I JUST FISHED 30 + HOURS ON SANTEE COOPER, LAKE MARION. HERE'S WHAT I KNOW, MUST WATCH FULL REPORT!

Спорт

Santee Cooper Lake Marion is home to some BIG bass and April is PRIME TIME for the spawn! We just wrapped up a 3 day fishing expedition so watch the full video for all the details on baits, areas, and current lake conditions. I'll have the full fishing video up in a few days. Please...I'm no pro and the lake has probably already changed by now so do your own due diligence; nevertheless, surely this will help someone fishing Santee in the next few days and into this weekend. Tight lines! Thanks for watching.

    Great video buddy. I have fished Jacks Creek for the past three years. Not one large mouth bass. I caught a lot of other stuff. Just not a bass. AWFUL experiences for me. Your trip looked fun.

    Well good luck, that sounds like a solid plan. From what we experienced, I wouldn't worry about running upper lake Marion while you are there. Its possible it could get right, but I think there are better areas to fish right now.

    Thanks for putting this up. Did you fish other areas at all? I an getting there Monday the 26th from VA. I am staying at Lake Marion Resorts on Webb's creek. I was going to target above the 95 bridges, as the talk on you tube is that is where the spawners are now, and that the lower lake is post spawn. I will wander into Eutaw creek as I used to stick em there...years ago. Sad to hear about the grass kill. I will let you know how I do the week of 26-30 April. What color Senkos were you using?

    Black blue laminate and black blue flek, we fished outside of Jacks some but only a few pockets around the main lake and in Polly Cantey Pond. I’ve never really done too well in the other creeks and cuts north of 95 and I didn’t want my buddy to wreck his boat on a stump exploring new water so we stayed in Jacks mostly, hindsight we should have just fished farther south, 100%. I hope your right about the spawners and catch a pile, they should have been in full swing when we were there, it was puzzling to see it all unravel. Tight lines!

    Hey man just wanted to put out there that I have fished the upper and lower lake all my life grew up here, seen people come and go but always return for the fishing. I have fished jacks and that whole area really hard 2020 through 2022 and currently at mill creek now and have not had any trouble catching numbers of reallly good fish, things change landscape, structures, and even the weeds. A better understanding of how fish think and what they expect is the key to catching fish man. The stuff they spray is vegetable oil base and fish love when they spray because it is affective at killing off the invasive grass really fast, it is different but as good as ever if you ask me good luck and keep grinding

    @@FillALimitFishing sorry for the questions man, but would you recommend braid on all rigs when I get there? There seems to be a lot of room for breaking off a good fish. @@CJones5050 I braid all top water applications and or anything I’m fishing around the grass or pads with. Swim jig, buzzbait, spinner bait, flipping, all braid. I use 20# floro when flipping trees with a senko, chatterbait, jig. 12# -14# on shallow cranks. I don’t think cranking with braid is necessary as you won’t be throwing it around grass. Current won’t be an issue. Everything really depends on where your putting in at, but if you staff off the main lake and stay within the creeks/cove you launch from you’ll be fine. South end of the lake is busier with pleasure boaters, there are some mammoth gators out there too but they shouldn’t be out too much this time of year or bother you for all that matter. Be careful, have fun and catch me up, awesome fishery.

    Santee can be fickle! Just like any fishery. I’ve had plenty of bad days there. I never really spent too much time there in November…most of my days were spent in the summer and early spring. If I was fishing there tomorrow I would probably be throwing a jig and crank bait at isolated patches of cypress trees and hoping for the best! Good luck bud. Tight lines.

  • @FillALimitFishing

    @FillALimitFishing

    2 жыл бұрын

    It is absolutely dangerous. It’s not the place to show off your horse power that’s for sure. I’ve blasted a stump myself and ruined a good fishing day. My advice is take it slow anywhere off the main lake and/or around the stump hole. May be best to trailer from different areas of the lake than making long runs. Main channels are generally good to run as far as I know but be careful even then around stumphole. Check water levels. Tight lines!

    They're probably trying to overkill now and let the fishery and vegetation build back up for many years rather than having to come out and spray every other year and continue to disturb the wildlife. Just my guess.
