Ark in general has been moving away from a dinosaur survival game to a "let see what we can introduce and charge for" money grab. My Ark tribemates and I laughed at the Firemane...Pyrocat...whatever that thing is. Pretty much the end of ASA for me. I'll go back to ASE and revisit some old friends.

I agree and feel the pyromane being a paid tame is a bridge too far. If it was a paid mod you'd have to install I would be fien with it but putting it in the base game with an "insert 5 dollars to tame or claim this creature" without me having a way to get it out of the game so it isn't constantly tempting me just feels disrespectful to me. With the Oasisaur, it came in bundle with a bunch of awesome things. Like building skins, oil lamps, trains, armor skins, barrels, treasure maps, potted plants etc.... You got so much it was like the oasisaur was an afterthought. It felt included free with buying all that other great stuff.

As member of the PvP community I totaly understand that video! We currently talk alot about that stuff in our tribe and we do not know how to handle this.

@@frodo9063 ive been on arkpoc center for the last week, so many times im just like "can someone with a pyro do this" or "can someone with a pyro come support me/come kill this guy" also they make running puzzle cave and lava 10x easier i wont list all the broken things u can do with them but theres so many, my favourite, you can move when overweight by getting them out over and over hahahahaha so so fucking awful decision from snail/wildcard/whoever tf is in control overthere

i went back to ASE instead, to play the game i feel in love with. ASA has not lived up to expectation. So i rather play the older version and have fun then playing that new BS with a bunch of p2w crap

You mentioned there are other games like ark now, what games are these and is there anything on consoles?

Honestly this video is really well done and highlights a lot of issues that I was feeling myself. It's why I went back to ASE.

You and I have had many conversations about Ark and through it all you were always hopeful and optimistic. To hear you broken about it says a lot about the state of ASA. I hope those in charge at Wildcard see their errors and course correct. But I seriously have my doubts they will at this point. But like you said, Lots of other good to great survival games!

I've never really liked ASA to begin with, it's not something that we desperately needed. I have 7k hours in ASE and about 25 hours in ASA, a remaster is not really what I was looking for... and now with what seems like every new update I bother to look into about it, it's only worse and worse every time, and I am increasginly glad that I didn't invest that much into the ASA.

I am PVE official, I never felt like the Shadowmane felt like ark back in gen 2, and the Pyromane feels the same way. I am right with you that ark is not feeling like ark anymore. My group has talked about going to a private server and turning off some of the additions. as we know when AB comes my favorite map we are getting a blimp we are losing steam..

I sympathize whole heartily. When my friend group started on ASE we just ran into so the many issues with officials. We made the jump to unofficial clusters but even that has its own problems as well, eventually we made up our own private ASA cluster. its not perfect either but we have slightly more say how we play and enjoy this game. I know its not everyone's cup of tea or feasible due to the extra cost and effort. Thought without those options would never stuck around with ARK for as long as we have. I also feel how hard it can hit after so long, ARK feels like home for many of us and to lose that feeling is a tough one.

If i were being honest with the custom game mod thing they did with the Mickey skin of Ark & Power Rangers i feel the same about the cosmetics tho further It feels like they are basically trying to make ASA Fortnite or something like Roblox, 'Make the game the way you want it' Except your ruining ARK by doing that 🤷‍♀️

I don't think this would've been an issue if we had to buy the dlc maps again. I think these were planned to be just added with the maps, same with Bobs pack buuuut, since we pushed back against that idea, this was the next revenue idea. I will say though, I'm glad we didn't have to buy the dlc maps again

Same for me. I love PVE and at this point Ark has departed from it's original heart. I have not bought any of the ASA premium content as I see no value there for me. I have moved on to my other favourites, 7 Days to Die v1.0, Fallout 76, Sons of the Forest and Myth of Empires.

There is hardcore survival on hard difficulty with food, water, disease, etc. It has extensive gathering, farming, building, traps, cooking, quirky vehicles, gliders, limited swimming, a lot of cave spelunking, very cool unique POIs, and standard weapons but they are fun. But it does have a linear story that you can complete but after that you have the option to go to credits or continue your survival progress in a free roaming open ended way. It looks stunning and it is a nice departure from Ark and some of the other typical survival games. The original The Forest is also excellent but an older game but very much in the same style and worth playing as well.

@@mrautismo420 I stayed away since launch but dipped in February this year and I have been playing on and off casually, and still having fun. There is so much to do and a ton of locations and a variety of activities. I still haven't completed the main story but it has been enjoyable so far. I only have 200 hours in the game so still early days.

