you've been gone so long, glad you're back, sad to hear things aren't working out with the ponds though.

Man, this slipped under my radar because of KZread's tendency to not recommend inactive KZreadrs. I hate that this didn't work out, but man, we love you. You're such a nice, caring person, who loves animals and I'll watch whatever you do next! If you can, and have the energy/time to do them, I'd love videos of anything you feel like posting if it would help keep the channel active, and I think a lot of us would too

"such a nice, caring person, who loves animals" No... I'm sorry, but you just can't claim to be a lover of animals and go out to a lake, catch a bunch of fish (living animals), then kill and feed those fish to your other fish. It just doesn't work that way...

Everything was fine for us with the old pond. Plenty of fish and turtles. We viewers loved it.

Yes, he should never have left the old pond.

Knew this was going to happen when I saw the ponds being dug... Not clayed in, never fertilized, zero maintenance. You cant just dig a hole, throw fish in it, and call it a pond. There's a reason it cost so much to do it right.

Yep when I saw him blatantly ignoring all the comments giving him constructive criticism, I knew it would fail. It was really frustrating to watch.

Sometimes things just don’t work out as much as you want them to. Whether it’s ponds or aquariums. It’s just another learning experience to use for your next project. :)

Kinda figured this would happen. The turtles in there went to the center and didn't wanna come out. Same with the gar. Only the fish that were used to being fed by hand stayed by the edges. Throw in the fact that it was underdeveloped with no trees or cover, and its tough to keep them all safe from predators. The lack of rain certainly didn't help either :/

As sad as it is and i am sorry for his Situation, this is absolutely true. From Day one it was meant to end like this or something similar like this. The Comment section begged for months, came up with a lot of constructive Criticism and Ideas to protect the Animals and secure a stable Biology. But nothing happend. Just throwing tons of Food into the Ponds. From Day one i felt there was no Plan at all. Just feeding Fish in a big open Bathtub. This was meant to fail from the beginning. There is so much information in the Internet and also a lot of helpful people that know about stuff and wanted to help. But if you hardcore ignore everything that has to be done do garantee a stable System for the Animals to live in or are not capable of doing that... Well. We saw it coming and now it is there. Same goes for "young small" gar and other Fish in these small Tubs. Hurts me to see that. That is not about the Animals. I am sorry, if it sounds so harsh, but this whole Process of the Ponds sometimes made me so angry and sad at the same time. Worst of it was ignoring all the helpful tips from people. This stuff here costs a lot of Money, so i doubt it was lacking that to ensure stability and safety for all the Animals. I hope the Animals and him will we fine in the end and i hope a lot was learned during this whole Project. Moreover we never know the full situation, but that does not mean all the stuff did not happen.

Good to see that the gar are in good shape -- that's what matters. You're making the right call to move on to other things when something isn't working out after giving it a solid try. Best wishes for your new project.

Keep the spirit up ! And with your next project, start planting plants first, both inside as next to your pond, it will not only retain a lot of water, but it will also create a lot of biological diversity and a habitat for very beneficial micro organisms.

gar are built for low oxygenated water . They are tough fish and will survive through harsh conditions that will kill other fish . They can even gulp in air and get oxygen

In life you you have to close one door to open multiple other sometimes! Good luck man! 👍

I can hear the pain in your voice but I'm glad you at least tried this experiment. That was just a really rough environment to try and create a new pond ecosystem and really hope you will have more turtle feeding videos in the future. They were my favorite!

Yeah, the new ponds were all blue and clear which was obviously good for filming but they're essentially sterile swimming pools. Fiah, turtles, and everything else prefer ponds that are full of life, from the tiniest microorganisms all the way up to the biggest fish. I'm sure the turtles left to find somewhere where they can feel safe and have cover and feed sources without relying on having to be fed. Please do it right if you try it again. Instead of a giant aquarium, go for a dirty and weedy spot. The critters will thank you.
