Here's how I broke the sprint world record with a Naruto run! By attaching high powered EDF jets to my hands and wearing special slip shoes, I am able to get enough thrust to run 29mph! This technically beats Usain Bolts record of 27mph. Subscribe to see us turn this into a Jet Pack next.

    You can improve these "shoes with jets" by placing some springs inside of the shoes. That way you can keep sliding and gain a good height so you will use less force for running and probably more speed then Bolt.

    I’ve had an idea similar to this before, but instead of the thrust being attached to your arms, it’s attached to your waist on a belt. That way the thrust is also pushing more on your center of mass. You’d need to angle the thrusters at a slightly upward angle to keep them from pushing you into the ground.

  • @furryalpacca8634

  • @furryalpacca8634

    @furryalpacca8634

    Жыл бұрын

    @@theaumguy1621 I do IT for a living so I always think about possible issues, so I am not trying to discourage you / patronize you :) There are 2 issues with this idea, first if you have like 60+lbs thrust on your waist you won't really be able to counteract that with less power on your arms. Also stopping is an issue, even if you turn the waist thrusters off, it's going to be difficult to counteract the momentum with small thrusters on your arm. This might be fine if you are secure in keeping a good posture, but if you fall forwards you have 60lbs thrust slamming you into the ground. You'd have to react super fast in turning the waist thrusters off and counteracting it, which I think is unrealistic. I could however imagine writing code that reads data from a gryroscope sensor thingy, which would then turn off the waist thrusters as soon as there is a slight shift. This would increase security, but I still think it's a hazard since you A) still have to counteract with arm thrusters & B) having your waist thrust turn off early on if you can't keep the right posture

    @@furryalpacca8634 yes.. that might have a soultion with gyroscope.. but again i agree, the first test is still going to be very high risk. what if something fails. like the code might be setup like.. that the back thrusters only work at a particular angle range and gyroscope values.. but what if we are missing some edge cases. So the risk of trying out real life stuff based on calculation is the main issue.

  • @theaumguy1621

    @@furryalpacca8634 I really love people trying to think/talk about solutions for exact problems, even more so if they have knowledge about it. I can only agree with what you said.. maybe i have 2 soultions for that 1. Maybe its possible that the stronger thruster only works in pulses? so its not constant pushing you, only when a feet touches the ground? or at least have some buttons to controll the power output? or 2. Is it possible to make your body seem lighter without having such a huge thrust at the waist, by lowering the power but tilt it more upwards?

    I think you for the next iteration should leave the very front of your shoes with full grip for a truer sliding run, so as long as you're actually running heel-toe you can slide each foot the moment it hits the ground until you're ready to push off again on that leg. You'd have to relocate the propulsion mech though, likely to your back or shoulders for a straight push forwards.

    A couple things you could add: -a few small jets on either side of your waist, to propel your legs similarly to your upper body -traction, but only on the tips of your shoes for when you push your legs -weights, to lower your center of gravity (sounds counterintuitive but could be easily countered with the extra jets)

    Cool video! A trigger attached to a pneumatic actuator attached with an exoskeleton to the knees or thighs, to prevent over extension and injury for each leg, would be able to do catapulting force to create longer strides so you could stride like a Cheetah which are recorded to have strides of up to 22 feet helping them achieve 70 MPH speeds. Like the Hulk jumping and running. Legs don't need to move faster, they just need to push harder to achieve record breaking strides. Keep up the awesome work!
