When the West visits Africa, they talk about China.

If the West really thinks China helping Africa to gain influence is a bad thing, the best thing it can do is help Africa even more.
In this episode, President of the Socialist Party of Zambia, Fred M'membe, and the convener of the Socialist Movement of Ghana, Kyeretwie Opoku share with us an African perspective on "Africa's China problem".
Prof. Fred M'membe was named as one of its World Press Freedom Heroes by the International Press Institute. He supported the liberation struggles in southern Africa and other parts of the world with a true spirit of internationalism.
Kyeretwie Opoku is a committed socialist and a strong supporter of the African integration (Pan-Africanism).

My country Malaysia (and its former iterations) traded with China since 2000 years ago, China never invaded us. When they wanted something, they traded with us. In 1511 the Portuguese came, in 1642 the Dutch came, in 1786 the British, we were colonized by each, one after another. When the US Foreign Secretary Rex Tillerson traveled to Africa to warn African nations against working with China, he landed in an airport in Africa built by China, then he traveled on a road built by China, before finally he arrived in a building constructed by China to give the speech. And then he told the people: “Do not work with China.” When African countries deal with China, they get tangible assets. When Africa countries deal with the West, they need to be privatized before any further talks, otherwise they are dismissed by given a lecture on human rights and the projects remain on paper. And if the country has oil, the IMF and World Bank would come and give the loan, and Exxon/BP/Shell would take the oil. And if the country has oil and the leaders have big ambitions, e.g. Gaddafi’s pan-African currency and Saddam Hussein’s drop of the dollar in oil trades, bombs made by Raytheon would be dropped in the country, the leaders would be killed, then US contractors would be moved in to “rebuild” the country, the IMF and World Bank would come and give the loan, and Exxon/BP/Shell would take the oil.

The Western world and its media condemn China, but these are the same people copying China's model or, should I say, stealing China's building infrastructure model. When you copy or steal someone's idea you must learn two things quickly 1. Understand what you gave copied or stolen 2. Build or make it better than the original. The Chinese suffered in the past and look at them today. They manufacture almost every single thing the world needs. Thanks to China, Africa has computers in villages in Africa.

@induchopra3014, Japan and the UK tricked Tanzania into tearing off the contract that it had signed with China to build a railroad from Tanzania to Zambia by telling the Tanzanian government they could build a better railraod that would be a lot cheaper and better than the railroad that China was about to build. The only problem was that both Japan and the UK refused to build the railroad once they have signed the contract to build the railroad for Tanzania! Countless calls by the Tanzanian government to both Japan and the UK to beg them to start working on the railroad project went unanswered. These calls went on for several years until the Tanzanian government officials have had enough and realized beyond any doubt that they have been duped by Japan and the UK. So they swallowed their pride and gathered the courage to take a trip to Beijing to personally applogize to the Chinese government officials by asking them for forgiveness and plead with them to take up the railroad project that was being ignored by Japan and the UK. China forgave Tanzania and is in the middle of building a railroad that would not only connect Tanzania to Zambia, but to several other east African countries as well after other African countries also approached China to build railroads for them as well. The reason Japan and the UK convinced Tanzania to tear up the contract it signed with China is not because they wanted to build the railroad for Tanzania, the reason is because they wanted to undermine China’s infrastructure projects in Africa. They do not want China to build anything for Africa because that would benefit both China and Africa. Their entire objective was to go into Africa to out-bid China for infrastructure projects so that they could steal infrastructure project contracts away from China so that they could ruin it for China and Africa. Currently, Japan has several railroad projects in Vietnam, the UK, India, Thailand, as well as other countries that it can’t finish on time as they are several years behind the deadlines and they are way over the budgets that Japan initially gave to those countries so what makes you think Japan would be able to build any infrastructure projects for Africa? Japan has a few dozens infrastructure projects within its own country that it has put on hold for years simply because it can’t do them because of the shortage of young men right now to do the job! You see, Japan has a major problem with producing enough children to replace its aging population. Old people (65 and older) outnumbered young people between the age of 10 - 25 at a rate greater than 2 to 1. So, good luck asking Japan to build anything! As for India, just take a look at India’s slow trains with people hanging on all sides and people sitting on the top of the trains as the insides of the trains are packed tighter than a can of sardines with passengers to come to the question: “Why would any country want to ask India to build a railroad?” Have you seen India’s bumpy ass railroads? Come on man! Why would any country want India to build an out-dated 1950-style railroad when they could ask China? - the best railroad builder in the entire world! Even the US asked China to build its bridges! And the US’s railroads and canals from the past were built by the Chinese!

