Thank you for documenting this historic event for future generations. I spent an hour on this unexpectedly at 3 am and we only ended up clearing thanks to the guidance of a Fandaniel Roleplayer who was the only person who knew what was going on.

I was once on a group that ignored the mech and kept dpsing him, killing him just as curtain call finished, so we died at the same time and the game counted it on our favor.

I accidently ended up in there before it got fixed. It took us 3 tries but we got it literally right at the same time the curtain call bar filled and killed him. It was a fun challenge, kind of wish there was more like that!

@@lepierce3 there is more like that, Quite a lot! But they are high-end content. If you do it at the time it is released you will have a lot of those moments! I have a TEA clear where we finished The Epic of Alexander after his enrage animation, which created a beautiful scene for a few seconds after his death :D

Now they need to make Amon Ultimate and have this be an actual mechanic.

As far as I'm concerned Amon Savage isn't a bug, it's a feature.

I heard about the glitch and decided to hardqueue in as a WHM to see Amon Savage. It was almost all vipers and pictos, with one alliance having a summoner. The run was scuffed as hell but we managed to clear it after many tries, mostly thanks to the best SGE there has ever been. I successfully was rezzed after Curtain Call on the winning run and spent like five minutes chain-frozen and frogged. It was hilarious and absolutely worth it. 10/10 calamity would faithfully recreate

Amon Savage was really Hermes's magnum opus of saying screw you. Rip.

the difference between Amon Savage and normal is that Savage is consistent; regular Amon relies on three players choosing not to press the only button they're given

When my roulette cleared his phase of the raid the whole alliance went ballistic in the chat lmao

Even in a new expansion Amon is still causing us no end of trouble. : /

When I saw the bug, I immediately qued circus tower to force random strangers to try it with me. A few left, but after 2 wipes we cleared it in our third try with the ress strat. It was the most hilarious run I had in a long time in ffxiv and I'm so glad I could record it so I could share it with friends that missed out on it and also watch back on it in the future.

There also was an instance back in Endwalker (I think) where The Dragon's Neck - the trial against Ultros and Typhon - would be extremely difficult to clear. Instead of getting stunned for a few seconds when you get ring out'd, you would get KO'd instead. You couldn't get revived either - something about the arena made it impossible to have Line of Sight from inside the ring to outside the ring. Fun times when everyone had to suddenly figure out how to do the trial! Can't believe Amon is so salty about Endwalker that he murks the Warrior of Light in the past with shenanigans like this, though.

There was also the idea of having a PLD cover one (or more, with extra PLDs) of the healers so they could get off a rez after. We did that one. Worked very well for AST who kinda just lightspeed and chainrezzes people to hell. Still failed because there's.. a lot going on at that point. But it was a possibility.

The first thing I did when entering dawntrail was roulettes, so it was super fun to discover this bug before it was well-known. I play on JP servers too (Tonberry) so we had to deal with the language barrier when trying to figure out the solution. We out-DPSed him after about 3 tries.

Fun tidbit - warping into the next fight when it closes off does not remove debuffs - my one run our alliance had 3 little popsicles twiddling our thumbs with Xander

This actually kind of made the encounter fun for healers and dps. Healers had to be creative and time reraise and dps had to unga bunga damage. Either strat was a nice change of pace

This is the first time I've seen the real you and I've never been happier, also I got this AR on release we eventually brute forced it before ancient flare went off so it's possible a few ways

This one was so funny watching on your stream the other day. I can't believe it. I did play this alliance raid at about 4:00 a.m. about 2 hours after the release of Dawn trail and we did it twice. Trying to figure out how to beat it and never made it. Everybody ended up just leaving the the raid. It was just so funny though

Amon Savage was my favourite Syrcus Tower run and now I want Amon Savage to be real.

Missed opportunity to use Amon's "the end has come" line for curtain call

Nobody in my Roulette managed to accept their res at the correct time so we just kept wiping. After 10 attempts we abandoned the run, and it was 2 minutes after the reset, making my PCT levelling self quite sad lol

I got this raid just an hour after servers were up and it took 3 attempts, coordinating burst, and for those who had it, food and pots for my alliance to kill him before curtain call. Watching all the frozen people get teleported into Xandes room was funny too

fun fact if you have a paladin they can use cover on a healer and they would live curtain call

​​​@@GENOSANDIEGONo, redirected damage goes through invuln So it might stop the PLD from dying to Curtain Call directly (or it might not, most instakill mechanics go through invuln), but Cover would definitely kill them regardless

I too did Amon Savage. We progged it, took like 5 times but we did it. But yeah, rez saving was real. I had done it with roulettes. But we did it!

