The knit neckline looks terrific 🎉 I think your sleeves would look better is you had continued the same pattern as your sweater. Just the opinion of an old woman. 😉 now that I see it finished you did GREAT. amazing job 👍🏻

Are you? The colours of this are very ugly, and it's very typical of why people dislike homemade craft items as gifts, absolutely no colour theory involved. I'm not trying to be rude, btw, I just find it amazing that you seem to be mistaking the kind of feeling of a project being completed so the item exists, so you just accept it, with the colours and patterns actually looking good. They don't. IMHO. What I mean is, consider this, when you make an item of clothes by hand, it's actually an incredibly expensive item for what it is, right? Because you have the cost of the materials as well as your labour and other pricing considerations if you were going to sell it. Yet most crochet and knitwear looks cheap AF, because people use large needles to save time and colour combinations that not only do not take colour theory into consideration, but really can't be worn anywhere that an item of clothes of that price range can be worn. I know it's just scraps but this sweater should sell for upwards of $200 USD if it were for sale, no? From the pricing regarding time spent etc, but it looks like an item from a hippy's market stall. Crochet, knitting and all the other handicrafts are artisan crafts created and done by men so the items could be sold for profit. It's only now that women do this as a hobby that they make any old crap for entertainment or whatever.
my jaw is on the floor on the merging yarn water technique. you opened a whole new world for me

Just be careful because it only works with animal fibres- you’re basically felting the ends together with water and heat/friction. It won’t work with cotton or acrylic yarn. But it’s fantastic for animal fibres! Also known as a Spit Join (because historically, people would just wet the ends of the yarn in their mouth and then rub! 😬)

It’s so much fun watching your adventures in crocheting. My daughter,14, taught herself how to crochet last month and she’s made a beanie, purse, sweater that’s in progress, and granny square skirt, and she’s working on the top. Thanks for the inspiration!
That’s fantastic! So glad you decided to go with the neck shaping and knit ribbing, I think that really gave it that lovely “finished” look. I’m completely inspired to do one up for myself!

Right??? That’s surprised me.
Your crafting is super chaotic and inspiring. I abandon a lot of projects because I choose to follow patterns that are way too ambitious all the time. Now all I wanna do is make a sweater with scrap yarn modelled on my favorite hoodie. Genius.
I definitely get so into knitting or crocheting a project that I either knowingly or unknowingly put off everything else. it's so relatable when you mentioned that

I love hearing about sweet Benson! It’s nice that he’s always by your side. And the sweater is nice too!
Shewwww and sorry. Let me just get to it. Benson cannot wear that pronged choke collar. Chihuahuas are prone to tracheal collapse from just tugging on a soft collar. Ideally chihuahuas should only wear a harness. Now if Benson is an escape artist like my chihuahua, just get him a Thunder shirt (the ones for anxiety) and sew a D ring on it to hook to his leash. He will not be able to escape. I really enjoy your videos. I knit, crochet, sew and thrift. I enjoy your retro projects, especially the 70s looks. I wore it in the 70s. Keep up the great work 😊
You outside in your deck is a whole mood, it looks so relaxing, wishing I could do the same😊
Thanks so much for showing the color change. I've never seen it done like that and I LOVE it.
your channel is such crochet inspo. I've always knitted until I started watching you, and you got me to pick up my "for fixing runs in my knitting" crochet hooks to actually crochet, and I've been obsessed. I love watching you go to the yarn store, and wind cakes, pick colors and everything else, because that's been ME the past month. 10/10 love you girl

the way you joined two bits of yarn!! where has this been all my life you wizard person you!!!!
I love it! Good luck with the new pup. Hope Benson sees it as a pal.
A little hack for you: I saw you weaving in a ton of ends at your beanie project and now you took the extra step to join the ends with water (which makes for a less stabile fabric!). Just do a Color change as usual and crochet over both yarn ends as you continue. You will have no ends to weave in except the very last!

Benson's, "Okay, Mom" expressions whenever you feature him make me laugh.
Your colors are all jewel tones. Perfect for a spring complexion like yours! Thank you for explaining the trick of joining the ends together with water
You are the best at free style creativity. You encouraged me to go for it! No pattern. Luv it!
I am just getting around to watching this and I have Tom Daley's book on my coffee table right now!! I love the way you wing it and make crochet look so doable for anyone who is interested. No need for complicated patterns.
The knit collar really is elite! Such a great choice!
I just appreciate your happy-go-lucky personality. Not afraid to try whatever is your fancy and everything is perfect! At 66, I couldn’t get away with such zany outfits…my kids would think my brain exploded. But I get your heart and love it!
I just started using existing clothes to gauge my size. At this point, making a swatch and doing the math isn’t something I want to invest more time into learning. Edit: I’m 100% stealing the knit collar idea from you. That’s a game changer. 😮
