Moriah Elizabeth did a video a LONG time ago where she was testing a clay kit, and it had that same kind of clay that was sticking to your fingers. When you get a good batch, that clay is pretty amazing, apparently. But what can happen with it, if I remember correctly, is that if it's somewhere where it heats up, then cools, that's what gives it that bubbly look in the packaging and makes it so horribly sticky. So all in all, not a bad product, you just got a bad batch. But with how cheap Temu is and that there is a lot of questionable quality from the stuff they offer, people are probably better off buying that kind of clay elsewhere.

I wonder if you added corn starch onto your hands and then worked some in if it would become less sticky. I would spread some out on my work surface and knead it with the corn starch, kinda like kneading bread dough. It would be worth a try. I’ll probably never order this from Temu. I’d rather make my own paper clay. There are lots of tutorials for how to make it (or cold porcelain clay too).

Your comment highlights one of the biggest problem with sites like Temu. There’s no quality control so they can, and will, sell defective or expired or damaged products. If you were to get that same type of clay from a source that specializes in art supplies, chances are they would be making sure you don’t receive defective products, or at least replace them if you do. From my understanding it’s impossible to get a refund or replacement with sites like Temu.

I bought a similar airdry clay once and was very disappointed with its stickiness, but I left it open for some time (an hour or two I think) and it got more manageable. I use it with silicone molds. You just smear it into the mold, leave it for a day and you get yourself a very lightweight, puffy and simple shape. I made a bunch of tiny bats that I used for decorating a doll. It can also be useful if you don't want to waste your good clay for making a terrain for a diorama or something.

@@niclzo8865 I also had one of those exact ones from ebay and it shredded the threads within a couple of months of use. I also found the gripping on the tube way too shallow so I couldn't hold it properly, tube was much lighter and cheaper feeling and overall the experience after the first month was just stiff and painful :( I replaced it with a rose gold extruder from Etsy and I've been using that one for over a year now and it's still great! Heavier than the green one, I could instantly tell the threads were much deeper and thicker so they won't shred immediately like the cheap one did, and not to mention it's just cuter. It's entirely possible that the green ones are made by different manufacturers so you may not have the exact one he reviewed, and I may not have had the exact one you have, but I was definitely disappointed with my cheap green one. I don't remember exactly how much my Etsy one cost but it wasn't much more than the cheap ones and I'd definitely recommend it over the cheap ones anyday.

I personally don’t support Temu or SHEIN, but at the same time I understand why some people purchase from them. It’s only ever really a problem when someone is doing tons of hauls and then trashing it all afterwards. Along with the history of design theft and lack of quality. I think I will watch this video since it’s not promoting mass consumption of the products and I do really enjoy your content and you as a person. Just please be careful with giving your information to shops like this. -Best Wishes 🌻

Worked with that super light air dry clay for a few months now(2-3years but not really active everyday so I say months lol). also called (slime clay, bouncy clay and foam clay - because it dries to a foam squishy like thing). I prefer if it comes out sticky than hardened, because reactivating it is tedious. Just scoop it out all gooey and sticky and keep rubbing your hands together until it stops being sticky. the air and the heat from your hands help remove the moisture so it becomes this really soft clay that will stop sticking to your fingers and adheres to other claybits without the need for glue (unless it's hardening). I keep forgetting to take a video of how to condition sticky clay before use ahaha... . It definitely has a learning curve and you can't sculp as you would pottery clay or air dry cold porcelain. Most Asian clayists I follow use it for anime figures because they're so light they can handle all that detail with little wiring/armature. . kzread.info/dash/bejne/X56Bqpejm8vMldo.htmlsi=-HO6LU5qlYCBDq89

Although the data stealing shops like Shein and Temu do is the most concerning factor I feel like people don't focus on. Not trying to feed into the "china's watching us" conspiracy since a lot of these craft supplies are bought by big craft stores like Joans and Micheals.

I like using bottle brush tools for texture. I make sculpted jewelry for my business and I feel its a great replacement for using a tooth brush (which a lot of people use for the similar effect). The white and black brushes are a different level of coarse (usually) and you can use the stiffer side to create deeper texture and the the softer side to lighter texture.

It's fun to play with, dries really nicely without cracking, and bounces when it's dry. 😂 It's really easy on my weak, painful hands, too. Polymer clay is too difficult for me to handle. Obviously, you can't make anything near as detailed as with polymer clay, but you can make nice things. Okay- but the stainless steel pottery rib from the pottery set is one of my FAVORITE things. 😋I still have my original pottery set from college (from 1995)....😆 It's awesome for de-molding clay. It's flexible but provides enough surface to stick to when you flex the mold and pop out the clay without distortion. That desk looks awesome though. Fun video! That air dry clay looked so gross. lol YIKES! Just the slurpy gush of it and the visual was too much for me. lol You're right, the kit had a neat concept, but that clay.. yuck!

The extruder packaging is always crap, even when you buy the expensive one from the art store thanks for your review.if I needed supplies this would come in handy.for a starting sculpture this would be great information for an affordable beginner set.

We use air clay - my nieces and I - a lot - it is sticky at first - you take the whole batch out of the package and work it for a min or less and it starts to combine and work great. It does dry pretty quick so I think they try to go the more watery route to start with, to give you more time although all that "extra time" is trying to get it to a point where you can use it lol

I ordered the wax sculpting tools. Only 3 but they’re metal and I got a spoon tool as one of the tools. I’ve used the heck out of them. I bought a set with that crazy brush like you showed not on temu, paid more but hardly use so many of them. The blue tipped tools are nice put the tips pop out of the handles grrrr.

I ❤ reading these reviews. I am a multi media Fiber Artist. Which means I use all different types of products. What this boils down to is I use everything, fabrics, paper, beads, clay, buttons, paints, stamps and other weird things. I have ordered from TEMU since before they became so popular and have bought a lot of stuff from them. They are a bunch of vendors coming together to sell. They are based out of New York State 🇺🇸. Nearly everything we buy comes from Chinese parts. Cars, computers, appliances and even our meats are processed in China 😮😂. I buy my ink for my printer from Amazon, from a manufacturer in China! It’s cheaper, works great and I use my printer a lot so I want the best bang for my $. I have to smile when I see “stolen”, I have heard this many times. Do you steal or duplicate? I have hundreds of quilts I have made and entered in shows, has this design been used before? I am sure it has, but with some variation. That word is the absolute key to the world of whatever your art form is. My advice love what you do, buy from wherever you want and the reviews are always helpful even on Amazon!

That clay is always gummy like that. I bought Nickelodeon air dry clay from Michael's, and it was the same way. Just horrible stickiness all over. It has too much moisture in the mixture to keep it from drying out too soon. If you let it sit out for a bit, it becomes very manageable.

I got those rubber shaper-tools at 11:30, an im here to report that they’re useless. If you put enough pressure on them to indent the polymer clay then the rubber head just pops right off. I’ve moved them into my oil painting studio, aka my real job, and they will live out the rest of their lives as tools with the rubber heads duct taped back on as texture tools for painting things like metal armor and/or forest foliage and things like that.

Maybe there are those who lose things so you have repeat shaper tools? I mean I had a nice scissors, misplaced it, got another and found the old one so got two pairs of scissors.p so it doesn’t matter which I grab they both work the same though the bigger one is slightly sharper. Although I don’t do what you do when I get my supplies I buy a lot of bottles of glue. So when one clogs I can use another.
