He literally did a favor. It's easy to look down on him from our comfort. I just got fast food. I order my groceries pick up. I grew up without a lot of money and it wasn't a big deal even coming from that situation for me to go to school and become a systems engineer. Not needing to try and tour guide random tourists to make good money. I live in a place with law and order.i have a closet full of clothes. Heat. Ac. I live so comfortably i choose to take care of a pet. I buy the pet high quality food. It would be so easy living like that. In a place where living how i am isn't even middle class. And call him a scammer.

He's been lucky so far. I live here & a good rule of thumb is never follow someone like that, especially into environs that are unknown. He put Tom in a somewhat hostile environment & then plays the "protector". It's a racket & he's fortunate that it didn't go sideways.

as I mentioned The body guard tour guide deserved his pay. in fact when he siad 1000KS I would had duoubled it! and would thanked him soe his services! You isted protested and gave him the 500Ks Extra asked. No hard feelings you showed no apesciation for the pesson who took you inside, kept you safe and brought you back uncrached! @@deenzmartin6695 maybe, the "scam" would only work on foreigners though, and in the end what did all this cost Tom, maybe $20 USD? Especially in Tom's case (or any vlogger) he earned exponentially more with this ~750,000 view video than whatever the guy scammed out of him. Plus whether he's a scammer or not it's useful to have a local with you telling some of the more annoying beggars to get lost (like the people from the bar who followed) and it can help avoid actual muggings/assaults as well. Someone like Tom who's not a big, strong looking guy, who presumably has no combat training, he benefits a lot from having a guy like Masdin around, even if Masdin is attempting low-level scams and expecting payment at the end.
