@@asullivan6095 I'm actually working on an eBook right now that is for people just like you starting out with photographing horses. It should be out this spring and I'll make sure to do a video about the ebook so you don't miss it!

Hi Shelley! So glad to hear your dad is doing well. Thank you so much for sharing all your behind the lens video and commentary. I am scheduled for a shoot in about 10 days for something similar to this, but times 40. 40 wagons in the desert of Utah. I am super excited and glad I will have multiple days to be shooting to get dialed in a bit and find angles I like. Thank you so much for sharing your views and settings. I really appreciate all your insight. Beautiful work as always :-).

Most of the time, when I work with commercial clients, the images are only for them and not available to license by others. :)

I love your videos! A cool video idea would be scouting locations at peoples farms (working with what you have) or if you ever have people trailer their horses to a location.

Thank you so much. It was definitely a wake up call about the fragility of life. I hope you are able to find healing for your pericarditus and can get back out to being with horses. Much love from Minnesota. ❤️

Shelley Paulson aw thank you so much.Yes i still have my old girl a Icelandic horse 34 now (i wrote a reply earlier to a fotoshoot you did). And i owned a Welsh Cob section D , but sold herto my nie ce.Due to my heart my Dad is taling care of the old girl now but when im better id love to have a couple of horse again. The Percheron and a Welsh Cob section D and for the kids a Icelandic horse. So im hoping to find a good piece of land to build my stables on, near to the woods and near to the beach..ow my that would be so beautiful. My Icelandic is now on a farm with allot of other horses in the summer the number runs up to 40+ on the meadows overthere. So id like to have my own piece of heaven on earth.Percheron to help me with the land and the others allso to ride..id love to ride the Percheron aswell. But first things first my health..it surely make you reflect on life and only doing what makes you happy.Im so glad your Dad enjoyed his hike and was able to.Strong man hope he stays with you and your mother for many years to come.Lost my mother she was 54 due to lungcancer so it makes you appreciate your parents so much more. And my father just hade his birthday , he learned horseriding in his 50ties.So allso he still only does what makes him happy and again i hope for many years to come☺

Absolutely stunning photos. There are so many things I'd like to have on my photos, for example that "feeling" and I also am struggling to focus on many horses at the same time as well I notice my focused area to be slightly inprecise. What shoud I fix?

I should do a video on focusing techniques soon, but the short answer is that I generally use only the center focus point, then I recomposed to get my compassion. With most cameras, the center point is most accurate. With my current camera, Canon 5D Mk IV, there are more focus points that have the accuracy of the center one, so I do move it around more often. But that's a place to start. Also, sometimes cameras and lenses fall out of calibration with each other, so that could be happening to as well. To fix it, you usually need to send them in to the manufacturer, unless your camera supports lens calibration. I hope this helps!
