@TheCod3r Thanks a lot for the videos on repairing the nintendo switch. I would like to ask a question, i hope you can have time to answer. After watching your videos i came to the conclusion that my Switch has a bad M92T36, but the charging port looks ok. Can it be a just a bad M92T36 and the port still be fine ? What are the causes that IC to get faulty ? Thank you
Legend man. Very good.
love the videos bro
Your very talented at what you do thanks for the good videos

Hi Phil, what kind of solution and at what ratio do you use with the deionized water inside the ultrasonic cleaner? I Bought an ultrasonic cleaner recently but the results haven't been stellar. I've used it with ipa and deoinized water 50-50 for two minutes but it doesn't seem to clean well and it leaves a white residue on the board. Thanks, love your videos!
@TheCod3r
Жыл бұрын
Cheers bud! I use Allendale flux remover, I actually sell it on my website cheaper than what Allendale themselves sell it (by the litre). It's designed as a 10 to 1 ratio (10l deionized water to 1l cleaning fluid) and works really well. I usually pre heat my cleaner to 50⁰C and then run the board in it for about 10-15 minutes and then scrub it with a brush while it's still in the cleaner
You could put the board into a small tub of fluid inside the ultrasonic cleaner save bending the shield
It be pretty Kool to see you and Steve build a board together like from a ps4 or something man it would be a pretty Kool to see
Brilliant video as always 👏 also @TheCod3r I'm sending you a switch lite in for repair , have put the order in packaging up tomorrow

Hey matey, did you say in the video you have a website? What is it please?
M92 is a blessing and a curse. it's mostly to blame/along with usb c for no powers. but at the same time it limites damaged to the rest of the board, unless you are really unlucky with cpu/bent pins.
Would you look at buying a cheap dehydrator? Put the board in after cleaning and let it slowly dry out the board
Good job!
another great vid.
What chemicals do you use in the ultrasonic cleaner? And what is the size on your cleaner?

Nice to see the video started the same as the rest haha I paid waaayy too much for this switch HAHA
Nice resurrection. Another device saved from the landfill.
Love the mug 😜. Good video. Not thought about heating the board up from the underside before will use that in work ✌🏻. Still got a PS4 Slim to repair. Do you know what size BGA balls it uses on the main APU? I suspect the solder joints are damaged from being dropped as at first I got no video in spite of everything checking out ok (Port/HDMI IC etc). Now it won't turn on at all after changing the port. I removed the port again and made no difference.
@novakanedj1
Жыл бұрын
To note the machine did refuse to power up at all without pressure from the heatsink bracket before which backs up the damaged joints theory.
@TheCod3r
Жыл бұрын
Cheers bud, it works wonders. The balls will be 0.5mm or 0.55mm depending what stencil you have 😀
@novakanedj1

@@TheCod3r I have a couple of sizes of solder balls will have to check what they are. I will probably have to re-ball it manually as I don't think the stencils I've got for BGA chips will marry up.

Ouch that won't be fun lol, I've done that a few times. If you have a similar stencil go ahead and line them up and then finish it manually, makes it much quicker if they're close to lined up 😉
Cool fix... im goto have a go at doing a switch i got but the chips are sooo small. And I have a cheaper hòt air station so its melted a kindle and burnt the desk lol 😆 Also you mentioned the perent lock on a. Couple of switch videos... there's a way to remove it without nintendo. Depending on model.. its called. salt mkey generator Hope it helps 😅

What sort of a muppet leaves aluminum tape on the board, I get it is useful for diverting hot air away from components but you'd think they'd take it off after they are done
@GADBabaganoosh
Жыл бұрын
should have used kapton tape instead!
@Ghost572
Жыл бұрын
@@GADBabaganoosh I think the aluminum tape is good because its rigid and doesn't blow over when air is blown on it, the only thing I'm wondering is what is the danger from the glue being heated up. So from a safetly point of view its probaly better to use Kapton tape.
My mate vice is the only one who takes on switches I thought.
Don’t suppose you would fancy recapping an Amiga a1200??
Awsome!!
Hi dude what happned to the I bought 10 broken switches video you did a part 1 and then never bother with the other part 😢😢
Sweet!
Maybe you need to go to Japan, and look for a broken Nintendo Switch at a very cheap price..
I wish I had the skill , knowledge and patience to do this....
I am a sexy bitch, thanks for telling me that with the cup, I know it was a hidden message to me...🤣. Great video Phil. Thanks
Looked like someones first attempt at using a solder iron and heat gun, just a guess they did the chip first realised they melted bits and went too lightly and hesitently with the solder rod temp just enough to make the solder melt, all in all could have been far worse out of ten for the previous repair attempt I'd be generous and say 6/10 for effort and workwise 5/10 even though the fault weren't fixed they tried and sent it to a propper tech before they did further damage.
👍 awesome
Nice!