When I got the pyromane I taught the fantastic creatures was multimap package. but apparently it is not. Since its pretty powerful, this is getting bad on the "pay to win" side.

i got fed up with ASA in feburary, i am playing ASE still on a private cluster, it definitely lost alot of with the official shutdown.. but i still enjoy ASE on private more than ASA in any form

HEAR! HEAR!!! This is basically a variation of conversations I have had. ARK... If you are not going to expand your team, expand the time spent on fixing issues with ARK and slow the rollout of new features and focus on getting the maps done, including the additional maps. Include some TLC content and look at dino balances as you go. AND MOST OF ALL... any NON CANNON content, including Fantastic Tames and Bob's Tall Tales gets moved to USE the official maps, but does not appear on them by default, and how they are handled are in the hands of the Admins, so they can join but have to buy it, or they are given a notice when joining that the server contains unpurchased content, what it is, and the player can decide if they want to join. And beat the Pyromane with a nerf hammer.

I loved ASE. I bought every map and definitely got my monies worth. I played on the Xbox official and unofficial servers since early development. I tried ASA but I just couldn't get into it. Ascended is nice looking but it's missing the old magic for me. I check back in on ASA every six months. It feels like the game is more broken every time that I check.

My tribe of 6 or so, all level 140+ quit a month into scorched. We still have our island base but im considering letting it decay after Center launch

Man, Ark is the only game I play anymore , but im for the first time really starting to get tired of it, even though I play single player solo now, that's down to the scummy deal with Nitrado, I can't justify paying half the price of the game every month for a server woth 19 slots I don't need. I need another game , any suggestions?

That's every game that has servers even g portal wouod charge you monthly mmo games subscription monthly battle pass season pass games your paying again an again advice don't play them... or use there free official servers or single player or free to play game that it gonna require microtransactions to stay with everyone else this isn't new first subscription service game came out in 1990's I believe it was 1986 to be exact but regardless this started 30+ years ago only got worse an used more an more but it's not new nitrado does exact same thing as host havoc, g portal, youhostpro, literally every server hosting company charges you monthly bill that is basically a new game so just don't buy it lol like asking for advice on not eating junk food idk maybe don't buy the junk food that's pretty good place to start work on self control an don't eat it just say no lol

@@TakenCypress369 Whoa 😅. I have about 5k hours on ASE all on my own private 10 slot server, that Gportal 10 slot server cost €11 per month, whereas Nitrado only have a €20 , 20 slot server available. Wow you really missed my point there

Totally with you, well technically youre with me now as ive had this feeling since asa launched. Poor series S performance, a butchered build system and now pay to win dlc. Wouldnt care if it was trinkets and skins. But op dinos being behind a pay wall isnt fair. I and many others will be un able to buy.

I modded in the old DevKit, downloaded the new one, did a art generator or two, like a snow generator with UE5s DynamicMesh/ Geometry Script Further down the road a friend of mine gifted me a code for the game, played, I haven't even surpassed 15h of gameplay, and I have no interest in doing so and little to no interest in modding No hate just my honest feelings

I think I've been with Ark since 2015 and I've loved the game, bred my terror birds and toads. Was a little sad when they wiped the Evolved servers. I'm just disappointed how long they're taking to reintroduce content in ascended and feels like they're just milking it for as much as they can while delaying Ark 2 even further. So for now, I just play it casually in single player evolved on my Switch as I wait for things during work.

I'm still playing but the Center has really shown how many people are not as engaged with the game as before. Many 'hardcore' pve players have chosen not to even start on the Center. It's worrying, I still love the game and also love my pyro but I am deeply concerned the game is becoming something I'm not interested in (p2w, RMT, unfairness). I want everyone to be on a level playing field. I do wish some sort of crowdfunding could be set up to open a new 'official' ASE PVE network, I'd pay a monthly subscription to play the game I love and to play along with large numbers like only the official network or a collective co-op endeavour could create.

I am new to the ark world compared to most, and what you said has a lot of valed points. I dont have a lot of experience with the old pvp and pve worlds, but all in all, I love ASA. On that same hand, I can see the money grab game WC and SG are playing, and it is starting to bother me that they can't fix a lot of the "OLD" bugs I read and hear about. I hope the higher-ups see ur video.

Ofc they make it op and give it 20 abilities so everyone feels like they haaave to buy it. Would be better if it was a 1 time payment and you get pyromane and all future fantastic tames dlc creatures. I play small tribes pvp and i still havent bought it just out of principle. Got some from a raid and i cant even un cryo them. Ill stick with my microraptors.

My problem with the pay content is the game feels inferior to ASE, dino render distance is a joke on official, the center is EMPTY the spawn is horrible, in old center lava island was full of carnos, raptors, 2 or 3 gigas outs, lots lots of rexes, was an amazing place to tame, now is empty at least in official, plus bugs, the creatures turning lv 1 bug is been around forever, the bug you can't access some of your crafting stations or boxes and have to place them again, the god damn eggs walking when you drop them, your bag poofing if you die in the ocean, when there is many people online, the render thing turns all invisible, you are literally flying on empty wasteland. Now with new maps they release less servers, and now we got crossplay, every new map is a click join simulator for 5 hours, just to crash or dc and click join again. But here is more DLC, buy buy buy.

