Izzy is a smart guy who realizes the aimlessness of being a champion better than most, but hearing him getting bored in fights isn't a great thing to hear going into this fight.

This is all cope. He's nothing but excuses when he loses or is boring. The TRUTH is after Costa he was on Usada radar for Gyno and had to go off cycle. Thats why when he leg kicks Costa, a Brazilian he left bruises. But he landed tons of midsection shots to Jan, a pollack, and couldn't even mark him. He knew he was close to getting busted. Oh and he has gyno again so he'll look good against Whittaker

I don't believe this "bored" shit coming from Adecomastia at all, and his Gynecologist should have given him a better story than "It's from smoking weed" regarding the titty fiasco. Its just not plausible, nobody believes it. It was a ridiculous story to give. EDIT: Yes, I know you can get gynecomastia from more than just steroid use but if you are going to give an excuse choose a more plausible one rather than the one you think will sound coolest to your 16 year old fans.

Yes, he does make a reference to being "bored", first in the Vettori 2 fight (saying that Vettori was being defensive and not trying to win) and again in the Jan fight. But then he goes on to say he has cut out the deadweight and is feeling reinvigotated. I think he was just riffing in a long interview and we can't take every single word so seriously.

He was having flashbacks of Pereira knocking him out cold in kickboxing maybe. Or the fact at that point, before Glover handled him easily, "legendary polish power" was literally a thing. Izzy is full of crap. I believe Marvin wasn't a challenge but I think he felt "bored" with jan because he knew he was beat and was fighting defensively on the feet so he wouldn't get finished. Jan beat him on the feet and dominated him on the ground and izzy knew that.

I believe him when he says he was “Bored” against Jan bc he was saying even before they fought that he wasn’t even trying to be Champ Champ, the fight kind of fell on his lap bc Cannonier lost to Whittaker. I personally think Marvin Vettori is a boring fighter in general, I mean his most exciting fight was Paulo Costa and Costa made it that way. I do think he’s taking Whittaker seriously tho, I’ve been watching his YT videos and he looks pretty motivated. I hope he finds that spark again, the Gastelum fight was one of the best fights I’ve ever seen. Maybe he should take on Khamzat? 👀

Adesanya has a ton of excuses for any perceived shortcomings within his own fights. Realistically Izzy has been champ for just over 2 years and defended 3 times. Izzy has a brilliant fight IQ but I do question his ability when his opponents don't play directly into his game plan. Izzy was getting out patienced and out counterstriked by Blachowicz, and with the Yoel fight I think the blame goes both ways. Izzy started kind of aggressive but he got drilled by an overhand early and completely shut down. Romero never really started, he was waiting on Adesanya to bring the action to him.

You got the right idea (something along these lines). If Usman and Adesanya can never fight, then they should try to get super fights against top contenders in each other's divisions. E.g. Adesanya vs Colby or Khamzat, and Usman vs Whittaker or Vettori. And yes I know those aren't realistic and they aren't true super fights. Could Israel get another LHW title shot after stacking a couple MW/LHW wins, and if he wins the belt, rematch Jan? Usman's biggest fight is against Khamzat (in his own division), otherwise a superfight against a LW that dares come up (such as Islam, should he win the LW belt), because I doubt he would fight at MW if it's not for the belt. I like Usman but IDK if I believe he wanted to fight for the LHW belt (or if that idea was ever practical from the UFC's perspective).

Now i think his ego cant let his L go against Jan (who lost his title to Glover) Notice the UFC isnt PRing Izzy the same, especially after losing to Jan...so maybe hes bored in the MW div. What contenders do you have left he hasnt fought? Till? UFC needs to replenish that division . so hes kinda stuck at MW unless he goes down to WW (which he has said he wont vs Usman) or tries going up through LHW id love to see him go through the top 5 of LHW ranks ....Jiri Prochazka would be a nice matchup or Thiago Santos,...before he faced the LHW champ (whomever it would be ) Great video as always

Lets not forget that adesanya and silva styles depend on counter strikes. This doesn’t mean that they’re bored. They wait for their opponents to throw something and then they catch their opponents with a counter strike. The problem with this kind of fighters especially nowadays that they don’t get to fight aggressive fighters all the time which lead to some boring fights.

The issue with that is the shift in cardio and speed, he did look slower against Jan even without much of a weight gain. His natural frame is as long as a heavyweight, but not thick enough. Moreover he looks average against every fighter with a comparable height even when they have shorter reach. His physicality is so right for middle weight.

Glover is a tougher matchup, the grappling threat is really dangerous. But yeah, if he hurts Glover it’s probably over, I’m pretty sure Izzy will stand him back to feet and finish him. But i feel someone like Ankalev can absolutely destroy Izzys game apart with the well rounded game. He can easily replicate what Jan did much easier. Reyes and Jan would also be competitive matchups that stacks well against Adesanya. His style is nearly unbeatable at Middleweight, Whittaker has the best chance now, even that is not much. He seems too good for middle weights unless Khamzat is this legendary cage wrestler who can live upto the current hype, or Whittaker fights a perfect fight without any slips and Izzy is bad on that day.

I think the boredom came before even going to the ground. It threw their whole team off how defensive he was being. He's fought for a long time. There's no competition that feels exciting. And I think there's some unhappiness with the UFC and how they have done things with him. Feelings of lack of promoting him or getting behind him on some things the way they wanted. That's been insinuated by him and his coach. It's pretty normal for guys around 32 to go through profound psychological changes. Your motivations for why you do stuff changes. You become much more aware of your own mortality. It gets hard to throw yourself into combat, to pull the trigger. Most people can't find something to replace that fire of youth. Most men will go through a few years of soul-searching, and only some can find themselves in their mid to late 30s a desire and reason to give it another go. Find a renewed purpose, that is enough to push yourself and even be successful, but it's not the same as having that fire of youth. This is why so many men still have it in the gym, but can't perform when it matters. We become more sentimental and aware of the mortality of ourselves and others. Driving your elbow into someone's busted up face with blood and sweat, it's easy when you are preoccupied with what you're chasing and don't think about the human being sentimentally. You don't think about the consequences. But now you see and begin to feel them all around you.
