Well, I have been a primary school teacher and a sports coach for quite some time now and I have been interested in Korea since 2011. Never taken the plunge because I am close with my family and not spending Christmas with them would be tough. I always get emotional when I leave a class or a school (doesn't happen often) because, like you, we both cherish the bonds that are made. That really spoke to me in this video. IF I do take the plunge (probably not for another year) I will defo let you know :)@@queen_be

Hey queen, I’m really stressed and torn at the moment! . The issue lies with my parents, who are hesitant about me moving abroad. They are not supportive of the idea and are urging me to reconsider. I am at a crossroads and feeling a great deal of stress as today is the deadline for me to accept or decline the offer. I'm torn between pursuing my dreams and heeding my parents' concerns. I'm well aware that opportunities like this are rare, and I fear I may not get another chance like this. I'm genuinely unsure of what decision to make. Really don’t want to miss out this opportunity 😭

Aaaaw no 😭 I’m really sorry you’re going through this. A few months ago I had to speak to someone’s older sister to confirm that EPIK is an existing program etc. as they didn’t understand how their daughter must go off to another country without accomodation they can locate her at. Her parents were also not convinced about the program at all, but after a chat with her sister and me telling her I even have a KZread channel, she was able to speak to her parents. I think your parents are just concerned about you. Have you ever travelled abroad solo or been far away from home by yourself? Perhaps they see everything that’s on the media & are basing their opinions on that. If you decline the offer, you’re going to love in regret & will be super unhappy going forward. If you accept it, your parents will be upset, but they will eventually come around once they realise how happy you are. Sometimes we just need to put yourselves first, yes it’s tough to do something without your parents blessings, but how long will you pass up opportunities you want? At what stage will you do YOU and carve out your own path in life? Not sure if you’ve responded to EPIK yet, but let me know what you decided on. Aaag I hate the situation you’re in, but I know whatever you chose is something you’ll still be able to live with ❤️ so keep me posted, email me too or DM me on Instagram, we don’t have to talk here.
