NOOO, DON'T PAINT THIS! Just a heads up, Monster Clay is reusable and meant for mold making. Not for finishing and painting. There's polymer clay in the Jazza box as well, that's the stuff that Ace of Clay uses. It's ideal, because you can cure it in the oven (you can even bake halfway to save your progress during the sculpting). This is an entirely different material. Having said that (sorry, had to warn you!), I think it's unbelievably cool what you've managed to make without any sculpting experience! Just, wow! Very very talented. I'm subscribing. :)

  • @emmabradbury

Edit: see thread bellow as i got this information wrong DO NOT BAKE THIS CLAY. Keeping origional comment for continuity of the conversation. Origional Comment: The clay he used is the cos clay which can be baked and painted and is even flexable once baked. I would highly suggest watching jazzas video on it because it highlights the diference between regular monster clay and cos. But you are definitely correct about the polymer

@@ADCArtAttack that was an understandable concern, because like you said (nice ghost reference btw😆) many types of clay *ARE* extremely messy and goopy! But the polymer/plasticine modeling clays are much cleaner and a way better option for someone with a sensory sensitivity! Hey! Fellow fan of Jazza and Ace of Clay here, which is how I found your channel! Love what you do and this was absolutely awesome! You smashed this challenge as a complete beginner! Just wanted to give you a bit of heads up about the monster clay you used for this...it’s not your typical clay that air dries and can be painted. Ace of Clay did a video where he used this clay and reviewed the sculpture box section of Jazza’s box. He has some really helpful tips on how to use this stuff specifically and provides a link or two on where he learned about it. Can’t wait to see Kyuubi finished in all of his raw ferocity! I would never have guessed that you have no experience with sculpting, this came out so incredible! Also, when you get more clay to finish the fox tails, make sure that you get the same type that you used to start it. There are a million different types of clay out there and they each work a bit differently, so a different type may not work as well to complete this sculpture. For other projects you could get clay that hardens over time, or that hardens when baked, if that would be easier for you to work with. And I think we all want to see you use more of the supplies from all of these boxes, so you should absolutely create an environment for the fox!

You can’t bake that clay and can not paint it either anyway. I noticed that just when I was going to bake my sculpture. So I rebuild it with another clay. Edit: monster clay is what I understand mostly for practising (the clay is pretty forgiving and easy to shape and you can lay your sculpture on the table without the backside of the figure getting all flat) and for prototypes of all kinds and for making a figure you want to make a sillicone mold of and cast in for example resin epoxy.

Please, please, please, finish this!🙂 I wish I could come work with you or jazz, maybe one day. I've been doing art since I was in elementary school. I went to Art Instruction Schools of Learning when I was in high-school. Other than that I've never had the opportunity to really study the way I wanted. Or do the art I've wanted. I've messed around as much as I could,of course that is until my back surgery. I'm getting into new mediums now that my hands shake and I can't do portraits anymore, but I just wanted to say that I started watching you before Jazza, but I love both of you guys so much!!! You give me such an amazing burst of inspiration and drive to do things. Especially things I've never tried. I am traditionally a comic artist/animator and I look up to you and him so much. Thank you for always having amazingly awesome, light hearted, fun/funny, and insightful videos on all kinds of different styles and mediums. When it comes to drawing mediums and such and now that you and Jazza are collabing here, and there. It seems, he is getting you out of your comfort zone. I like to think this is to unlock your true final form of God artist "in my opinion" and I personally can not wait to see what the old noodle cooks up next for fun video ideas, and see where your endless talent and creativity take you.....Also as a side note on a completely different topic. My favorite style you do has got to be either the Tim Burton or of course anything you do DBZ makes me smile because that is all I drew in middle school and high school. Sorry for the long message. Just wanted to put in my two cents lol. Have a good one and thanks again @ADCArtAttack your one of my top 5 artist of all time no lie up there with BoB and Alex Ross and my best friend Clinton Pope which is an amazing portrait tattoo artist.

I hope you get to finish the sculpture and the rest that you wanted to do. Maybe a series of videos? I still can't believe you've never worked with clay before though. So cool!

You’re a super talented artist and this is really well done. But seriously, it’s so impressive that you overcame your textural issues working with this clay. Using the tools and working with what you could do. I’m no stranger to issues with texture and just, yeah! Good work!