My heart is broken as well. Having a hard time getting motivated to play as much ASA any more. Though to be fair, maybe it's for the better for me. Another KZreadr I like watching started doing videos again on ASE and lots of folks feel the same as you. I don't get it, this game could be so much better both as a game to play and as a way for WC to make money. They are not thinking clearly it seems, they've lost their way for sure.

Alpha an beta of ark and pc had the gane long before xbox an Playstation had it even later not hard to Google the information this really the hill you wanna die on omg they said 10 years when it's 9 years 7 months omg they rounded up 5 months call the media ⚠️ alert ⚠️ if you've played since day one beta your few months from 10 year mark if you've played that long chances are you'll still be playing in 5 months so I mean really? Abb, ext, gen 1 and 2 are pay to play. So I don't really see the difference.

I really wish they would slow down on the release of maps and change the way they release paid creatures. Release more paid skins! I would happily pay for more structure and player cosmetics. I'd also be more likely to buy the paid creatures if they weren't hard coded to spawn already. Have them released as a mod so I can CHOOSE to see them in my world or not. I hate The Center redesign, it feels unfinished and not true to the source material, and I'm really disappointed in the direction paid content is going.

Hello thanks for the video about ASA. I watched another video today that shows Snail games stock value at 1 cent and on the road to being delisted due to not being value of at least 1 dollar. The ASA future is going to unknown territory, maybe selling the game to a better company.

This has happened before stock drops below dollar they get notice to improve an 90 days to do it its not good but it's also not new news as far as ark goes 3 months is long time an 10 years wildcard have not changed but ppl still buy anything they make so until ppl stop funneling them money it'll gets worse an nothing will change every paid mod makes them money every dlc makes them money

Gonna be a controversial opinion, but keep in mind i play pure pve on private server with friends on xbox. We love ASA, first time having access to all the mods has breathed much life into the game for us and we also have been enjoying the fantastic tames and bobs tall tales packs as we think they're cool content and much prefer them over having to rebuy the maps we already bought in ase. I can see though especially for pvp how the fantastic tames would be a pain.

I see no problems with skins, they can be turned off.

I played ase starting early access beta on ps4 for years and haven’t played for a year or so just getting into asa to play with freinds. I got back into it and like the game and what they have done. So many people mad about asa it’s a good game a lot of good changes but a lot of whiney players.

I love the pyromane but I HATE the way people are forced to open their wallet for 1 single and even overpowered creature.😢 my tribe mate got it and without owning the creature itself I can't even look in the inventory😢 so I was forced to buy it with a massive nasty taste in my mouth😭 they are going about things the wrong way. i fell out of love with this version of ark, the drama and direction just put me off, i can still play evolved and be happy, but i am over ASA, might come back when all the maps are done, by then i hope we back to what worked, but not hopeful

i have TOTAL PLAYED 2,993.2 hours on ark survival evolved and since ascended launched i never wanted to buy just coz i knew it would be pay 2 win and i hate it pay 2 win ruins every game and i will not support creators any more sadly since ark is my favorite game and i have soo many good memories of it

My biggest issue with the Pyromane as a PvE player isn't that it is op or breaks things or that you are forced to buy it to be competitive... its how very, very lazy it is. Its just a reskin. Hard to get more lazy than that... ... for $5. ugh

It’s not op. It literally serves to be a pocket Dino to combat the bullshit cryo changes. But it’s also not just a reskin. It might be pretty similar, but it’s literally got a completely different set of abilities.

To me, buying ASA after getting everything for ASE only a year before felt like a slap in the face, and I've just been sticking with ASE single player this whole time. Yeah it's lonely, but it's better than getting ripped off by the dev repeatedly. Like you, I grew up poor, and after some time in industry, am back to being poor, so there's just no way I could justify spending money on a game like this. There are plenty of other games that I can spend my time with, without game breaking bugs, and after dealing with all the still remaining bugs that ASE is still left with, and seeing the new bugs in ASA, you just know that these devs aren't going to fix them, and are solely going to keep doing money grabbing stunts. They've made too many bad decisions over the years, and now they're sunk. It's only a matter of time before everyone finally realizes this. Either Snail sells off Wildcard to someone who cares, or keep watching it getting worse.

Ark is in trouble with Wall Street. Their stock is at .0001 per share and they have a few months to at least get it to the minimum of $0.01. They may have to sell.

