@@bilijoful They put a lot of timber in after cutting there, and they had that pocket reference book to tell them what size timber. It was just... _after_ they cut that one flimsy metal stud. :)

The fact that one of the secret entrances was inspired by a secret passage at OmegaMart is JUST SO COOL!

honestly I've wanted a house with a secret room/passageways my entire life lmfao, and this looks amazing!! I love how much you were able to put there, water and ventilation included!

The amount of energy that James has now is uncomparable to before he stepped back to let the other guys and gals do videos, I'm so glad they made that change to allow him some much needed rest.

All the crew reactions to actually seeing the full build was priceless. An amazing build, as always!

Normally I'd be envious and while I certainly am I can't think of a better person to be living the dream like this. All your content just makes me smile.

I've crawled through a lot of those spaces and moving all of that just seemed completely insane to me. Amazing work.

James going full Doctor Who and hiding a stairway inside a cloud is one of the coolest things ever!

For those wondering; the fridge entrance he mentioned is part of the Omega Mart attraction created by Meow Wolf. The entire store it resides in is based on supernatural, uncanny shopping mart experiences, such as self aware cleaning bottles & lemons with an eye. It's an amazing experience & has a rich, bizarre, hidden story behind it that you can discover like a giant ARG (quite literally one if I'm not mistaken).

I still can't believe how far this channel has came. I will always remember when this was just a dude in his garage with a laser cutter building an exoskeleton and like 10k subs maybe even less when I subbed. Crazy.

James is currently living out the fantasy of a lot of us in having his own secret lair. I'm jealous of him, and all the props to him for pulling this off! Sometimes yalls videos always find a way to amaze me and always makes me on why yall do it

This is a fantastic idea for james specifically with all his mental health issues. But the only thing i think about is that the staff should maybe also have something similar, a relax room with comforts to help them unwind during their breaks etc. at work. Imagine this but a little bit more communal, like how Linus has his games room and cinema room etc. I love this approach to stimulating the brain while at work to allow stress levels to fizzle down for an hour or 2 during the work day before cracking on. We have all seen the studies that a happy worker is a productive worker.

Hey @theHacksmith - been watching your content for years. I love the secret room. Just out of curiosity, do you happen to have a parts list for your lightning ceiling? What type of material did you use for the clouds?? Also addressable Led strips, were these difficult to wire up, what kind of driver did you use to power them?? I have two young ones who thought this was amazing and I'm considering a build for each of their rooms!

Cotton fluff from the craft store (or Walmart!) -- 3m super77 spray glue to hold it up, and pretty much any smart LED strip has a sound reactive mode that you can turn on to get lightning like effects with the sound of thunderstorms! Super easy to do

Absolutely loved this!! What a transformation from the before and after. Knew it would be unreal Hacksmith fashion, but this was something else! 🔥

I like that these guys show the inevitable failures as the build progresses. Those types of fails always happen on prototype/first builds. Showing that in the videos they create is very cool.

I’ve always loved these projects

This video has the same energy as the old videos gave us. True happiness and passion going into a project. Keep it up, these are the types of videos I keep coming back for... well the lightsabers too.

This is hands down the coolest thing I have ever seen. My favorite part is the thunderstorm cloud ceiling. I want that in my room so bad.

This video feels less prepared and more chaotic in a Michael Reeves but less crazy way I love it ! Feels like some family, building a "secret" tree house for the kids, but instead of clearing branches you redirect gas and water main !

I absolutely love imaginative use of small spaces. I really hope this does get some use. And please James install a latch to keep the roof hatch open if you're staying out there!

3:08 had me staring because half the cover of that pocket ref is identical to an MS-DOS pocket ref which looked 30 years out of date when I picked it up in the 90s! The globe might seem 90s, but the gold foil, serif font, and rich dark colour were all sharp contrasts to a world of vapour wave where the future was sans. _And_ living above your workspace was normal. ;) Fun times, the 90s. ... I _so_ wish I could have built something like this in the 90s! Good on you for going ahead and doing it. :D

My thoughts exactly. It sure looks cool as hell. But if anything, I hope his employees get a raise and are not made to work during the weekend as the video seems to imply they had to, because it seems quite obvious he can afford as much.

I've lived at work, both with and without permission. I worked at a concert venue with a large comfortable patio area, I lived there for like 6 months. Another place had an unused common basement with the building next door, I built a nice little squat down there.
