One of the veeeeeery few times I wouldn't be upset with someone raging. Though it is just something you would have to laugh about. 'I was doing my raid roulette and some baby noob punched the party in the face with a bomb.'

watching people who are first timers/ forgotten is always amazing. This is a boss that you have to do the mechanics or won't win.

Fun fact! In the first section of Sohm Al hard, if you position the mobs over the geysers, the mobs will get an armour down debuff allowing you to kill them faster!

Man the rant about how everything is getting minimalist is so read. I remember the fast food strip in my town being so colorful and gaudy. You have McDonalds and the red roof. You had Burger King and the big slanted roof. You had Taco Bell's big purple roof. Now, like you said, everything is so sterile and looks like an office building. It's sad.

Same with Shrink. For the poison phase it won't kill you outright. The poison has to get enough stacks to kill you and turning into a frog clears them all. So I like switch back and forth quickly and keep dpsing as much as I can during that phase.

@@KageCM Wait until 6 stacks, then step on-off-on and you'll be fine the rest of the phase. As for the mini there's no reason to swap back. Unlike most minis in the game you don't actually do less damage like that.

Fun minor speed strat for Tower of Babil: In the phase where you need to be a frog? You don't have to stay a frog. 8 stacks of suffocate will insta kill you, and the phase only lasts long enough to give 14. What does that mean? Ignore the mechanic until you have 6 stacks. Tap the frog square to remove the stacks. Tap it again to become human again. (This whole process takes up about 3 stacks worth of time) You can now ignore that phase exists. There's not enough time for it to suffocate you to death.

Honestly, your rant around 8:00 about colorful cool things being turned into office buildings? YES.

5:00 the shield from brutal shell is unlocked at level 54, at 49 in aurum vale you only get the heal. Basically, before heavensward, brutal shell is physick, after heavensward it is adloquium.

Just something about him standing in a lightning until it kills him, instead of even trying to move away, and still accidently passing the raid amuses me.

Whenever i would get Prae i would anyways open with "Welcome to FFXIV; the Movie the Game. Hope you all brought popcorn" i would them go on a rant about a Garlean soldier "Bob" who was 2 days to retirement. A conscripted who epithelial me or for revenge given another expansion or two. I also liked playing my own version of "Praetorium bingo" based on party composition and what happened

7:17 I remember those days.. . the hours I've slammed my face in a IRL wall, gripping my whiskey. Yes.

Pretty sure FF14’s Anima model is either straight imported from FF10 with better textures or painstakingly recreated from the original.

i kinda miss OG Castrum Meridianum. Like, yeah, it was stupid long and was bursting with unskippable cutscenes, but it FELT like you were doing something that was suppose to be hard to do, breaking into a heavily guarded Imperial Stronghold built to defend an even bigger Imperial Stronghold, it FELT like one of the final dungeons for a base game MMO. Now it just feels like a normal dungeon with some lack luster defenses that can be dealt with by knocking over a power line.

I loved tanking that place. There was that one really spicy pull towards the end where you had the entire Imperial army chasing you for like half a minute and all you could hope for is that the healers understood to pop their sprints as well. Then there was that iron giant boss where you could time your stuns perfectly to completely skip the invulnerability phases. I do miss the janky charm of the old MSQ roulette dungeons.

I just had john healer in leviathan in trials lette and he kept saying let's heal all over this anytime someone spoke to him 😂

Don't forget about the cutscene where Cid fires the Magitek and it dies and he says "The armor was hastily rewired. I blame Marques." (Marques was the name he went by he had amnesia.)

I remember the platforms in ST's second boss, was kind of a fun mechanic, the boss' main platform would become the floor is lava from memory recall, so you had to go out onto the platforms and jump across them defeating adds, even in ARR after a while though we skipped this mechanic.

2:29 you can transform back to being a human early if you touch the frog pad again. So you can avoid sitting still and doing nothing and go back to hitting the boss. To optimize this you can turn into a frog briefly at first at the 6th stack and quickly hit the pad again to go back to being normal and the stacks wont get high enough to kill you.

