@@op-vw8sd The BBC has indeed shown Google Map blow-ups of Chinese schools and miss-identified them as prisons. I am not sure how a reference to this fact promotes the CPC. Surely you know that one can disagree with you without payment. KZread is blocked on Chinese networks because it contains so much gore, pornography and lies. The attempt to block these things is probably in vain, but the effort is understandable and commendable.

Chinese people are well taken care of, poor or not. They live a life much richer than the poor in California for sure.

This foreigner is so impressive! He devotes himself to doing things that he sees meaningful and build real connections with the people. He made a good point about China should also use its historical and cultural advantages. It would be inspirational to see him spearheading such initiatives in these villages.

Im sure Id seen vids of Linden before. He moved ro China and bought a very large aristocratic pile in Dali, Yunan where he assimilated into the life and culture of the ethnic minority tribe. He searched for antiques to renovate and restore the grand house to its former Ming or Tang, dynastic glory. He's an active member of the of the village, community. He speaks excellent Mandarin and after some time, he had a Chinese wife and 2 children. They opened up their restored ancient house to take in tourists and travellers. Linden struck me as. someone who read Chinese lan- guage, history, culture and tradition esp. the diversity of ethnicities deeply and became not only. a Sinologist, but a Chinese. The adoption of another racial identity as different as that of a Northern European and a Han Chinese is a conscious cross border choice for a more beautiful, meaningful and morally upgraded society. Many people all over the world have crossed borders to become a diffetent race, natio nality or religion for polizical, linguistic, economic reasons, or for love, the inheritance of coloninialism and following ideological influences as in the footsteps of popular idols, revolutions and variety of changes in the rise of new ideas, thinking, innovations emigrations and not least, becomig helpless war refugees. Among all these factors and forces pushing individuals to cross borders, its only love, linguistic and cultural influences that are made by the self- determination of making a conscious choice to change their racial. identity. But people who drop their racial stock to become a completely different racial origin by the change of name and surname of say, Jack Smith, Lisa Ems, Adewola Aaron, and Sarah Lindsay. this becoming English. Many people chose this path for economic and political reasons. Many people, like the Chinese, like to take on an English name but keep their Chinese surname as in Richard Li, Betty Chu and Jack Ma, refering their race aChinese British or simply Chinese. i think the Chinese are resilient to changing their racial origin. Westerners and all non Chinese who become Chinese havr their original names translated into Chinesr replicating Mandarin pinyin phonetics but always with the choice for getting the best semantics so john is johan but johan has quite alot of characters to make his Chinese phonetic version sound most subtle, poetic, smartest... herein lies the amazing well of superlatives for naming or renaming oneself. I adore Linden whatever his race or name. He has magical qualities and has reincarnated himself. Health, longevity and peace and love to all.

One of the biggest different between China and the west or India is China government think, care and took action for the betterment for the people but the others are politicians of popularity. They only care for themselves. What Brian mentioned about forgetting the past is indeed a concern and threats but I believe it will not happen in a big way for Chinese. I'm a Malaysian Chinese and had never forgot my root, although priority will still be Malaysia but the root, culture, tradition and ancestors will not be forgotten

I visited this village a few years ago，when Mr. Linden rented a yard of the local former chief on the spot and opened a hotel by the endless golden wheat field，which looks like life in the garden of eden.

I don't think Chinese forgot about the history. It's true that Chinese lost the pride and confidence during the 150 years after 1840. It will take time to regain that confidence and pride. You can see that trend growing especially in the younger generations (born after 1990) today.

I noticed all foreigners in China became so peaceful and harmless, nice and friendly!

Awesome. The children are the future, and they are experiencing both sides, the village life, and the Mega City life if they want too. So one day they have choices, and l am sure one or the other will come back as teachers. They are looking healthy, and content satisfied with their lifestyle, and education possibilities. The Principal looked also humble and proud of his school. I love this, because l also love village life. Thank you. It was joyous and hopeful to watching this.

He is absolutely right. Preserve, inherit, pass on, further develop and promote the 5000 years old yet modern Chinese cultures to the world is what this generation of Chinese should do. The world knows just too little about real China and she has been misunderstood for too long. Yunnan is also one of my favourite province of China.

Brian Linden hold your head high Sir, I know full well that you are living the dream, Im a Kiwi "New Zealander" living in China with my Chinese wife and love every aspect of this amazing country and its amazing people, I have no plans of living anywhere else from here on, I love it and I hope one day to meet you and shake your hand.

Thank you to President Xi Jinping for poverty alleviation project completed, for this Bai Natives live better now. Thanks to Mr Brian Linden for living in this village helping n interacting with his Bai neighbors becoming great friends. Thank you to Linden for his love n respect for Chinese culture n thanks to Ychina, for showing us this native Village in rural Yunnan. Looking forward to more series. The children are so cute, friendly n so happy. Would love to visit this Bai Native village when l visit China.

Thumbs up to Mr Linden and people like him (and Raz of course) who are so passionate about showing the world another facet of China. All these different facets interweave to make the whole called China.

My respect to people who devote their life, effort and time to help others who are underprivileged.

Both Chinese and Westerners need this live videos. Western media should be shame about it. Great works!

Love how the villagers are so welcoming to outsiders with their sincerity...their life might be simple and plain but it is the love of life that makes them happy!

Xi Jinpings efforts to include the remote areas has been a success. Although it might be hard staying away from the family, the children gets a chance to improve their lives and the communities

Education is so important its totally accepted that children go to boarding schools And the way schools are kept safe include having good physical security. A lot of sacrifice, cos life is tough. Same sacrifice by the "lost children" of migrant workers.

To be honest, there are many people like Linden who live in different corners of the world, enjoying the tranquil and serenity of life as a Human being~ Free from international affairs and politics.. YOLO- Just do it~ Good video, Thx 歪果仁协会 for the efforts and sharing 👍 加油🥰
