    - AUDIO - This is an embargoed press conference and Tottenham decide to take the reporter's mics away for this section as it’s not really meant to be broadcast. Extra footage! I still try my best to enhance the audio for the questions using amazing software but it’s impossible to make it perfect as the mic is very far away from the reporters and hardly picking them up. As long as it helps some people out otherwise it would literally just be silent for the questions. If you watch the first section of this press conference you will see the audio is perfect for both Ange and the reporters.

As an Aussie who's passionate about football I'm super proud of our man Ange. As a Celtic fan I was over the bloody moon when Ange was appointed as boss at Parkhead! It's a great pity that he's not getting the recognition he deserves in his own country. Our sports media is only focused on AFL and NRL, and stories of appalling social behaviour from players in those codes.

Totally agree with such the strong focus on the AFL & NRL. I’m an Aussie too and I absolutely love the PL and a huge fan of Tottenham and Ange, and you’re absolutely right, it’s a shame that the real ‘Football’ isn’t getting the recognition it deserves here in Australia! But we will continue to get up in the middle of night to watch our beloved Spurs, tonight/tomorrow morning it will be a 3.30am wake up! Gotta love it!

@@sonorsonor5125 I like all sports, follow Mariners & Sharks (cricket is tops for me) but when you have the tribalism culture like AFL & NRL then that's where you concentrate publicity if you want the almighty dollar to continue coming your way. Can't comment too much on AFL player culture but the NRL player culture is a disgrace. Look how many of them had trouble getting into the US for past offences! To be honest, with Ange's success, a lot more is being shown. If you're interested in podcasts, The Howie Games is great & has 2 great Ange interviews, one from 2017 (before he left for overseas) & one from a year ago. Great listening!

@@SydneyMoo I disagree about the so-called 'appalling treatment' Ange received from FA. His decision to leave Australia had more to do with not getting just rewards for the game (not personal rewards) after winning the Asian Cup. The AFL and NRL dominated media mafia drove Ange out. There are other top quality young managers coming out of the A-League. Monty at Hibs, Muskie in Japan/China, ex-Leeds Mark Jackson at CCM, Chiefy (Giancarlo Italiano) at 'Nix etc. They don't get the recognition they deserve either.

The biggest issue facing football in Australia is that media companies have vested interests in other codes. Nine/Fairfax with the NRL, Fox/Murdoch with NRL and Stokes/Seven with AFL. Football gets buried to protect the other, loathsome and pathetic, codes.

I'm an Australian Arsenal supporter since I was a kid and started watching from the weekly highlights in 1991. This might sound stupid to people living in the UK and particularly North London, but most weeks of this season I've been more excited to watch Spurs games than the Gunners, when they are sitting top of the league currently. I end up watching at least a couple of games a weekend between the hours of midnight and 7am, and that does take a certain level of commitment. I would never have considered supporting Celtic either but for the past 2 seasons I've been absorbing any media I could get my hands on regarding that club. I guess it has been similar when we've had a lot of Aussies playing in the EPL - would have thought the likes of Kewell and Viduka might have paved the way for an Aussie manager who has coached winning national teams and domestic clubs to be given a chance. Ange epitomises the Aussie spirit that you don't put limits on yourself and that is exactly how Australia has beaten most of the best national sides in the world over the last few decades. When you think about it, players in Australia and Japan are fairly dispensible at the national league level, and you get a great turnover to sift through and pick the players that suit your style of play. If Ange was asked to manage a team in say Division 1 in England with a limited budget and scope for change, I think he might have to compromise a bit too much on his style of play to be able to make an instant splash.

Being able to live in London and go to matches every week is reserved for very few. Some people work second jobs to get to as many matches as they can. Some travel, some watch however they can. Everyone is the same on matchday pulling in the same direction. I don't get the term with Spurs, they've always been a global glamour type of club. I understand it a bit more with Manchester United just because of the timing of when they became a global brand and fanbase but outside of that it doesn't make much sense. Real Madrid leans into their global fanbase and are proud of it. I've been to Barcelona and even all those years back and the camp nou even then was basically a shrine to the football club for tourists.

Aussies where appalled at the way FA treated him and most of us have for supported his carrer from when he took over the national U/20 team. I know I loved the way he took on Foss back in the day. Ange was pushing back at expectations even then. He was building a team and Foss just wanted wins. Aussies don't put up with bullshit especially Ange he presents himself today exactly as he did back then. These press sessions are a mirror of his stints on the panel of 'Offsiders' he is still 'our Ange'.

I feel like more tourists at games are a genuine problem. Chelsea hasn't always had the best atmosphere and maybe a lot of the recent decline in atmosphere is due to our success and the fan base getting spoilt. But I imagine for a lot of groups of match going fans, they face the same issue as me. It's hard to get a group of 4+ people together in the same seats, tickets are fucking expensive and it's hard to even get them in the first place. And a lot of this is due to the demand from tourists Imo this is an issue as we lose football culture. I still find it going to my local team AFC Wimbledon but I do miss going to Chelsea more regularly

Sad that in 2024, we have to talk about this and trying to gatekeep people from enjoying sports...Do Asians have to bend over to be accepted in stadiums now?

People mock me for supporting Tottenham. After all those years with no a trophy. It frustrates me when we don’t win titles it’s frustrating when we don’t even compete and seeing rivals ahead of us but I still love this Football club and when I am being mocked it makes me love this club even more I believe in this club can win trophies. From Saudi Arabia. COYS 🤍