The hilarious thing about Glasya Labolas is that he may theoretically have mechanics but even the Solo Only run of it, with just 15 people with all their solo restrictions, STILL never saw any of them. You'd have to go unimaginably slow to see them. Also, short 60 for me is Antitower

The minimalist movement is entirely about 2 things: 1) Save money by doing less - flat art is quick and cheap and easily done for pennies by bad artists. It saves money. Same for square buildings with ornamentation. Red/purple roofs or signage you can't remove easily and use elsewhere will hurt resale value on the commercial property. Grey blocks can be used by anyone. 2) Appeal to "wider audience" - Bright colors attract children, sure, but they're divisive among adults. Better to make everything as inoffensive and bland as possible to ensure wide generalized appeal than to cultivate a specific audience and limit your customer base.

By the way for those people that are getting into tower of babil the 2nd boss its plates you have to step on to either turn into frog or shrink can be stepped on again to revert you back to normal since frog you cant do anything with and being shrunk actually lowers your damage by quite a bit. could help speed up your runs with this one simple trick yoshi-p doesn't want you to know about

I was actually terrified, doing my Khloe book last week, because it was the first time in years that 3 lines *wouldn't* get me a gold certificate, since I didn't have any job at level cap yet. I was like "this is gonna be the week where Khloe *finally* gives me 3 lines, and I won't even be able to get anything for it!" Thankfully, Khloe only gave me 1 line, so nothing was wasted.

I just got my first book last week, and...uh. Most of Khloe's expectations are higher than my ranks. (MCH 41, DRK 50, DRG & BRD & SAM 57, WHM 59, WAR & PAL 60. I'm trying to get everything but BLU to 60 before I try to take on Ascian Prime.)

"Keeping medica II uptime" hurts me deep in my WHM soul.Medica II is like Succor - if you're casting it, something unfortunate is happening. At level 1-60, regen the tank and it'll handle most everything (same as you're used to selene doing). Medica II isn't needed unless the whole party is at 60, you don't need regen anymore either. Bubble + assize + tetra + benediction takes care of most dungeon and raid healing.

For Tower of Babil, if you move back onto the image that made you a frog/mini, it will undo it

You can actually re-step on the squares too remove frog/mini in Tower of Babil. Also you can use Knock Back Prevention (Arms Length or Surecast) during the anima fight! It's pretty nice tbh for dps uptime haha

Once we took on the pack of colossi and won. It was amazing.

17:00 one person have to get electrocuted at tower, which spawns those two collored circles. Gorrila to slap bombs away, bird for the "Boost" boss attack as bird wont get hit by ground attack in the air.

For serious. Thing that resonated the most with me is fast food going all dark and corporate. Taco Bell, McDonald's, both look so sad and dark. I miss the happy bright days of fast food. At least I could feel less depressed about clogging my arteries 🤣. Edit: also using Dancing Mad in The Vault just seems to fit better than I'd ever have thought.

I do and don't miss being able to just skip all the cutscenes in Castrum/Prae. Skipping ruined my first playthrough, all I could do was watch a quarter of the cutscene before it would force skip into the next, I had no idea what was going on and got more and more mad as the dungeon went on until I just got up and went afk during the run. It was until they made it all unskippable that I actually got the see the full cutscenes and understood what was happening.

Yeah it makes sense why they made the cutscenes unskippable, but boy was Praetorium long in the old days. Always wished there was a compromise where you'd only have to watch the cutscenes if someone was actually new, and if everyone was a vet you'd be able to just do w/e.

Art of war is one of the most satisfying spells in the game, which is good considering how much you spam it in dungeons.

I was able to do Warrior & Viper for MSQ for leveling. My Roulettes (Leveling, MSQ, Alliance) for Healer. My next Job I am gonna level is my endwalker Main Summoner

There are some fights where you can easily kill your team ^.^ Btw. Amon savage can still be done - if you get one of the frogs to "save" their frozen team mates ;)

Twinkledinks will build vuln stacks on the tanks, so it's one of the few fights that requires tank swapping.

I learned that White Mage had a gap close from this video, I have played this class for 6 years.

Doubt you will read this but in the event that you do... That twinkledinx battle.... The part you added sound effects on when he was doing AOE ground slams, everybody is expected to turn into a bird at that phase, and occasionally you have to step in the lightning to prevent it from chaining like that. But other than that, you had the gist of it

As someone who kind of knows the mechanics for Alex 6, that run was incredible. I have never seen someone go gorilla mode and then actively yeet the bomb into the middle of the party XD. Not sure how that first wipe happened tbh. Does the tower in the middle go berserk if no one stands near it to drop the potions for long enough?
