How would you modify this calibrated question if a person worked in government and had strict boundaries on what their job function was?

I think this really depends on the level of job you are interviewing for. In many instances, I suspect the first thought to the hiring manager's mind would be, "I wish someone would tell me how to be involved in those projects myself." Of course, in such cases you might be qualified for a job at a higher level than such a hiring manager might have for you, so asking that question in such a case would be harmless because if it's really not the right job for you, it's just as well they don't hire you.

Would a great question as a Sr Recruiter for a Software Company be “How can I get more involved in the most critical executive hires that will have the most impact on our companies and teams success?”

This question should only be asked when negotiating a raise while already working for someone. Can we ask this question at the beginning of talks with a potential company that offers you cooperation? For example: We want to talk to you about the XYZ position/ XYZ project.... Following this logic: "How can I be guaranteed to be involved in projects critical to the strategic future of this company?"

@@user-cf5qn8eh4bthis isn't a question you ask after beinf asked a random question... This is a question you ask when they ask you if you have any questions for them. If you're applying for a position below the executive team, change "company" to "department" or "location." This is a foundational question that must be further calibrated to your unique situation.

@@user-cf5qn8eh4b that's a question you respond to, instead of asking another question. I would say "I would love the opportunity to show you how I can help this project be successful." Yeah, it sounds cheesy, but it's what they want to hear.
