An Optiplex 3010. If you know what to look for, very recognizable. The X010 series were the last series which did come with a 24-pin connector on the mobo. It’s a 3010/7010/9010 model. The x020 models (4th gen) were when they went (more) proprietary. Still uses proprietary front panel connections. Not the easiest thing to swap a normal board into that and use the front panel. Also, the last dell to support XP. Oh god these things are so hard to covert to a sleeper. I did it for an optiplex 7010 with an asrock b450m steel legend and a Vega 56 and the front panel headers are very proprietary (especially the usb2/audio header), there are pin outs on forums but be prepared for front panel audio to not work. You also need either a dremel or a sacrificial screw and a lot of force because the hard drive cage is part of the case. You can actually attach a 120mm fan/AIO in the front with 2 screws once the hard drive cage is removed, so I’m very much looking forward to how the next video will look

Wouldn't it be easier to use a drill bit + drill and drill out all the rivets since the HDD cage is riveted in? It's what I plan to do, and the front I/O I'm thinking of using a 5.25" bay to USB & 3.5/2.5" drive adapter and covering up the old I/O (I don't use front audio ports, and I've also heard front audio ports are not optimal anyway due to interference but I believe it varies based on cable quality). As for the proprietary power/reset cable that should be easy enough with soldering and heat shrink tubing onto standard connectors

Dawd, Thanks for the video. I always enjoy your content. However, ... I think calling it a scam computer does it a disservice. It looks, to me, to be a responsibly upcycled PC. Contrary to your sarcasm, used PC upcycling is still a relevant thing. There really is no need for a student to struggle with the horribly cheep Chromebooks that schools loan out. Not when a used PC can and will do the job better at a very reasonable price. E waste aside, it is the perfect PC for a fourteen - sixteen year old. It will do the task, play some game and look kool enough for them to feel good owning it. love the review. Remember kids, be humble, be respectful, and own your dignity like you can afford to share it.

You can get a new system for near that cost, minus a graphics card. The cost of the upcycled PC is what is a little ridiculous. The processor was released 9 years ago. I have some similar HP systems (no RGB, and no GT 1030, or graphics card) and 4th gen i5 that I'd let go for $120. I don't have that sweet ewaste to go with it though.

None of those builds came to near the cost of building a new PC. @ $150 Flipped for a reasonable $ 250. What is ridiculous is what uninformed sellers are getting from uninformed consumers. However, when the price and reasonable expectations are given consideration, one realizes that they can get a good deal of performance for little money.