The Chinese system is nothing better than western imperialism. China just wants to fight and beat its competitors on the gobal market as the west wants to because China is also capitalist now. Overthrow your new bourgeosie as real revolutionary marxists do, then we can talk about China being anti-imperialist. As long China is a capitalist market economy and there is no workers control China has to offer nothing better than the west. Your definition of socialism is wealth only for the Chinese instead of the west, being independant as a capitalist country free to do what the west is doing nearly for decades. The chinese definition of socialism is not anti-imperialist or anti-capitalist but nationalist, imperialist and conservative and has absolutely nothing to do with Marx anymore and the overthrow of imperialism and capitalism, thus the basic reason for war, crisis, opression etc. Get this straight again and China has my unristricted support in the struggle against the imperialist west.

The following article is written by Ismail Bashmori, he is an Egyptian China watcher. The truth is that China is the greatest country on the face of the earth. It makes all other countries look insignificant and contemptible. It is the most brilliant, most industrious, most ambitious, most educated, meritocratic and technocratic, most modern, sophisticated, and civilised, and best-governed by far. . It is the first non-white, non-Western country to reach this status since the 1600s. The determination of this country is indescribable. Supernatural. There is no force that can stop it from accomplishing anything it wants to do. It doesn’t matter who we are. Egyptians, Syrians, Pakistanis, Indians, Africans, even Americans. Next to the Chinese, we are pathetic. We can’t do what they do. We would have a mountain, an Everest of changes to make, and we would whine and bicker and fail at every one of them. China’s story since the 1980s has been one of an almost divine metamorphosis. Next to China the entire Western world from Alaska to New Zealand has stagnated. Next to China the entire developing world from Brazil to Madagascar has progressed only at a crawl. China is the mother of all gargantuan bullet trains. Every day it manages to create something new and astonishing. And unlike the United States, unlike the British Empire, unlike the French, Dutch, Germans, Spanish, Portuguese or any other Western nation that had its turn at being a superpower in the past four centuries, China doesn’t need to run anybody over or take something from somebody else, to rise majestically. China is also standing up to the West all by herself. The West can’t believe their four-hundred-year-old global supremacy is being challenged. They hoped that the more China developed, the more it would submit to their influence, interests, and leadership. That didn’t happen. So now they will do anything possible, short of a nuclear war, to make China end. Their goal is to destroy this country. That’s why, although the United States has killed several million people and turned several regions of the earth into hellscapes. China is the worst fear of our planet’s Western masters. They want you to despise and dread a country that’s done nothing to you, that hasn’t invaded anyone, bombed or sanctioned anyone, that hasn’t overthrown any foreign government, or used its military on anything since 1979. China is the only major country in the nonwhite developing world, to stand up to the West. To look it in the eye when challenged or threatened. The Global South are simply Western puppets who submitted long ago. Even the most powerful ones. Saudi Arabia, Brazil, India. The 1500s-1000s BC were Egypt’s time. Antiquity belonged to the Greeks and Romans. The 1700s belonged to France, and the 1800s to Britain. From 1945 to the present, the world has been under American overlordship. And they call it the Pax Americana but there isn’t much Pax in it. There’s plenty of Pax if you’re in Europe or Australia. But the Middle East? Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Iran and Yemen in the past 20 years. Latin America? They’ve destroyed that part of the world beyond any hope of recovery. Africa? It’s only been spared because of disinterest. The US sees Africa as nothing. The whole West does. But in the twenty-first century, we are witnessing the rise of China. We are decades away from China becoming the greatest power on earth. This will be China’s time, and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. Attack China all you want, curse her and monger rumours and hysteria - but the truth is that none of your accusations are backed up by evidence. The Western press is under the thumb of Western governments that want to stay on top of the world for eternity. And the truth is that China is not affected by the noise and maneuvers of her enemies. For her first thirty years, from 1949 to 1979, China was basically blockaded and isolated economically and politically by the West. It didn’t even have a seat in the UN General Assembly. And it was dirt-poor in those days, barely a speck of the global economy, a tiny fraction of Japan’s or Germany’s GDP - not even able to prevent famine. And it still didn’t submit to pressure or take any orders. Why on earth would it do that now? China will be the next global power. There’s nothing that can be done about that. The first stage is that its economy only needs to grow at 4.7 percent per year to become the world’s largest by 2035. That means the usual, historical bare-minimum of 6 percent is already overkill. The US can build as many bases as it wants, slap as many sanctions as it wants, recognise whatever bogus genocides it wants. That’s what it’s been doing all along. Has any of it made a difference? China can adapt to any situation. It took China a mere ten years to go from being barred by the US Congress from participating in the “International” Space Station, to building its own Space Station from zero. Above only part of the article, you can read the full article under the following link. www.dailyexpress.com.my/read/4459/west-can-t-believe-nor-accept-china-s-progress/?fbclid=IwAR3aJYSZC3rbUgM1NwHCO73XxnNzNkJPa9wrSsFp-4KMxTozuJiHBwLJDXU

