Nick, love the work as always, but at some point you will come acropper plastering HDMI's into a wall, they do fail, I've had it personally and have never done it since. At a minimum run some 25mm flexible conduit (We normally use 40mm wherever possible/New Build) through the wall, chase it in, you can get ultra slim HDMIs that will pull through it relatively easily (Pick some up and test first), plus it means they can pull audio and ethernet through as well. I'd always advise running a HD-BaseT solution, but the budget isn't always there, but absolutely do make sure any conduit used is able to fish a replacement cable through.

What was the reasoning for 35mm switch boxes? Was it for smart relays behind the switch fronts?

watching this video made my blood boil! An excellent report from N Bundy Electrical for showing it for what it is. As a Certified electrical engineer and member of the IET, with 48 years service in the electricity supply industry and also being a full SAP for both NG and DNO, I have lived and worked with the Regs throughout my entire career and some of you reading this will understand what I mean when I say you live with rules and the regulations 24 hours a day - you never switch off. Having now retired, I have been giving a great deal of thought to obtaining the latest qualifications in the 18th edition, L3 NVQ Electrical Installation and L3 NVQ Inspections which I know wont be easy!!! It absolutely infuriates me to see work like this in this video and it is my guess that the people who did this were clearly NOT fit, and probably NOT competent nor qualified to do such work but, if they were bonified and certified electricians, they should be struck off the authoritive body's register forthwith! It frustrates me no end to think even with my decades of experience and competencies, I would still need to study/train for the appropriate qualifications before I could carry out any "reportable" work.

who ever put that kitchen in was not thinking --- i would have totally rewired it and put the sockets in better spots -- got to say some excellence work in doing all that drilling behind the tiles and all them chase's beats a hammer and chisel + hammer drill -- these are things they never teach you when doing any of the trade courses in college --- keep it up

As tomorichard says, the zones extend through the wall, so when drilling see whats on the other side, and no need to create a new zone, it doesn't hurt though, better to be safe than sorry. Did he consider trunking with that amount of sockets. Good job buddy.
