I have had this disease for 11 years. I went 3 years untreated, it is truly horrible. Having to plan your entire life around bathroom breaks every 30 minutes to an hour and constantly having to have a drink with you. I felt like a burden to other people. I was waking up 12-15 times during the night to use the bathroom. Once doctors finally figured out what was wrong (Diabetes Insipidus) I was put on a medication called Desmopressin, and it completely changed my life. I’ve been on it for the last 8 years and I rarely have to use the bathroom at night anymore. And I can now go hours without using a bathroom and I went from drinking 10 gallons of water a day to around a half gallon or so. I know exactly what this man has been going through

This drug only works for people with central diabetes insipidus (body does not produce or produces very less ADH). It will not work for the patient in the video as his ADH is being produced normally but the ADH receptors in his body don't respond to ADH. So it does not matter how much you give it to him

God delivered me from depression and scuicide praise God in Jesus Almighty Name Amen All have done evil “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) The penalty for sin is hell (Revelation 21:8). Because of Gods love for us Jesus Christ came down from heaven to take the punishment for our sin on the cross in which he was spat on, beaten, mocked and laughed at. Christ died for the sins of the world and The third day God raised him from the dead (Praise God). This was done so that those who believe on Christ will not perish (hell) but have life everlasting (heaven); be justified by Gods grace through redemption in Christ (John 3:16) (Romans 3:24). The blood Jesus shed on the cross washes away our sin if we Believe in The Son of God and his finished work (ordained by God) on the cross. When this happens the believer receives the righteousness of Christ in place of their own unrighteousness (all sins are forgiven) and this makes them saved (going heaven) and they are born again as a Christian. (Romans 3:25-26

My wife has this, and she takes a prescription called DDAVP and it helps a lot, although she was never as severe as this guy. No doctors believed her growing up and we only found out after our son was born. We needed to have an emergency c-section and while she had a catheter the nurses noticed how much water she was drinking and how often she peed, so they have a specialist come in. We were told it was very rare, and then last year my brother in law also got diagnosed, so 2 in the same family. She still needs a lot of water and goes to the bathroom more than the average person but it's not affecting day to day life anymore.

What this guy has is actually a different condition than your wife. If your wife is taking DDVAP, that means she likely has central or neurogenic diabetes insipidus. Her body doesnt produce ADH. She can take synthetic ADH (such as DDVAP) and she is able to be closer to baseline (some are pretty much able to be normal). The guy in the video has nephrogenic or renal diabetes insipidus, which is WAY worse. His kidneys dont respond to ADH. He cant take a synthetic hormone to manage it. He is likely taking thiazide diuretics which can partially manage the disease, but it will not be nearly as reliable as things like DDVAP for central diabetes insipidus. Not to say that your wife has it easy, but this guy's disorder is just on a different level.

This guy isn't lying when he talks about how intense the thirst gets. I should also probably clarify, I have the somewhat easier to handle version of his condition, my kidneys themselves work fine, my brain is the issue, it doesnt produce the needed chemical , so i can take it in pill form to alleviate the affects.
