    It's all calculations. There are enough people that will eat very little and go. But the attitude the service is what will always keep the business going . Next month they can make it 19.99 for all you can eat and people will be happy to pay that as well as they feel well .I'm going were I feel OK, not where is cheapest and where service will make me leave angry.

    As a former general manager for Applehell, I can definitely tell you those ribs are 100% real pork ribs. They come in 50lb cases (back then), and our main supplier was in Sweden of all places. They are seasoned with burger fry (salt, pepper & garlic) seared on the grill, then steamed with liquid smoke in the bottom of a large raised pan. When done properly, they really are delicious 😋 the riblet comes from the back end of the spareribs

    However, what Applebees refers to as “riblets” are actually “button ribs,” which are actually not ribs at all. They're from a long, thin cut of meat that runs along the spine just after the rearmost rib, a cut that's around 6 inches long, 1 ½ inches wide, and ¼ inch thick.

    Riblets are pre cooked, once they are cooked they are kept refrigerated until needed. They are then microwaved until hot, and the grill flavor is from when they're thrown on the grill before being sent out. Wings and shrimp come frozen. Source: worked there long enough there in the kitchen. Good video, I still go once in a while for that standard taste that's made.

    Riblets is a name for a variety of parts. My best guess is that these are "button ribs". Circular shaped bones located at the last five or so bones of the backbone. It's not really a part of the rib but its sits right next to them. Think of it maybe as a loin type rib. Sweden, where I'm originally from is a big exporter of this particular cut. Thanks for the video!

    The pork ribs are legit. I remember back in the mid 90s working for an Applebee's it was a huge seller especially during the "All You Can Eat" promos which had a line out the door and customers waiting hours just to get in to eat and often we run out of them in the middle of the shift. We would cook on the broil 5-8 cases seasoned with burger fry seasoning and then steamed for 90 minutes with a liquid smoke . They were cooled then portioned. When you ordered them? We would reheat and apply bacon grease with a brush on the broil and lather them with Bullseye BBQ sauce before plating them.

    Love your videos, I have been binge watching them for weeks! I always wonder if someone with your ability has to have that awkward conversation with the servers that don’t encounter people such as yourself. Do you have to reveal you are a professional eater for them to bring out so many subsequent orders FAST fast? Do you call ahead? I would love to see an awkward conversation with staff, because I love watching how some* establishments make your challenge harder, in one way or another haha. Beast. Keep up the great content, have a nice day!

    Applebee's "Riblets" are actually called Button Ribs which is a long cut of meat that runs along the spine.

  • @Vincent_Beers

    @Vincent_Beers

    Жыл бұрын

    They may as well be called scrap, it's what gets trimmed off a rib to make st louis style cut ribs, one end of the rib near the spine becomes riblets (usually still with a slice of bone in it), the other end by the belly is trimmed off and sold as rib tips (with the chunk of cartilage from that end)

    Riblets are a real part of the animal. When ribs are trimmed for sale in the traditional "st louis style" cut, the two ends become left over scrap meat, these are riblets and rib tips. Riblets come from where the butcher removes the rounded end of a slab of rib bones at the spine end. They should be the short flat pieces that are left over once the curved portion is trimmed away. Typically they have a little bit of bone in each. Rib tips are the other end of the ribs, they don't include bone but instead have a thick piece of cartilage. The cartilage and the attached chunk of meat are sold as rib tips. Between the two, rib tips have more of their own flavor as they come from the side that is closer to the belly of the pig and have more fat.

    Riblets can be 2 different things, 1 being a rack of ribs cut lengthwise in half so you have riblets basically, and then there is a flap of meat on spare ribs that you'd normally trim off that is also cut into pieces and called riblets.

    I think they may have missed some of your refills. Doing a rough count it looked like 20 or 22 but you said 4 went to your buddy which would put you at around 18 but it definitely seemed like you had more than 18 plates. Maybe sometime in the future I'll have to try and count the actual plates brought out to you. Good work though joel always nice to see a restaurant honor the unlimited spirit.

    You should weigh your ayce foods one day to see just how much you're downing when there's no time limit just for the purely scientific reasons. You could have a contest to see who guesses the closest to the correct amount. Seems like it would be an interesting game. Maybe give away some genuine JH merch to the 5 or so best guesses.
