I Crashed My Drone!

I heard someone say once, it’s not a matter of IF you crash your drone but WHEN. And when I heard that, I thought “that won’t happen to me!” Well, pride cometh before a fall...
Found out how I crashed it and what I learned along the way.

The Farm I go to is surrounded by two Class D airports, I know your pain with airspace avoidance. Looking at control tower hours helps when they change to class E. Love the videos!

That would be so frustrating! Thanks for the kind words. 😊

Wow. great story glad it had a happy ending. When I started flying I spent a lot of time watching drone crashing videos .. because research.. And what i noticed a lot was people getting in trouble with the "auto" modes. Probably why I stay away from them. That said the other thing i noticed was lots of people get in trouble when they fly sideways and backwards for obvious reasons "you can see where your going". So far i have had one incident where i nearly flew into a tree, fortunately i was flying forward and i couldn't see the tree because of bright sun on the screen. I looked up just in time and stopped although the auto avoidance also helped. One other note, auto collision avoidance doesn't work at top speeds... The Drone doesn't have enough time to stop before hitting the "tree". Anyway - Love your shots - still want to fly with you some time when things are a little less crazy in the world.

I wanted to stop and say that I absolutely love your photography videos. I just got my first DSLR camera, a Nikon D3400, and am learning as much as I possibly can. If possible I had a video suggestion of how to film and photograph horse shows that are in an arena with poor lighting, as well as a basic video on creating a nice smooth look for filming. Keep up the videos!

Thank you so much! I don't actually do indoor horse shows, so I"m probably not the best person to teach about the best way to deal with shooting one.
