DEFO A&E TRIPS FOR MANY IF PEOPLE BUY THESE AS XMAS MUST HAVES . They are not toys and let’s not forget everyone has different skill levels ( putting it nicely)

Yes please anyone considering one also be aware the fumes from these can be incredibly toxic, especially when using it on random materials - even dedicated ‘laser cutting’ specific materials are still intended to be cut in fully enclosed and ventilated machines. ‘Makers Muse’ did a good video about this recently.
When the laser is set up in its final position, use it to mark out a grid and zero point on the base.
Suppose you could even put masking tape over board lid / cover before engraving, let it engrave then spray with a rattle can and could colour the writing what ever colour you wanted to stand out 😎
Okay, this is cool.

Very impressed with this!
That’s Awesome bit of kit & Great investment to Add your logo, Nice one Nick 👊
That is very impressive. Great idea on the board branding. 👍
I think it would be cool when you give away stuff to your subscribers that ur branding is on it 🤙👍
Good call on battery engraving. My sparks and his mate were marking their dewalt ones during my rewire, with a sharpie. Shame that wipes off with a big-wipe.
Thanks for sharing this with us take care
Looks like a nice job (and great to play with!) I'd like to see how it does labelling metal face-plates; things like above counter switches or FSUs for below counter appliance outlets and such like. Maybe on brushed steel or antiques brass-effect finishes?
Maybe for a future/higher spec model, the laser could scan a curved or uneven product so it'd have a 3D model, and then when printing on curved products, the laser could raise/lower to match the curvature (is that a word) to engrave more evenly. But this is some serious next level business Nick

wrong. Already exists. It's software based. Simultaneous 3-axis machining. You have a stock and you have a profile to trace over/ontop of it. People already show how to do it. You can use your smartphone as a camera to make a 3D model of the stock if you don't feel like making a digital estimation of it.
Be careful with that thing, sight is precious
I must buy one.
Interesting video thank you. Like you I have struggled with bought and brought, the way I remember is “brought” comes from the word “bring” and both start with the letters br and therefore the sound br……. I hope that makes sense?!!!
That looks awesome 😎 a diary with uncle nicks face on jhhheezzzzz
Hi that was awesome to see how you can put your logo on the fuse cover why don't you do all you tools like your screw drivers
This so cool 🤓
I bought it and brought it home.
Open frame laser cutters/engravers are really unsafe. Fumes, diffuse and direct reflected energy. This is why proper laser cutters/engravers cost thousands. Interlocks, extraction. Etc.

If you set it up properly, use the correct PPE and have good area venting then it's fine. This isn't something that they expect people to use constantly, just a thing for infrequent use by educated people who can't justify the full priced units.

@@AndrewStrydomBRP I know Andrew. They *can* be used safely, I’m just worried about a video titled “You Need to Buy This” and this ending up on Christmas gift lists for people who have had no high-power photonics experience or training. I’m not a fan of “banning” anything due to knee-jerk safety concerns, within reason. I used a laser cutter (a proper, enclosed system) in a professional environment before and the risk register for that was huge. They’re very cool and very exciting tech, but if my/our words of caution make even one person do a bit more due diligence before buying/using one of these, I’d say that’s worth me sounding like a bit of a miserable sod for a brief moment.

@@damowdotnet I do agree with you there, giving this to someone who doesn't know what they're doing is like giving an SDS to a kid.
You could engrave where the battery connects to the tool
Nice! Don't see the air assist on the UK website (or accessory pack for that matter) - are they planning on adding them do you know?
Id love to see the giveaway tools engraved with NB, plus the name of the winner and some of your of your social links. Its a giveaway so if you can engrave them for the winners and promote your content at the same time

I purchased this unit after watching your post. Mine arrived and I assembled it plugged it in and nothing happened,I tried connecting it to my laptop and tried to get it working for several hours but with no success. Tried contacting Creality but all I get is automated response saying they will contact me but the don’t Not a good experience after spend £500 of my hard earned cash. Wish hadn’t bought it now . Looks like I’m going to have a battle trying to get my money back as the after sales is shockingly bad

Do you lose the warranty on the fuse boards by laser engraving them?
Ive seen another youtiber that bult one of these ina wooden box with a orange tinted plastic tondefuse the laser light
@ruskythegreat
Жыл бұрын
Orange tinted plastic does not make it safe. The material needs to be certified for the wavelength of the laser you're using.
I had a fool try to take my DeWalt battery and swap it with their well used one. I also mark the inside of my tools drills impact drivers. They guy had stolen a battery belonging to the guy I was working with them says he saw me with it. So I show all mine he says I bet you it has this mark on it. I show it no mark but the mark inside. Also had a guy saying my insulation tester was from there fan. He did think I got it knock off I got it new. Tool theft is bad an shop buying them is just as bad.
😎👌
Make a QR code of your details then use this on your tools
Only £509, quite cheap. Half the price of a smartphone and it'll last a long long long time.
First!
Amount of time and effort wasted, buy your logo stickers, stick it on. Save yourself all this faff 🤣
You talk too much my friend
Check your country laws, because people have been engraving tools for years and it does not void the warranty.
pro-tip NEVER. TRUST. KIT. GOGGLES. Buy yourself a reputable pair of goggles and test them. If the laser can go through them and burn even a piece of paper, you're at risk of losing your eyesight.
@ruskythegreat

Agreed! I see too many people think that glasses are safe because they are dark or the maching has an orange perspex lid. they associate the tint with it being safe.

@@ruskythegreat that's why i dont mess with lasers.I don't have the correct equipment to ensure laser safety. Don't have a spectrometer or a power meter, or reputable supplier of safety goggles. I'd have to wear an improvised helmet that uses a camera externally to protect me :p
Implicate suggests the machine was involved in a crime. im·pli·cate /ˈimpləˌkāt/ verb 1. show (someone) to be involved in a crime. "police claims implicated him in many more killings"
