That fact that this team even made the playoffs with having to use all three of their QB’s throwing a combined thirteen touchdowns speaks volumes of the great job coach Tomlin and the rest of the coaching staff, (other than OC, Matt Canada) did.

I would say about half of it was pure luck, as much as it was great coaching. I didnt see any great coaching decision that made the Ravens drop about 8 passes 3 of which were in the endzone or coaching decisions that allowed them to play the most games against back up QBs in the NFL. It is going to take much better coaching this season because I doubt they will be so lucky once again. Tomlin is a good coach but also got extremely lucky last season.

I’ve been a Steelers fan since I opened my eyes in the early 70’s! Personally, I liked what Colbert did over his 20 years as GM. But Omar Khan has shifted a couple gears and has hit free agency very well his first two seasons. If you want to be GREAT, you can’t keep doing the same things you’ve been doing for the last 10 years! Khan’s first draft had contributors with first FOUR picks (Jones, Porter JR, Benton and Herbig; I’m excited what Trice will bring once healthy). With that said, this draft should be just as impactful as last seasons! 11 new free agents thus far and I don’t think they are done! The Steelers need to get back to the Standard is the Standard! Just a winning record doesn’t mean shit! Just making the playoffs and getting booted in the wildcard doesn’t do shit! Khan has revamped this roster to be a serious contender I think. It will be exciting to watch this year!

I’m old enough to have witnessed the historical 1974 draft and everything the team has accomplished since. Seeing how current GM, Omar Khan and his assistant GM, Andy Weidl have handled taking care of business so far is very impressive and exciting. We Steelers fans went to bed one day thinking that Mason Rudolph and Kenny Pickett were going to compete fro the starting QB role. We then woke up to discover that Omar traded Kenny Pickett to the Eagles. To say that we were all rocked and shocked to see that this transaction happened is a colossal understatement. What we learned was Omar is the antithesis of Kevin Colbert. Kevin was a very good GM for the team during his tenure. However, when it came to the draft, Kevin was content to stay put and let the draft come to him. Omar proved during his rookie season last year that he is a different cat. Although he adheres to the Steelers’ way of drafting talent he isn’t afraid to make moves to get the players the team needs. Omar also acquires free agent talent by being as financially frugal as possible.

I’m excited to see the offense under Arthur Smith! Also, I’m confused by everyone acting like the O-Line is such a drastic need for us, I understand we need players who have some years on contract still but realistically if we get middle of the pack Center play (like Herbig being 18th of 32 starting Centers) and practically same level of play from the other 4 positions as we did from the 2nd half of last season then we’d have a pretty damn good O-Line! Although, as mentioned I know we need depth and a lot of our starting OL are at end of contract or 1 year left. I’d love to extend Daniels & Dan Moore. I think Dan Moore could be bought on a pretty cheap deal for a starting LT. I know if he became a backup T he’d be the best T#3 in the NFL and that’s not even considering if he got replaced as a T I’d love to see him play RG and JD play C. I think Daniels would be our best option at C but I understand the desire to not mess with the continuity of the OL! Also, with the draft I’d love to see DeJean as our 1st pick (unless somehow his medical made him slide and we somehow got him with 2nd pick). It’d be great to see 1.DeJean 2.Nourzad 3a. M.Smith DT 3b. McCafferey 4.Johnny Dixon 6a. Gonclaves 6b. Curtis Jacobs UDFA Andru Phillips

I have absolutely no idea what Tomlin does that gets the best out of his players, but the Steelers seem to make terrible hires all the time at all other coaching positions. Wilson is going to come in with a chip on his shoulder after getting clowned on for his performance in a mediocre Denver system the last 2 years, and Fields is going to feel like he has something to prove after being in the QB hell that is Chicago. I think both of them will see use this season, letting Fields as the more mobile receiver take some of the snaps on option plays since he has the legs to get the job done while Wilson is more of an old school pocket type of QB. There's also rumors floating about a potential move to bring DK Metcalf to Pittsburgh, and reuniting him with Russ would be fire along with giving the Steelers a true WR1.

Arthur Smith loving to run the football doesn't mean they will be successful doing it, if you dont have a legit number 2 WR I dont care how much he loves running, defenses will double pickens and stack the Box and I hope he loves getting 1 or 2 yards a run. They have to score points, running the ball just because you love it doesn't mean you will be successful with it and score points. Arthur Smith has to put together a legit passing game not just running the ball because he loves it, if it were that simple no one would throw. If you cant throw the ball in todays NFL than you are screwed simple as that. The top scoring offenses are basically the top teams in the NFL every year, if you are one dimensional and cant throw you will lose, plain and simple. Arthur Smith needs to put together an offense that scores more points not one that just loves to run the football. The WR group is anything but solid at moment, they have 1 starting WR and about 4 guys that are weak number 3's at best, they have to add two WRs in the draft one has to be a legit #2 Wr right away or the season is over before it starts, no matter how much they love to run the ball. People think just adding olineman equals being able to run the ball better, it does not, adding a good #2 WR is even more imperative to be able to run successfully, because it will keep defenses honest, without it they will not have a successful offense or score more points.

Lmao no Fields is not the starter. It's easily Russ and Tomlin said he's the starter and that Fields would have to do some crazy stuff to overtake. I think their whole plan what it should be is have Fields learn under Russ for at least 1 season but they did say they want him for longer. Russ is definitely the starter and the much better QB and I would bring Fields in here and there to run RPOs here and there. The defense somehow got better. This is a 12 wins team but could fight for the 1 seed if the stars stay healthy for once

The Steelers made the playoffs last year despite the poor coaching of little mikey t. Steelers could have Jerry Rice, Michael Irvin, Calvin Johnson, Randy Moss, Barry Sanders, Emmitt Smith, Jerome Bettis, Marshall Faulk, Joe Montana, Tom Brady or whatever Allstar Qb & Allstar O line & D line & D backs you can think of. As long as mike tomlin is making coaching decisions, the Steelers will NEVER win another Superbowl It’s as simple as that. And it’s a shame that All that talent has been wasted for nearly two decades simply to pacify the rooney rule.

Did the improve their #30 ranked offensive line. You liked the Fields acquisition? Are you ready to pay his $38 million 5th year with his passing rankings ? Do you realize how bad his rankings are with the #6 O-line in the leadue last year.. take a look 29th Comp. % 17th TD/Att 23rd INT/Att 31st Sack % 20th YPA 22nd Passer rating 23rd QBR 23rd EPA/Att -0.05 EPA/Dropback I would have told Pickett to sit down Mr QB3 He was God's gift to the Steelers fans when they drafted him.. Most hyped nothingness.

Realistically the line got a lot better throughout the season once they began starting different guys. Plus they have more offseason to get a better o-line. Even then both RBs hit 1k yards so was the line really that bad?
