I Built My Own Submarine: The Ultimate DIY Challenge
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video, I'm sharing my story of how I built my own one-man personal submersible (submarine) from scratch as a hobby. This DIY adventure was a challenging and rewarding experience and A LOT of work, but it was worth it in the end!
I've always loved exploring the ocean, but scuba diving can only take you so far. That's why I decided to build my own one-man submarine. It wasn't an easy task. I had to research everything from the materials to the design. But I was determined to make it happen.
If you're interested in DIY projects or just want to see how someone built a one-man submarine from scratch, then check out this video! This build was a fun and challenging experience, and I'm excited to share it with you!

Give us more details, how deep did you go, how many times, total hours, AMAZING accomplishment! Big thumbs down to the comment that tells you to take your video down.

I came here thinking you were going to make fun of the Titan situation. I had no idea you legitimately made your own craft. That is amazing, and I have a new respect for how mechanically inclined and smart you really are.

@@garlicboy5692Yup... It's almost as if he realised the unutterably terrible consequences of what might happen if he failed to take his project seriously-enough or took stupid risks with people's lives, isn't it? The fact that Steve also listened to what the "old, white, grey-haired experts" on the subject at-hand had to say after surviving their 30+ year careers doing everything by-the-book, rather than refusing to hire any of these pros with all their hard-won knowledge and experience because those old-guys in their 50s "Weren't inspirational enough for the youth of today" and were "Too set in their old-fashioned (ie proper...) ways" 🙄 as I read the guy behind the Titan project had said in an interview... So, a huge win for Steve's "old-fashioned" common frikkin sense 😁👍, and sadly a huge and terrible loss for those poor people who believed The Hype, huh?

@@aaube2659I understand that you’re only joking, and I’m also aware that this probably sounds like I’m trying to be a smart ass, that is accurate, the thing is, there is absolutely no scenario where you could process any last thoughts when we are talking about an implosion. It is just as violent and “instant” as an explosion from overpressure. Take a small balloon, blow it up, stick it a bucket of water and pop it. Now consider that the pressure differential between that balloon and the water inside the bucket is pretty much negligible when you compare it to the ocean water at a depth of thousands of feet.

I would never build something for humans, but I feel it would be SO fun to build a drone sub.
Thought about doing that when I was a lot younger but never had the guts or money at the same time. Would like to hear more about the adventures of designing, building and using it.
We need more information on your submarine story like how many times did you go down and how far to go down and how do you Propel the thing
Good Lort! I believe him!! Crazy!! Nothing like Yankee wit, if you like that kind of stuff!! Glad my folks took a left when they got off the boat.

Geez, Steve! That's impressive! Dead serious engineering applied on your project. Do you still have the sub? And, did April know you were going down?
I'm glad you did the research and made yours safely and that you knew and accepted the max depths to attempt. The Titan was taken down, or was supposed to go, 3-4 times deeper than it ever should have been. Congratulations on your achievement. That's impressive! I wonder if you'll be taking it down again.
What about the "Flying Car" you got one of those tucked away somewhere??? ;-)
Awesome accomplishment Steve. I’ve always been drawn to the water, boats, bridges, shoreline, underwater! Must be amazing to go down in your own sun and look around!

So cool! Never thought about doing that or what all you have to account for - CO2 scrubbers. The portal, how to make sure every hole in the tanks not only have seals but seals that keep out water. Amazing! How deep did you go? Going to the bottom of an 8’ deep pool is my limit. If I cannot see the surface - I am going up!
Very cool project! Like to here more. I was at one time to build a kind of helicopter powered by a 1945 45 cu in old Hrley engin that I had laying around and I was going to call it my Harleycopter. I'm still here so obviously I didn't get around to it
And Cheers! to the Minnow!!! :)

Cool toy. We have to respect the people who were in the sub, the other side of high stakes adventure is that accidents will happen. Sad, but they happen.
How many beers does it hold and what cc rating is the leaf blower motor that powers it?? You're a legend mate, it doesn't surprise me that you built this!!

Cool man ,,, i always knew the water ran deeper than it seemed. Would love to know how you made out on that adventure !! You are awesome , but i have to say you are more awesome with April in the video, no disrespect man but i love the new format of the Q &A because it opens up a whole new experience for the person that might feel intimidated by working on their own small engines and April asks a lot of the questions that im sure some guys and gals are to embarrassed or afraid to ask and you answer each question with respect. I am a 310t the mechanic outside of Ottawa Ontario , 59 years old and i learn something from all of your videos . I heat buy wood and thanks to you and Donnie Boy everything 2 stroke in the yard runs great. Cheers man and please keep up the great work that you and April do . Gord out .