I have 4 issues with ASA. 1: the utterly astonishing lack of QA and bug fixes. I mean this alone renders the game an absolute embarassment when compared to most other titles. 2: the Pyromane is a lazy OP shadowmane ripoff. I don't even mind paid DLC but it needs to be worth it and the Pyromane isn't even creatively inspired. 3: the lack of official server moderation. 4: the Center "remaster" is literally a downgrade, lol All of these issues could have been addressed in ASA and not one of them was (in fact the Pyromane was just released and still hasnt been nerfed and the Center was delayed and still released in an embarassing state.) It often feels like WC just doesn't take itself nor its customers seriously.

I always used to be pretty active on the Ark Forums, posting a few good ideas about the gameplay in general. I am hardly looking there anymore... But I think the survival aspect is too weak now. We all know the maps, we all know the drill, so adding new weird creatures is practically only giving the PvE breeding community a new creature to breed. PvP wise it is practically P2W because the next PvP "dimension" comes from a payed dlc... There are modded servers for better immersion and whatever, but the modders arent having an easy time neither and the modded servers players base is very dispersed... Alltogether, its all supposed to be just a remaster, why add all this stuff? It should be about finetuning the game, not adding new items and creatures every time they find a new option or button in the new Engine... They forget about finetuning alltogether, its buggy, badly optimized, etc etc... If adding anything, they should try to add more passive gameplay mechanics changes...

The horse from wow made me hate ark... didnt buy asa bexause i was sure snail will make it happen...❤ i love ark and its most played game in my library after mgs3 by 2000h... i got 1000 in mgs3, lets not tolk about it, to the point snail the company is the blame...

i am trying to enjoy my last moments on ark now, soon i will not be able to enjoy it at all i think. even right now i refuse to buy pyro and its misserable, cant cryo or access inv of my own tribes pyros, and theyre so so op in so many ways. snail are in complete control and if you look at what theyre saying they clearly only care about ark 2 now, which is crazy because idk whose gonna play ark 2. ark was never a *franchise*, its one game that got it just right 10 years ago. snail will not listen no matter how many community influencers speak out. its very sad, sorry.

The pyro is just a pocket Dino to make up for the terrible cryo changes. PvP- cries about throwing gigas out, and cries about not being able to pick people up because all they have to do is morph the pyro and boom, get away. Pve doesn’t care. It helps from having to throw out a Dino from base and walk it LITERALLY across the map just to do a cave run. It’s not OP, and see literally no issues with it. How else do you think they are going to make money to finish the maps? They haven’t even paid off their loans to begin with, and the player numbers are dropping DAILY. Go cry elsewhere people.

what do u expect? they dont make any money for the maps bcs the players where mad about that, i can understand it.. so they sold us for 1 time all maps. so how do we make money to get the ppl payed who work for ark.... skins? ok but who pays for many or all skins? i never bought a single skin bcs its trash for me... i dont care about power rangers and all that stuff and i m sure many ppl think like that, so...what to try next?... i enjoy bob tails... i also enjoy the pyromane. the ark club is nice to bring ppl together IF they use it. I agree this direction is not the best but it was taken because of the uproar to not pay for the new maps. They have to make money which is their bottom line. I think it'd be better to have a cosmetic pay place similar to fornite and other games. I'd love to buy custom skins vs a dino that some tribemates bought and others didn't. Honestly I wouldn't have minded paying for maps either.

The community has been screaming at WC to add more paid cosmetics for years to finance the embarrassingly horrible lack of QA surrounding this franchise. And over the last decade how has WC responded? Twice. Bob's Tall Tales and Power Rangers. They need to do MUCH more of that and ZERO more of uninspired Pyromane slot machine p2w garbage.

Don't play ASA and ASE, these games are full of bugs, cheaters, p2w content and without balance. Wild Card don't know how to make ARK good for us.

I mean, a live game needs to make money. Some games are charging 20$ for a recolor, so Ark actually has pretty reasonable pricing. Rainbow 6: Siege turned to fairly predatory monetization and went from an old dying game to #3 on Steam. Apparently it's what the people want..

To me its just a game so i will just stop playing, I think youtubers worry more an get more emotional due to its how they earn a living. But no game will be around forever.

I've played Ark casually on privately rented servers with my friends. I don't know anything about "the community", and I quite frankly don't care. I subscribed to this channel because of the breeding videos, and I've kept being a subscriber because you are level headed and constructive when discussing.. Anything. Ark, at the end of the day, is not my "home" That being said, from what I've heard, this situation reminds me of Runescape in 2012, and the downfall of Heroes of Newerth, both games I played religiously for a while. Both games ended up dying, with Runescape releasing Old School Runescape due to how garbage the modern version of the game ended up being. If Ark ever goes that far, don't stay loyal to it. Discard it. Sad to see this type of story repeat itself
