My First Few Days in Seoul. 💛 || uni room tour, roommates and real talk
Hey guys! Welcome to a little recap of my first few days moving into my university residence hall in Seoul, South Korea. This is a collection of memories, feelings, random sporadic clips and a little room tour!! I also wanted to discuss the perspectives shared in the comments sections of my recent videos.
I've also seen so many rumours about my uni, most of which are unfounded. If you're wondering why I don't address them, it's because I don't work for my uni ahahaha. I'm just a student trying to juggle my assignments, workload and life. I know what's true, and that's what matters. One day I'd loveeee to dig into your questions! For example, I really don't think the intense workload here is healthy mental-health-wise. Lots to discuss in the future!!
Thank you for bearing with me. ❤️

I think that it is just amazing how you take on the criticism and actually reflect on it and learn from it, not everyone can do that. if more people were able to do that the world would be a better place ! more people should be like you, thank you xx

It’s so lovely to hear that you’re okay! Your roommates seem so lovely. I wish you all the best in Seoul🤗💜
Thank you for posting this video. These are really hard and confusing times, and the thing to understand is that we're all learning, and trying our best. I really respect you for the way you handle criticism and how you keep being optimistic despite all.

Jade, we love you. Sending you lots of positive and healing vibes 🌻
How much difference an honest apology makes... Stay save and healthy Jade, lots of love from Germany
Your channel is genuinely my favorite safe space on the internet
You should make a video about the struggles you face at your uni! Not just the obvious, but things an outside person wouldn’t think of😊 that would be really interesting💕
thank you for the apology i think sometimes it’s hard to remember everybody is human and we are all struggling atm.

I’m feeling really relieved and happy now to see you again! To be honest, I was a little worried about you and have been looking forward to watching your KZread soon. Hope you’ll have some more meaningful time with your friends from now on in Seoul. It’s getting warmer in March, so it’s more comfortable and easier to go outside. When it comes to the Covid, exploring outdoors is safer than staying inside. I assume nobody will blame you if you travel anywhere as long as you’re wearing a mask. Wishing you the very best luck!🥳🍀
THE VIDEO WE WERE WAITING FOR🙌🏼
You are seriously one of the best content creators, I hope you have a great time in Seoul
Hey Jade! Thanks for uploading! I've been literally waiting for an update from you
I feel like it can be hard pandemic or not being abroad and dealing with uni stress. when I was studying abroad in japan pre-pandemic, when I was felt down at all I had a tendency to feel guilty like "I'm not allowed to feel like this I'm in Japan!" but having people in the same boat helped me out. it's great that you already have a sense of community there!
Have the best time ever Jade! You deserve it.
I really respect you for apologising and taking the feedback on board. Thanks Jade and hope you have a good time in Seoul ❤️ edit: also thank you so much for addressing homesickness, I'm only an hour away from my family and we're in the same country but because of the lockdown I might as well be in a different country! I miss my family and its good to know I'm not alone, though it must be awful to have to deal with time difference too. You are totally valid to be struggling even being so lucky to be studying abroad. Hope the Minerva workload isn't too much ❤️
YESSSSS i've been waiting for this one turn it UP
Your videos and in general your attitude always make my day!:)
i hope you have fun and enjoy your time there jade you really deserve it
dont let anyone make you regret doing something you have valued and made your life better!!! there are soooo many people worse than you who have traveled and met 100 people, dont feel ashamed or say sorry, we still have to live its impossible to but life on a brake like that when you get an oppertunity wich wouldnt be possible if it wasnt supposed to happen. thank you so much for sharing your traveling/every day videos from your international life, it really gives my day color
Hey Jade, I'm a real new follower of yours and still learning about you. What I've realised is that you are a good human trying to do your best in a difficult situation. I think you've been brave to undertake this journey - it's intense and many would fail in your place. Keep believing in yourself and know that you have many supporters. Your beliefs are our beliefs...👽
So glad to see you post again!! I really really miss your contents. Also, I can relate to your mental struggles... thank you so much for sharing your reflections every time. You are so kind, so true, so genuine, hope I can know you in real life🥺

I love your videos and hope you have a great school experience in Seoul! Sending support and love from across the world!
jade, thank you for this. we are all human, we make mistakes. covid interrupted our lives - yes we are responsible for our decisions - but you have taking accountability. it's hard, no one has experienced this before so it's difficult to deal with, but I'm proud of you for addressing this yet again and not ignored it like many people would. you're an inspiration 💖

Also, you went through really hard times in lockdowns & quarantines, people need to understand that, you aren’t living by UK rules cause ur not in the UK, and we all need to grasp that. Please keep urself well, we love you and all u do. ❤️❤️
You're doing great sis, hope you know that 💛

Hey Jade :) I loved your video so much! Having followed you for such a long time I really appreciated you being so genuine. I can imagine that being so hard especially while faceing critiszm but I really think you handeled it well here. Also being an international student at an amanzing but exhausting uni I really relate to the stuggles you mentioned! I hope you are doing well and taking care of yourself
I MISSED U!!!! thank you for being love and positivity and light in all our lives

how is it to be vegan in Korea ?

