I Got My Dirty Scalp DEEP CLEANED
Ойын-сауық
Today I went to get a deep scalp cleaning and it was scary but also pretty amazing. They scanned my scalp, then steamed it and blasted away all the oil from the hair follicles. Plus I got an amazing head massage and hair wash as well, very ASMR! The treatment is very popular in East Asia, and the store I visited, Dr. Scalp, is one of the few places in North America that does it the way it’s done there. It’s a Korean brand but it’s also quite popular among the Chinese community, hence why I’m speaking Chinese.
This video isn’t sponsored by Dr. Scalp, but I genuinely had a great time there and if you’re interested in checking them out you can visit them at 86 Canal St, New York, NY 10002. They also have a location in Flushing, Queens: 135-16 Roosevelt Ave, 4th floor, Flushing, NY 11354.

I see a lot of comments bashing this as a scam and talking about how it's stripping away the protective oils on the hair, but I think that's sort of missing the point. This strikes me as more of a massage service. 90% of the video is just an epic massage, and a very good one. The removal of the oil could be a gimmick to make you feel "clean", but that is a nice feeling and not a big deal since the oil will come back. No harm in cleaning the pores from time to time, this looks sick.

I've only watched the first minute so far and what you're seeing on your scalp is normal and healthy. Oil? If you didnb't have oil in your hair, it would be all dry and nasty. You NEED oil in your hair. Dead skin? Again, all normal (and your's are actually extremely normal and healthy). The fact that she answered you and said that maybe you don't wash it enough??? Doctors say that unless you are doing a lot of physical work, you only need to wash your hair once every few days in order to help keep the oil levels at a normal healthy amount. Ugh, I'm afraid at how cringy this video is going to be. Please don't over-wash and keep your hair at actual healthy levels.

"every few days" may be best for you, but everyone's scalp, oil production, hair texture and the products they use are different. Just like with skin, having dead skin and excess oil together could lead to other issues like dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis. Generally speaking, one could oil their hair before washing, which bonds with oils and dead skins and softens the scalp and hair, massage with a gentle shampoo, twice if necessary, and use a light conditioner. I think east asian people often recommend to wash frequently because of pollution, climate, and lower porosity hair, but that's guessing.
