I'm professional now | Airport Sim
Ойындар
A little dab of trial and error, and then some time spent in tutorials filling in the unintutitive gaps and I'm back, and 100% expert now. We're getting this airport moving in Airport Sim.

Colonel playing these sims makes me think of interns doing their daily tasks when they start work initially. No idea of what they are actually doing yet they got the enthusiasm and zeal to get things done. 15mins into the video and I'm having fun. Thanks Colonel for another great episode!
This somehow has a strange dejavu feeling of watching an Air crash investigation episode. The ground crew does something wrong and the plane crashes. In this case if it happens entire blame would go on Colonel himself!

Colonel left a piece of luggage dangling from the pitot tube...
Dave the Co-Pilot: Hey Steve. Steve the Pilot: What Dave? Dave: Look down there. It's that Failure bloke in the Pushback vehicle. Steve: Nickers! Warn the passengers and deploy the oxygen masks. Dave: Don't worry, nothing will go wrong. You're not called Lucky Steve for no reason. Steve: I'm not Lucky Steve. He flies a Camel. Dave: Etihad? Steve: No, he went of his own accord...
I was imaging watching this shambles from the airport waiting lounge 😂 hilarious stuff
The "Get outta the plane" moment brought back some great, funny memories!
Iceland's finest ground staff, in action again!
Lovely bit of Classic Colonel Cam at the end there!
What a great wrap up for this one. Thank you as always Colonel.
that heavy little thingy is faster than the jet airliner! Put some Kerbal wings on it!
Haven't laughted like I did when you loaded the bags in a long time 🤣
And this is why I love watching your videos. Laughed so hard I made a mess
As much as I usually enjoy Failure and ineptitude... this was remarkably smooth and satisfying.
Oh yes.... I'm liking this... And I've only seen the title... Failure + Airport + Dave (he's got to here somewhere) = Fandabidozi
Great return to form!
Ah, Keflavik, where it's below freezing wind chill in the middle of freaking August. Though it warmed up and the week was great. Wear a parka if you want realism. Pro tip on spotting your bag - pastel colored straps around the suitcases. I get the manly colored pastels and my wife gets pink.
Well that went without a hitch! I see a bright future ahead for the Colonel as an airport things kind of guy!
Ah, the belligerent handling of luggage by the ground crew, so true to life!
"Reclining is an act of violence." The man speaks truth to power!
Apparently the tow bar on the back of the push back truck is superflous in the Colonel's world of aviation.😂

No sense in attaching it twice.
As an actual fueler at an airport, the refueling in this game drives me nuts. On the Airbus’, the lights that they use to indicate that tanks are taking fuel are to indicate that the tanks are close to, or actually full. And the light next to the refueling switch that they turn on is the defuel/xfer indicator. The tutorial on the 737 only lets you fuel the wings and center tank separately. No airline in their right mind with the short turns that they call for let you do that. Minor complaint with the 737, the grounding lug is in the wrong location, it should be in the wheel well, not on the gear

And another note. I’ve seen ONE total 737 with the auto refueling toggles. They do exist, however are extremely rare

And another another note: You don’t move the truck if there’s an accident or emergency. You don’t shut the engine down in the chance that an errant spark starts a fire from vapors following a spill

Excellent background.
I particularly enjoyed the process of loading baggage onto the plane. The bags went up the conveyor belt while you, standing on it, remained stationary.
Years ago, I rented a car in England. Bit dodgy at first, but I got the hang of the whole left-hand drive thing in about 5 minutes. Never a problem after that - except, first thing every morning, I'd get up, head out... and climb into the passenger seat. Cheers

AAAAWWWWOOO! You ended it before he took off! We demand a rematch!
Buttons, bumps, beeps, and .. baggage-loaderinging. I luv countinnnng! Myhahah. Yey! ;o) 'Ere, Boss .. what's that big red button - under the red light in the uppy-downy, inny-outty stair case thing - near the stealing wheel .. for?'
The Edinburgh BHS (remember them?) did a special offer on sets of baggage. A month later we all stood in baggage retrieval and watched two dozen identical suitcases come around the carousel. I am sure that somebody somewhere was entertained.
Enjoyed this today 😂 cheers Colonel 👍 My you're belligerent

excellent!
Not the _worst_ baggage handling I've experienced...
I'm commenting before I even hit play. I was so looking forward to this. This is gonna be great. or else :)
I really would have enjoyed seeing that the thingy for the A318/319/320/321 doesn't work for the B737 and how long it would have taken until the Colonel had realized. Great video!
47 passengers with no carry on luggage, but only 18 bags loaded to the hold. something doesn't add up here...
The passenger models on the bus should have inertia. And proper ragdoll physics. I want to see the standing ones stumble when there's an abrupt change in speed, and go flying when you corner hard.
At the end with the BISON D 1000, I legit had to pause the video to be certain that the sound wasn't my washing machine on final spin cycle
Baggage is my least fav thing to do so lets gooo lol

MORE PLease
If you dropped a bag, or if the baggage gets put on the wrong plane it’s fine, they’ll be another plane going that way eventually and we can just put it on that one. I’ll get there eventually. All good.
its like watching a car crash, you just cant look away
After the objective to clear away cones and vehicles and starting to push the plane back, surely you can slap the engine test cone back on? :D
There's a reason you leave the truck engine running on the refueler. I'm sure you'll figure it out eventually.
As a person that may have chucked the odd bus down the tarmac over the last two decades, I have found that passengers don't seem to appreciate the skill involved in getting the backend to kick out like that with a handbrake turn. No one stands there and admires the artistry of the ol' double elevens you lay down when coming in for a landing. Not even a smile. 🤷♂

They don't know what they're missing.
You know the scene from the Fifth Element at the airport, that's what this reminds me of with the crew all smoking weed and plugging and unplugging things.
Crumbs, almost 30 minutes in and no tutorial help to be seen. Smooth Operator Failure 👌🏽

I think the passengers were very uncomfortable when they found out who was servicing the plane.
Spoiler I wish they would have let you load the luggage into the wrong plane and then fire you after it flies off.

Fun fact: my uncle and my granddad used to fuel aircraft at Heathrow. Not sure if they got points for it though
@Croz89

I believe Heathrow, like many large airports, has an underground fuel delivery system, just pop the right manhole cover and plug in. Saves carting the truck around!

I know my grandad retired in 1985 and was still driving the big Foden S20 Bowsers around until he left. My uncle started on the bowsers but wasn't driving them for long - he left once the roll out to hydrants was complete in the mid-90s. Rarely they may still use fuel bowsers on jet stands for smaller aircraft, or for defuelling
Wait, did the tablet say it's 12:38? Why is the sun so at the horizon? That's wrong if that's noon or midnight! Unless London has a much different climate than I thought it did.
