i work with a guy that is from sonora mexico. he speaks a little bit of english but it is probably the equivalent to a 4 year olds speech at best. i still get along better with him than anyone else at work and we have conversation just as much as anyone else. we just have to use a translator🤣 it all comes down to the fact that me and him are hard workers and want to chase our dreams in our lives. we share a like mindedness that allows it to not matter if we speak other languages.
The fact that the Sumo's wanted to remain friends with Steffan shows just how good and genuine of a guy he is. One question changed multiple people's lives.

@@Shindenize You are right. In the documentary they referred to them repeatedly as "Sumos" too. The opening clip see them saying in the car we must call them Rikishi. @@herrmannelig9033 This, they are not a big friendly family. Sumo is strict, there is a strict hierarchical way of doing things that is not shown in the video. The newer you are, the lower you are on the totem pole. You do all the chores, cook the food, do the shopping, cleaning, etc. AND have to do all the training on top of that. The higher rank you are, you get to take it easy and focus on your skills. So the good get better and the bad must strive harder to survive.

This is an awesome ancient form of fighting, and mad respect to these guys who dedicate their life to it and are just absolutely ferocious. I haven't watched much Sumo wrestling so I still haven't adjusted to constantly seeing gigantic celluloid - covered butt cheeks jiggling around all over the place. Crack city USA! I think I know what some of these guys had for lunch yesterday and could construct a 3-dimensional model of the contours of their ass, pimples included. OK, I'm done. Butts are funny, what can I say. Butt - I'm sure after watching it more I won't be so distracted by the big white butts and the 12 inch butt cracks to go halfway up their backs. Because the fighting itself is super impressive and cool to watch, and heck I'd love to try it sometime (and then it'll be my gigantic white butt flapping around with some weird fabric shoved into my crack). I used to do jui-jitsu and have done other martial arts and this one just seems incredible. The only thing is - I worry about how long these guys will live with the diets they eat. I hope I'm wrong and they all live super long and healthy lives :)

So I wouldn't say he is necessarily overpaid. Still a morally valid question to ask. Is anybody supposed to be paid that much, when there are people dying because they don't have anything?

guys in one of the top 2 divisions wear white during training so keep an eye out for that when watching these kinds of videos. It's why the others applauded at him holding out so well, he basically fought the star of that dojo. Onosho in particular has risen very high in the top division.
What an awesome peak into a once closed world. I was blown away by their actual strength that was only surpassed by their kindness and down-to-earth-ness. Plus, I’m really glad you guys “found” Steffan. He def is the ultimate dreamer. I’m sure his stay in the sumo stable blew his mind. Great video!!!
this was so cool to watch and i really enjoyed it, being a sumo wrestler takes so much commitment and it looks tough but the camaraderie seems so touching, what a strong community!
This was a FANTASTIC episode! Thank you for giving us this intimate view of this amazing sport, and the even MORE amazing men who dedicate their lives to Sumo. Just amazing!
Dude..... Yes Theory is so freaking cool. This is seriously so damn amazing. Bravo fellas
The part when Steffan and the Sumo wrestler were eating together but talking to each other through Google Translate was incredibly wholesome. What a beautiful group of people, I can't stop smiling ❤
I just love watching people break down barriers. Really hits me in the feels.
Fabulous! I smiled during the whole video. Beautiful coverage!
I really love how polite they were letting Thomas push em out , Japanese people are very polite
Staffan has a child-like wonder that instantly feels genuine ➡️ which leads to achieving closeness with others ➡️ therefore forming a connection. How beautiful! 💛
Doing stuff like this is a dream come true. Thanks for sharing the story! Experiencing stuff you’d never be able to normally be exposed to really opens up the world and teaches a better understanding.
Absolutely fascinating. Thank you so much!
Yet another great quality and insightful episode from the Yes Theory gang. Well done Staffan on going the extra mile. Also great to see Holly again. She is such a great fit for your group, it would be great to have her involved in more episodes.
Was astounded by how flexible they are. Congratulations to all the gentlemen willing to make the commitment.
the kindness and comradery shown between all of you is so genuine and sweet. makes me want to visit one day! thanks for the awesome content!
This is so refreshing and heartwarming. Love these guys
Thank you Thomas for your videos. It's probably the only KZread channel I'm really a fan of! I'm French and I've been inspired by your videos for my channel. I also made a list of 100 things to do before I die. I have a dream, I would like to meet Thomas, Ammar and Matt who really changed my vision of life. Thanks for all your likes on my comment, I hope Thomas, Matt and Ammar can read. Ben.