It has only been recent the Zambia - Tanzania railway story came across, as the subject has never been part of any education curriculums in this little British ruled colonial city. As you mentioned, most youths especially those in HK, only acknowledge about recent Chinese investments in African countries; some actually go as far as thinking China is exploiting African countries, neglecting objective historical facts. I'm glad and appreciate the production of this video, as much as how China could be of assistance to the people of Africa.

As a Chinese, we'd like to see the rise of Africa countries in the future! There will be a lot of challenges due to this or that reasons, but we will eventually get there. Instead of saying China protecting Africa, I prefer to say we help with each other, because you are our friends, brothers amd sisters. We are all the same.💖

In February 1965, then Tanzanian President Julius Nyerere visited China. During their meeting, Chairman Mao Zedong said to him, “You have your difficulties, and we have ours. But they are not of the same kind. We will help you build this railway, even if we have to forsake building our own.” President Nyerere, one of the initiators of Tazara, had this to say about the railway: In the past, construction of railways by foreigners in Africa was for the purpose of plundering Africa’s wealth. The Chinese did it for a totally different purpose; they built it to help us grow our national economy. Kenneth Kaunda, Zambia’s founding President and leader of the independence movement in the southern part of Africa, described that part of history emotionally, “The history of Tazara is that former President Nyerere of Tanzania and I, myself went to the West and told them we need this railway between Tanzania and Zambia… The West rejected that proposal. They said… don’t think of this. President Nyerere and I then went to see Chairman Mao, and the prime minister (Zhou Enlai). We talked and put it to them, and they readily agreed, ‘we’ll go together to build that railway,’ this came. They came as brothers and sisters, as friends, as comrades with common struggle… So you can see, the friendship is genuine. When others thought it was not necessary… we built it. What more friendship do you want to see more than that?” socialistchina.org/2021/06/25/the-tanzania-zambia-railway-a-testament-to-china-africa-friendship/

Yes, China and most African countries have been plundered and colonized by Western developed countries. Only when the people unite can they make their country stronger. A few decades ago, China was one of the poorest countries in the world. Western developed countries have always blocked China's high technology. After decades of unity among the Chinese people, there have been great breakthroughs in technology. will go to Mars. Western countries suppress China because they want China and African countries to provide them with cheap labor and cheap industrial products. As long as your technological level threatens them, they will use media and public opinion to isolate you internationally. China is also very grateful to African brothers. Every time When Western countries isolate China in the United Nations, African countries always stand by China's side.

Thank you for sharing this truth. I just found out this fact and truth from this video that China helped Africa so much even when China was so much poorer than Africa. This selfless deed, this sacrifice from China must be known and remembered by many younger generations to come and known by as many people as possible. I am so touched and have tears in my eyes when you said China helped built a railway when China didn't have a railway of its own, and 70 Chinese workered had sacrificed and died in Zambia. Please please write this down in your history books and let next generations know before you are gone one day. I heard people said that Chairman Mao once said China one day would help under developed countries to rise up so that they would not be colonized by the vvest when it gets stronger. China was so poor back then and wanted to help more but couldn't. Now China like a phoenix rises from ashes stands up on its own feet all by themselves to become stronger and 2nd econonomy in the world. Now I understand why China come to help Africa through the BRI. If China comes straight in without BRI to help Africa, the vvest would come in drove to criticize China trying to take away their interests. Therefore, China needs to create BRI and invites all of them from the vvest to join and invest and develop Africa. Even coming in with BRI, they constantly comes after China to attack, smear, and demonize China. With China's help, Africa must work harder and get stronger to stand up against vvestern colonization. Africa cannot let China down.

During colonial Australia, they imported Chinese labourers who helped built alot of the infrastructure. During the white Australian policy, Chinese people were treated as bottom class citizens. Not much is mentioned about this or even the countless deaths, including the fact that hundreds of Chinese men were sent to fight for the Anzacs. There was even a half Chinese Anzac named Billy Sing who was like a hero for short time but died alone, penniless in an impoverished bush hut. They made a movie about Billy Sing, but the movie makers made sure that the actor was completely white. Another Chinese who fought with distinction was Caleb Shang. He was awarded many medals for fighting with the Anzacs. But continued to be spat at and treated like dirt after the war.
