Repairing the transmission or replacing? The HVAC is kinda hard to do on these

Hi Kyle, you have good reviews of different MB models. I own a W210 M104 and its the one parked inside my garage. All my latest model vehicles are parked outside. Hahahahha

Glad to see you repurchased back your old w140... I bought a unit during the first lockdown last year in July...am thinking of upgrading to a w221 but after seeing your video on the w140... I am having seconds thoughts about this...

I’m very happy with my purchase as well. Definitely missed this car. I’ve rode the W221 already and while it’s pretty good, there’s just something about these old Mercs like the W140 that make you look for them time and time again

The W140 is one of those highly reliable Benz out there thats overbuilt to last. If I have my say, Id like to have one as well. I remember someone used to sell the V12 W140 a few years ago.

The W140 is great all around, but I suggest avoiding the S600 V12. It’s a big pain to maintain

Will do a proper review on it with my usual format soon, once it’s in better shape. Yep, she had one.... but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to save her :(( It was an S280 SWB decoy car. Her original car was supposed to be an S600 LWB.... the extra wheelbase COULD have saved her... we’ll never know :(

How does the engine handle the car’s weight? I know the S Class is quite a heavy car.

The 3.2L is surprisingly able to cope with the car’s heft. Not fast by any standard, but adequate, especially given the tiny roads of Manila. Not sure about the 2.8L on the S280 though. I’ve driven an SL280 R129 and although it was also adequate on that, I doubt it will be on the W140

Nice looking Mercedes you plan on doing any upgrades to it.

@@KyleLiongCars Yeah. That was it. It was quite famous landmark back then. There was an Inquirer article about his family moving out because they sold it to Vistaland. Just don't know if it is still online. You have a piece of history with you. He was Pres. Cory's VP and the last Prime Minister as well. His last position was Chairman of the Phil. Centennial Commission under Pres. Ramos. So this car was probably the one he used when he was chairman. Sorry. Long reply.

No no thanks for the informative reply. Ok fun fact 2, the Orig orig ORCR was not under his personal name. It was under Phil. Centennial Expo Corp. then it was transferred to his name. Upon his death, it was transferred to his wife, Sen. Salonga’s son’s company, and then to a Mandaluyong councillor, before finally being transferred to my name

@@KyleLiongCars I guess the Laurels and the Salongas are family friends since they were active in the campaign against the dictatorship. The Salongas' house in Valle Verde 4 (minus the traffic) is near the Laurels' house in Shaw. Laurel died in 2004 and Sen. Pres. Salonga a few years ago. His house is still in Valle 4.

Always wanted a classic Merc question 🙋🏻‍♂️ If you maintain your Merc well will it be reliable enough to be your daily? I’m really interested in owning a classy car than JDMs I have no problem and hate it’s just my preference.

Yes totally possible. Classic Mercs are very dailyable. I’ve once daily drove my W124 before, and I know some people who daily drives their W124 as well. W140 is totally dailyable too mechanically but the gas consumption sure isn’t hahaha

Depends on the condition. Anywhere between 300K to sky’s the limit

Don't see that much s class of that era here in Cebu. A fixer upper but still a beauty. Looking forward 👍 one of the best s class though.. As teutonic as it can be.