I had that same experience as you folks back in the 90’s when Akebono, musashimaru, takanohana, and wakanohana was Yokozuna . We were invited because one of my friends new the cook . The stable we visited , their number one sumo wrestler was Daizen . People in Japan said what we experienced, most Japanese will never experience. You need to be invited or very wealthy. It was such and honor and something I will never forget. I’m glad you folks experienced it as well . ❤❤❤

So many kind people in Japan. Even I'm back already few years ago, they still warm my heart.
What a beautiful episode guys! Great work! They were all so kind
Thank you for sharing the experience. This single episode created more value than my monthly Netflix subscription.

Hey buddy, thanks for the Super Like! We strive to bring these stories to life in the best way possible, and knowing that you believe it's adding more monthly value than your Netflix subscription is such a compliment! Thank you so much :) Going to let the editors know about it hah they will feel super happy!
I’m a 66 year old woman who is thoroughly enjoyed watching this program. Thank you so much for having the guts to do stuff like this and for being able to share this keep it up guys.
Beautiful video. Thank you for giving this wonderful sport the love and care it deserves.
Thank you so much for showing us such wonderful kind individuals and sharing their world…💕💐
Its so easy to judge from outside but they were so welcoming. no judgements just pure acceptance. Even with the language barrier. Such a beautiful thing
I had a terrible day, thinking about quitting my job, and this video put a huge smile on my face. Thanks guys I needed it!

what a beautiful video - my heart ist full, thank you - especially to Steffan!
what an honor to be part of something they hold so sacred. and how amazing to see that most of them seemed to be so friendly and welcoming, even when it is something that basically goes against their very strong traditions. what an amazing experience that must have been.
As a half Japanese dual citizen of Japan and America it brings me so much joy to see Yes Theory be so incredibly respectful in representing the richness of Japanese culture and the Japanese ethos of honor, excellence, tradition, and hospitality. Keep up the amazing work. Love from the Japanese.
This episode proves that Steffan deserves his spot on Yes Theory
This looks exceptionally hard. The fights, the training, the eating, etc. I do not think i ever saw a sport that made me feel so respectful for the work the athlete has to do. It is a shame that they are not granted more resources as this is a huge part of the japanese culture. The humbleness, the kindness, the respect, the determination, the strength and the dedication, not one word of complaint these men are all that is lacking nowadays in western civilisation.
This video really makes me see just how precious Steffan is. The vibes were so sweet, and it's just what I need today for my birthday. ♡
This is one of the dopest things I have ever seen. The fact that they allowed you guys to come in, film, and experience every aspect of it just goes to show how respectful you all are of traditions like this. I love these kinds of videos that give the average person a look into a lifestyle the have never or will never experience. Thank you for the INCREDIBLE content, keep it up!!!
It's been such a long time since I last felt this much moved by a YES THEORY's video. Don't get me wrong. You guys are as awesome as ever, but this episode, so raw and authentic, is a killer. Keep seeking discomfort and spreading positivity all over the place. Loveeee!

What a beautiful and amazing experience, thank you so much for a great job.
i think this is the best content i've seen on youtube ever made (going to a real place in the world and showing it, not just someone just speaking.) Thank you so much for your TRADE, LIFE AND WORK! and PASSION!
Steffan was a really great addition to the team, I think. It's so wholesome how the sumo house adopted him and basically made him family for the night. Also really rooting for all of the sumo wrestlers and especially the young Mongolian student. Hope his dream comes true someday.
the sleepover was phenomenal. Their respect, generosity put me to tears. Love the sumos.
I think this might be my favorite experience you all have ever shared. Steffan embodies every bit of Good Man
this video was amazing in all aspects. What a gift to be able to communicate with one another! Communication and life is an amazing thing!
That was just awesome! And that Steffan joined them for the rest of the day and night is even more! You guys are such an inspiration to say yes to more things in life. I hope one day I will be able to say Yes to more things in mine!
Steffan not only stepping up to the plate...but going above and beyond here!!! Well done!
This is my favorite video on the internet. I love everything about this extraordinary visit. I've never seen sumo in person and the sound of it during practice was beyond intense.
Excellent episode! The commitment, discipline, and dedication of the rikishi are awe inspiring. respect!
Stefan is such an asset to your mission. I felt like his overnight stay was really what made this a special inside look.
Being someone who has recently become physically disabled.. I have always wanted to explore the world as you all have. I am able to live though you guys and it brings a lot of joy. Thank you so much for amazing videos and your perspective of culture, environment, and people in the world around us. I enjoy all your videos. Keep up the extraordinary work.

This is the first and surely not the last video of yours I have watched. I found this interesting, heart warming and quite informative. Mark me down as a huge fan thanks for doing and sharing this!!
Awesome job! Absolutely loved this
Thomas doing everything he can against professional Sumo wrestler is something to behold. I wouldn't even have the guts to do that. And Steffan is a great addition to the team because he asks questions that people rarely asked.
It's so nice to see how kind the Sumo community is. They welcomed all of you and took in Steffan as one of their own. Just so great!!
This was amazing and very humbling!! Great job and thank you to the Sumo's !
This was incredible! Thank you!
