Ya'll have been asking for the reason why I don't like instant Locs and loc extensions and why my parents don't like my Locs... Here it is!!!
My first loc journey began with instant Locs via the crochet method. It ended with loc extensions. Before using any of these methods, watch this video. WATCH TIL THE END!!!

Thank you for sharing. I am currently 3 months into my journey and it DEFINITELY exposes all the hidden insecurities. I got instantlocs and I am pleased with how they look, but it was shocking to see the amount of length that is lost during the process. My loctician convinced me NOT to get extensions because she said I would love my hair more without them and she thought I had a nice length to start. I do love my Locs, but having short locs is a whole mental struggle that i didn’t even anticipate . I can’t WAIT for these babies to grow! Thanks for sharing not only your hair journey, but also your mental struggles/growth! I love your channel!

Congrats on starting your journey! I definitely agree, I wish there was a way for us to mentally prepare ourselves for Locs. I love that your loctician was honest with you, I feel like I was talked into certain methods because the stylist wanted more money. I didn't know what to expect but I certainly didn't expect that! Some people rock short Locs well, but going in with a head full of hair really humbles you 😭 Thanks so much for watching 💚

I enjoyed this video. It’s refreshing to have a loc’d person be honest about their journeys & how they felt. It’s relatable and I love that. I’m 8 months loc’d and I’m happy. It hasn’t been easy bc I’ve come across a couple insensitive people but that’s life. I’m happy & confident ❤️ Just continue to be yourself & love your locs ❤️

i feel fine. My mom instant locd my hair and its been 5 months so far. The only reason why I was thinking of getting loc extensions (for me, that's either buying afro hair and making the loc extension myself or buying already made loc extensions and installing them myself since I know how to do it and I taught my mom how too) IS because I have hightop locs (growing locs from a pixiecut) and have 30 locs so far and now I want to add 15 more and that will make 46 locs but still keep some of my shaved sides. It would look very weird if I had loc 7 inches worth of locs, then you see 15 loc nuggets (locs that are less than 2 inches) all around my head and then a fade. So I feel like the loc extensions will at least make everything look uniform. But thank you for sharing your experience.

I'm sorry you had this experience with instant locs! I actually started both of my sets that way (first set was 2.5 yo when I combed them out), now I am a week loc'd. I chose instant locs because I'm Italian and here there's no such thing as a loctitian, so it was the easiest way. I actually experienced the budding stage even with instant locs towards the 6 months mark and eventually they got much thicker! Anyways, I love yours, you look amazing.

Thank you for sharing. I love your channel! I inadvertently started mine with interlocking (I knew little about the starting techniques; the loctitian made the decision all by himself). I sometimes really wish I had started with a more organic method. I'm only 9 months in and my hair is still pretty short, but I want to be patient as I've never actually been patient with my hair. I stopped interlocking before the two-month after I realised what technique he was using and that I was uncomfortable with it. I'm really hoping my hair turns out good or I might have to comb it out and start again, which would be sad. I never liked fussing with my unloced hair. I've committed time and love into these locs and I want to see them flourish. Most days I love them, but some days it's a full-on crisis.
