Lyrics:
I can't get it up (he can't get it up)
I can't get it up (he can't get it up)
Brought a lady home with me tonight (oooh)
We were huggin' and a kissin' and holdin' on tight
And though this gal looked like a movie star
My little guy was sleepin' at the wheel behind the car
I can't get it up (he can't get it up)
I can't get it up (he can't get it up)
I've tried drugs
I've tried pictures
I've stared at ancient paintings and marble sculptures
I've tried herbs
I've tried voodoo
But nothin' gets him movin' no matter what I do!
I can't get it up (he can't get it up)
I can't get it up (he can't get it up)
I've been to France
I've been to Spain
I've had acupuncture done and felt the pain
I've quit drinkin'
Been to porno theaters
I've set up camp for weeks on European beaches!
I can't get it up (he can't get it up)
I can't get it up (he can't get it up)
Went to the doctor to get checked out (ooh)
He prodded and he fondled, and he threw it all about
And when he put on the glove to check my colon out
I felt my man wake up and start movin’ all about
But I can’t get it up (The doc got it up)
No I can’t get it up (this counts as up!)

This could have been a big, strong hit, but it just couldn't rise up the charts.

The B-side was Don't be too hard-on yourself. Not many people know that, to quote Michael Caine.

I remember cruising Malibu beach in 1963 and I got a pup tent in my pants from dancing to this song with bee hive hairdo women. Today Im in a nursing home and the only women have dementia or dont speak English. Im wearing a diaper and singing this song because I cant get it up.

If nothing else, you'll always have Malibu Beach '63 and that memorable Woody Woodpecker to keep you going . . .

I was conceived to this song after my parent's senior prom in 1964. Which must've had a South american theme, because I'm more of a señor prom night kid, if you know what I mean.

Dyke Luv was obviously always the weak link in this band but i still love them. That period in the early 60s was great for them i remember seeing them live a few times.

Jazz musician Woody Herman performed alongside the 'Brothers at Woodstock accompanying them on the skin clarinet. The performance however, was described as flaccid and disappointing by Organ magazine and the magazine Uncut rated them as listless and ductile.
