Pro Tips for the ancient city: - wool blocks and carpets are your friends - 2 skulk sensors with a trapdoor inbetween, will distract the warden forever - skulk is best mined with a hoe, for every skulk block you get 1XP, so get into digging it out!

only the naturally spawned shriekers spawn wardens so remember to keep one untouched to build the warden farm. Also, since shiekers have a global cooldown for spawning wardens, if you have a warden farm running(with a chunk loader), that would work as a warden switch. Meaning you could explore all other ancient cities without spawning any wardens in your location.

I dug up an entire stronghold right down to bedrock. When I was done it was one of the most satisfying things I had never done in Minecraft. I'm not much of a builder. So clearing out every Rock and every dirt every sand and every gravel around that stronghold and squaring out the hole was really satisfying. And the best part it was a complete stronghold with no cut off or broken hallways into caves. If you have the time. And it will take a long time to do. I suggest you try it. It was a long journey but the destination was well worth it. It was more satisfying than emptying out an ocean Monument.

Just saw this video in my recommended. Amazing dedication to this project. I personally find Ancient cities to be one of my favorite structures currently. It's amazing to see them so exposed.

Note: you can't spawn a warden if the shrieker was placed by a player, only naturally generated ones are capable of spawning the warden. Fun fact: The souls on a shrieker placed by a player are darker than the souls on a naturally generated shrieker (to show the ones placed by you can't summon a warden because the souls are weaker or something like that)

@@fj094t58qjf those shriekers are the weaker version as well. Only naturally generated ones will summon the warden, which means that if you break all the shriekers in a deep dark, the warden can never spawn there again

You should try to capture a warden in the ancient city and turn it into a museum type thing.

I feel like a dwarven city would be cool, it’s got the aesthetic and “mechanical” parts. You could incorporate gold into the build. As well as having access to the caves as mines. Could be a cool addition, and even gives you chance to use blocks in a build you probably never would. You could have just unearthed a ancient city built by dwarfs thousands of years ago. Now there guardians have run amuck and caused ruin to it. Anyway whatever you decide good luck!

I'm sure you probably know, or at least there's probably other comments about it, but just in case... Don't mine all the shriekers, the warden won't spawn with player placed shriekers, so if you want to make a farm later, leave some in place. Also, use the diamond hoe in the chest to mine the shulk, it'll go much faster (well, I guess tnt is the fastest, but also more destructive). Fun video, wish I had the patience for this kind of project 😊

Recently got back into this game and I never in my life did I expect to see a world get carpet bombed

rebuilding an ancient city to its former glory sounds amazing

the sheer amount of dedication and patience- my easily distracted self could never! ^^ also- day 25 of asking to be a fox in the kingdom! I'd love to hang out on the chest island and keep all your goodies safe until the very end ^^ also also- idea for a bee farm if u ever need one- what if u made a giant oak tree and put the farm in the base?

This is extremely impressive I can't even imagine how long this took

You gotta finish levelling it out, of course. Just flatten everything around all of the buildings. lol You could also make a mob farmer and spread shulk over the whole city. Maybe even partially up the walls that you dug out? Could look cool.

Fun fact mobs don't spawn in deep dark (other than warden ) and he mined out. Most of the natural shriekers so the perimeter can't spawn any mobs underground .

@@nhariom2000 Huh... Well, kind of a moot point now, cause this world is officially dead, but... I didn't know that they had restricted mobs in the deep... but... Couldn't you theoretically create a mob farm just kind of floating way above the now-exposed Ancient City, and just have the mobs spawn up there and then fall to their deaths, spreading the shulk? lol

@@bronsoncarder2491 lol u could do it but it won't be worth it then creating a perimeter was done mainly because more mobs spawn when u have a lower y value. And sculk spreading can be done anywhere as long as u place one sculk catalyst after all

@@tearynbrown The Deep Dark prefers to spawn underneath as many blocks as possible. So basically, yeah, mountains.

You can actually easily kill a warden with some potions and good enchantements but without good protections potions you can also easily die from it

Hey Paul, just a tip: A warden won't be summoned if the shrieker isn't naturally generated so you might want to keep some of the preexisting skulk shriekers. If you want to build a warden farm, that is.

Also If you make a Warden, you need to have it at the City because only naturally spawning shriekers will spawn one. I would LOVE to have an Allay named after me!
