Great interview. So well spoken Jerry. As a British born Chinese living in the UK, I was deceived by the Western media about China until I went to live in Hong Kong in 1992. Saw the hand over of Hong Kong back to China and everything changed in Hong Kong. Hong Kong became a better place. More freedom and we Hong Kongers were not second class citizens, we had a choice to do business with other countries rather than restricted to the British and we could vote for our government. And most of all, Hong Kong Tax payer's money stayed in Hong Kong. I worked in China too and see the rapid improvement in life year after year.

I would even go Further than Amazing country my African brother I would say one of the best country in the world in term of the Chinese government truly take care their people. It is safest country in the world. It’s not arrogant country like like Western European country and America. It’s a very very clean and beautiful country and a lot of beautiful places to visit , and have many beautiful local cultures. China 🇨🇳 has the best infrastructure in the world Ave no doubt about . China has help many African countries How to develop their economy and help African to alleviate poverty of the African people. Chinese people and the Chinese government are not selfish because they are willing common development, common prosperity, and technology to African. So on my book 📕 China has Help Africa a lot as a whole. CHINA always treat anybody and African as an equal partner with respect whether your country is small or large you will get the same treatment . China never impose our value or our very unique political system on you . Basically you do you and I do mind . Another words none interfering unless you want to learn from us , then we willing to share with you. I would say China is one of the most friendliest and nicest country in the world in term of politically relationship . I totally agree with the gentleman's view about opinions on China. If you are not in China now your views are all wrong. Even when I was in China 3 years ago it has improved even more now. Just incredible! The lifestyle and quality of life is much better than most of the developed countries I have been living in. Proud of what they done to a great nation and moving people away from poverty and educating our children of the future well!

@@hyphoneto When you see first hand how poor the working level people are, you know in your heart it's the right thing to do. A lot of the people in the West don't know that China is working to bring the people out of poverty and it's not anything to do with competition with them. China is trying to improve it's own people's lives. I hope the West gets it some day.

I'm sick and tire of seeing homelessness in almost all red lights intersections in US cities. USA government doesn't care about its own poor and homeless folks. All it cares are more military spending and more "offensive" weapons to provoke wars around the world.

my view of China after visiting the first time was when could i get back there, a great country with great friendly people. Now nearing retirement i want to take my wife back to her motherland so we can be near her daughters and her family

Don't be misunderstood Jerry that a lot of troll in social media were mostly asian (ASEAN, Taiwan, japan, Hongkong pro independence, india) and it's only one quarter came from the west. Jealousy is the main reason for the hatred because before 2000 China was never as rich as today and even was well below other asians but in a sudden just go up the ladder in speed which surely will created Jealousy in asia.

But she avoids politics but when you show China how it is you don't need to.

Before the high speed railway was fully built, there were doubts questioning the government it is a waste of money and a face project. After its establishment and seeing the changes brought to life with this degree of mobility, we knew it was incredible and the first thing that needs to be done for the development.

For sure Chinese have lots of even more freedom regarding the daily life, but we do have less freedom from the perspective of politics especially when we use west standards to measure it. However, i do not regard it as a totally negative thing.

A large part of the culture is in the language. Best to know Chinese as well as you can.

It is surprising that people of the first world talk about freedom and security in China, I've heard Australian British Norwegian flatter the transportation system The United States is falling behind and its youth is increasingly lost I don't want to imagine in 30 more years

"freedom" was mentioned. USA likes to think "freedom" is about what exists in the imagination. But in reality, the most important freedoms are freedoms from harmful constraints on life. The essential freedoms that any state should ensure are: freedom from (and from the threat of) hunger, illness, homelessness, poverty, personal danger in public.

In the UK more people died due to excess deaths than covid deaths from missing cancer treatments etc. Also the mRNA vaccines have proven to be highly questionable.

damn right, U$EU pushes mRNA because U$EU own the copyright, they even changed the definition of what a vaccine is.

My worry about China after having lived here for 13 years is that the lockdowns will happen again. Dragging people off who are covid negative to live in unsanitary conditions with covid positive people, was to me at least just unacceptable. Many people I am sure were very in favour of this.
