Wow. Ive always said; one wave don't sink you on Santee, but that second and third wave might. Glad you're ok, glad the boat is floating, and glad you;'re back at it!!

That sounds like my luck. Glad it wasn’t worse. I’ve had to use a minnow bucket to bail out a boat once. Storm came up on us before we could get back to the ramp. Wave picked up the back of the boat and pushed it under another. Leveled it . Got enough water out with the bucket to get us back to the ramp. Great video Jimmy.

When I was building my boat I put 3 Bilge pumps in, 2 in the back 1 in the front, all are automatic with manual overide. I wired the automatic directly to the battery, the manual switch is wires through key on power. Glad you were able to get it back to the ramp! Can't wait to fish that lake.

Wow glad your boat wasn’t totaled. I’m a river fisherman but seeing this taught me a lesson for when I start lake fishing and camping.

This is exactly why I never leave my boat on the bank overnight. I fish Lake Moultrie almost every day in the spring and summer and I’ve been in situations where it has gone from completely flat to 3+ foot waves in a matter of seconds. More than once. The weather here is unpredictable.

My father in law and I did this years ago. Once we were able to get the boat floating we took off down the lake and pulled the plug which sucked the water out of the boat while we were moving then put the plug back in from the inside. It actually drained rather quickly. On a side note..this would never be a problem with a Pontoon boat.. I love mine...

Most important thing is everyone is ok . I always run a automatic pump with a manual backup bilge I can flip on by switch. I had a similar accident years ago happened and bout froze my rear end off saving the boat. Extra bilge is definitely worth what little they cost.

I feel you with the freezing you butt off , had to push the boat out about 150 feet to get it running because it was so shallow there. Extra bilge ordered . Thanks for watching bud

When ever I had my deep aluminum boat I installed a automatic bilge and a manual bilge just for that situation and for the storms that catch you on the lakes.