It would be kind of interesting if the devs see stuff like the strategy to beat the glitch and base some future raid solutions around it. I'm pretty sure the recent Destiny raid did something with death that really usurped peoples expectations of how the mechanic worked?

My raid leader had me use Cover as PLD to eat Curtain call.on his behalf. Was a good time

Heard about this bug literally just before we got to Amon on launch day for a roulette, hashed out a quick strategy of when to burst and killed him first try before Curtain Call went off. I haven't gotten Syrcus since then though.

I didn't expect the first video with the new and improved Cider Spider to be about a stupid Crystal Tower glitch that happened because the ice blocks couldn't be rendered in HD. I am so glad I did not get Syrcus Tower in my alliance roulettes the past two days.

I did this with the rush strat. We managed before Curtain Call went off by a second. The cheers were genuine and glorious!

me and a friend got Syrcus Tower in roulettes on day 1, and together managed to organized the other 22 strangers to complete what we called The Minstrel's Ballad: Amon's Revenge, easily some of the most fun we've had playing in a good while

Sycrus Tower was my first AR that I got for dailies. Our group wiped 5 times before people managed to burn him down before Curtain Call ended.

I randomly found party in duty finder wanting clowns for that fight, I quickly went and pulled out his entire armor set and I swear he definitely was tunneling me for wearing it better because I consistently was being frozen the 4 tries it took to clear him.

Another way to do this is to just zerg amon before he can cast curtain call. 7+ pictomancers seemed to do it, but you could probably use reapers too. He doesn't do it until 25%, and you can easily kill him with their insane damage.

My group encountered the glitch on Amon too. We wiped three times before being we were able to clear the bugger

Amon savage was honestly the most fun I had in a long time. Too bad it was patched, I will miss it. It made me thing how amazing would it be to have hard content of the normal content as a separate thing.

I love Amon (Ultimate) queue'd in as a AST and got 6 comms out of it. Highlight of my day when it was still up.

I'm so glad I was able to beat Amon (Savage) before they patched it. It was a very hype clear with the rez strat, and it was very funny dealing with Xande afterward as an afterthought.

That is exactly what happened to me, day 1. First time, we wiped... second time, we legit only /just/ managed to beat the DPS check, with food + potion.

I really enjoyed playing Amon savage, the dopamine hit after finally killing the boss afterrr we tried to survive for the 4th time was amazing. 10/10 bug would love to see it again~

I got to experience it twice. Once via skip curtain call and the other sacrifice strat. 10/10 most fun I have had in the Crystal tower raids for a long time. Also fitting Amon decided to harass us one final time after Endwalker 😂

I managed to do this fight day 2 of early access. It was a hell of a lot of fun

My duty finder group managed to beat him by saving our burst for the curtain call cast and using pots. He still got the cast off and killed us all but the DoTs killed him before he reset.

I got to see this before the patch, got it in rain roulette. After 2 attempts, enough time had passed and we vote disbanded lol.

A shame that RDM doesn't get VerRaise until 64. They would have made it a cake walk. But this glitch is hilarious to watch. While I can't play until I upgrade my pc, or get an Xbox 1, I'm glad I got to see Amon Savage in video.

0.6% was the closest I saw the fight, before people started leaving.

I did this fight with the glitch the other day it was super chaotic but it was so fun

Guess I should que'd it didn't think it be fix outside of a patch. Roulette never put me in it.

The real strat is clearly to stall the fight long enough so that a healer can LB3 after the curtain call.

Me and my friends went there via alliance raid roulette on 28th. We got lucky we had a group willing to retry the DPS check on Amon. Got trough it on the fourth try x)

Ive never gotten amon before, got sent into him once and it happened to be while he was glitched. We almost got it too.

The raid i was in chose to quit after trying the meme strat twice.

I filled in as healer on the ammon fight as bugged, it was interesting walking in blindly to that. We cleared it 😅

The freaking Lahabrea voiceline on Amon is so fitting, was that edit or a mod?

A long time ago I had a chad tank in this raid that would run around and make the boss spin in a circle , thus making them do 0 mechanics. It was the most amazing cheese I had ever seen and have never seen anyone else attempt it, either cause it was patched cause it was a long time ago or just because no one knows about it, or worse case, it’s some sort of bannable offense. I’ll never forget it though.