If you live in Seoul, it's so much easier! I recommend 'vegan space' in Itaewon. They have vegan stuff a lot!
I think that anyone following for a while, know you’re being very careful. Do not worry about the people that search for anything to criticise ! And take care of you, you’re allowed to struggle ❤️
sending you SO MUCH love and opportunities to learn. you’re an inspiration.
I LOVE the music at the start!
we love you jade!
Thankyou for being so open and honest 😊
This apology was a lot better, I hope you’re not beating yourself up about this too much. I know some people can go too far, but you’ve definitely said your piece now so I hope you can learn and work past this. Ignore the people who still want to hang onto that issue now, they will never be satisfied. Please take care of yourself!
This is so wholesome 💫
You are glowing!!!!!
I have been waiting for this one! Love the editing💜
I'd love to see a video on how you do your hair! Your curls are so pretty!
Thank you Jade, I've been thinking about you a lot, I hope you're doing better now and I'm sending a lot of love and support to everyone, be patient and keep fighting. I've been struggling a lot with sharing the house with my parents, my dad is still working from home (it's almost a year I don't get to have the house for myself at least for a full morning) also seeing my bf has become a bit challenging considering there's curfew at 10pm in Italy. So yea we're all having a hard time but I think supporting each other is the best thing we can do.

Really good video Jade, especially the talk at he end! You're so good to think things through so much
Your videos are like a ray of light that breaks up the fog of the monotonous zoom routines
It would be interesting to measure the carbon footprint of Minerva students. Not only the plane travel aspect but also the buying of new domestic items like bedding, etc every time they go to a new country and also the electricity used to power laptops of multiple students to attend the same class
@randomcomment7675
3 жыл бұрын
While this is a fair point and I SO support this (since I have never traveled by airplane for environmental and ethical reasons) don’t forget that the concept of a personal „carbon footprint“ was actually invented by BP, the one of the worst carbon polluters worldwide.

As much as the carbon footprint is a valid point but should it really matter that much to an individual. I feel like reducing the carbon footprint is the responsibility of huge corporations and nations (not the sole responsibility tho). I mean you should not stop breathing freely in the open air just because you produce CO2. I think traveling is one of those things. Like people who study abroad, backpack, etc to numerous countries, they must also be leaving a huge carbon footprint. If you compare them with Minerva students, they're kinda more efficient: traveling and studying at the same time (assuming that the kids who chose Minerva are the ones who want to explore other countries and would've done so even while attending a traditional college). But yes I feel like every organization even universities must put out their carbon footprint reports.
@ellie8782
3 жыл бұрын
@@aayansh3919 interesting perspective and you raise some valid points but I think we all have responsibilities to make a difference and we shouldn’t leave it to those who we believe to have more power (ie corporations or big colleges) to look after the environment
@luisa4897
3 жыл бұрын
I get your point, but I want to remind you that Jade is vegan and just think about how much carbon that alone saves. Of course everyone should live in awareness of our beautiful earth and nature, but we're also human beings. Some want to travel and explore the world, others like to have some meat. Please don't start to judge EVERY action, stay positive
You're very genuine. Thank you for that. :)
Love your curls, love your energy, love your content ❤️❤️❤️
omg love this, love the glow up jade has hade since the oxford rejection. life really works out huh
Yay more jade!
Lovely video! I knew so little about South-Korea before your videos there! I think I get what you said about Minervans feeling like they shouldn't complain, every Minervan I've seen on youtube has insisted on expressing their gratefulness for Minerva but because you have openly talked about how it can be stressful I can think about that too. I don't think I would be willing to pay that price for Minerva, even though as you said it looks great on the surface. I don't want to change anyone's mind, but if you did encounter someone unexpectedly in Switzerland, you would've kept your distance, so I still don't think you're problematic. I hope you feel better soon, it seems like you've been under great pressure
Hey Jade, I'm very happy for you, seeing your journey, your growth motives me, wish you only good, positive energy is what I'm sending, grateful to see at least someone having the opportunity in this time! thank you again, this content makes me feel it's possible for me as well, to enjoy life, to travel, even though I struggle in life.
Hope you're doing well, Jade. Good luck for the Seoul edition!
you're really a legend
So happy to see a new video of you Jade!
Sending you lots of love and positivity all the way from Lebanon!❤✨✨ Thank you for sharing this❤
10:00 a much better apology than before. Now that you're there, I hope you'll have a great time in Seoul.
Yay!! And your first few days sound great
I admire you Jade for even being bothered to apologise... There are loads of students still travelling abroad because of studying even with the current situation, I say as long as you are being safe, make the most of the experience. Also it’s not anyone’s place to criticise your choices only because you have a social media platform. If everyone here is self-aware enough to type in comments then they are also aware that everyone’s situation right now is different. Why would someone else’s experience in a different country affect you that much that you feel the need to label them as irresponsible and selfish and demand for an apology. Especially when their content is clearly not with the intention of showing off and always with the right precautions.
Loved the video ♥️❤️
