No doubt, apparently some wanna be has had his sick skinners in there 😂 you can always tell right off. Silicone around shit, like that stator coil, I’d have ripped that outta there as soon as I saw that. I’ve done it for a long time, I see one too far gone I send it down the road.

That was my very first ATV…97 Warrior 350…same color too. Bought it new in 97 for 4600 out the door. Sold it in 2003 to a co-worker whom still has it today, but doesn’t run now. I rebuilt a 98 warrior last yr, & added a wiseco 10.25:1 piston, stage 2 hotcam,K&N air filter, FMF header, HMF pipe & it def wakes that engine up. It’s not Z400 fast, but it’s def better than stock. Also…put the OEM carb back on. I messed around for ever with a $40 Chinese carb…it ran but ran like crap. I broke down & finally bought an OEM carb, & bam, started right up & idled great. Another great vid…enjoy seeing the nitty gritty of doing a rebuild. Whomever worked on that last sure didn’t pay attention to the small details that matter 😳

Dope vid man. Someone probably commented by now. But the bike would've started sooner had you not throttled it so much. Theirs an accelerator pump on these carbs. So when you push throttle without it running, it's just flooding it out. How this helps. Keep it up man

Had a Warrior that made a loud metal crunching sound years ago when I was slamming gears full throttle. Drained the oil and it looked very similar to what you found there. Bigger chunks, smaller chunks and metal shavings. Anyway, cleaned it up then replaced the oil. No idea what let loose because it still ran great, shifted through all the gears great and sounded fine. I assumed something broke in the clutch basket or a bolt came loose. Never did bother tearing it down to investigate further because it still functioned perfectly normal. They are tough machines.

Four-wheelers must be cheaper where you live than where I live." However, after watching the entire video, I now know why you got such a "great" deal!! Lol. I punched it out to a 420 completely repaired frame and plastics etc. Still runs great been almost 12 years. Wife's favorite quad, it's a 6 speed.

Just got my 97 RM125 back together yesterday and I was excited after rebuilding the exhaust/powerband valves. Switched it to what FMF recommends to jet your bike for that year and I kicked it over and the RPM’s shot straight through the roof so I’m going to take apart csrb again and go back to the 170 jet and not the 172 I put it in

Oh, and just to let you know since misery loves company. I'm in sorta the same boat. Bought a Traimaster 150 xrs kart a while back. It has a gy6 150cc honda clone. I got it really cheap, but it did not run. It actually looked overall to be in fair/good condition. but after I got it home and worked on it some, I found tons of stripped hardware and other little problems. It didn't have an air filter on it, and the guy I got it from said a stray dog must have carried it away :) He wasn't the brightest bulb. Anywhoo, I figured he'd been riding it like that for a while so it likely needed a top end. No biggie. When I got it home, I checked all the usual, has oil, has spark (after a couple hours fixing some electrical issues) etc. Still won't run. I sprayed some brake clean in the carb. Nothing. Sprayed a little more. Nothing. Checked spark again. still good. Sprayed a little more, cranked it. It backfired and set the carb and heat shield on fire. The heat shield is plastic, and was already in very rough shape, but I finished it off for good by killing it with fire :o Turns out it had a burned intake valve, which allowed ignited fuel to travel back out the intake side setting the WAY too much brake clean I sprayed on fire. The intake valve was WAY too tight, and it had been burned pretty badly. The rings and cylinder didn't look great either, so I just got a new top end kit including new head, jug, piston, rings, and just replaced the whole thing. Got it all back together and in the kart. And it started right up! Took it down the road and it died and would not restart. Had to do the push of shame back to the garage :( Long story short, bad cdi. That fixed the "runs for 1-2 minutes, then dies and loses spark" issue. Now, I think. finally! I can take it for a rip. Nope... turns out that it starts easy, idles great, but will not turn more than about 3500 rpm. Anything more, and it acts like it is flooding. And when I WOT, it blows gasoline out of the carb... Even longer story short, timing chain is so stretched, that the valve timing is several degrees off, no matter how I orient the cam sprocket. It's always too retarded or too advanced. New timing chain kit in the mail. Should be here tomorrow. I just finished taking it back out of the kart, and tearing it down and removed the old chain. I can flex it side to side about 5 inches :O Hopefully, after the new chain gets here, it will FINALLY be running good. We'll see....

Hey brother, I know I have given you some flak about safety, but that was my career at one time. however, before finding your site, I knew very little about motorcycles. I look forward to your posts, daily. You are one sharp cookie. l am into cars. I had a bad experience with motorcycles, watched my younger brother go down in front of me riding my 1968 Kawi Mach 3 500. He hit an oil slick, dumped, spun out into an oncoming car and bounced off of the side of the side of it. Honestly, I thought he was dead. He was coughing up blood, scared the crap out of me, however, he had on a helmet, leathers and engineers boots. this was 1971. He is still kicking, talked to him last night. residual pain currently from that incident in his chest and upper back. So, BE CAREFULL!

Got a feeling the quad blew up before, they've done a bad repair or rebuild judging by the way the cam sprocket was put on backwards. I think they've had the head off or at least messed with the top end. I think they've got the rockers mixed up and need swapping, that would account for why they don't sit right on the top of the valve. Washer off the clutch end shaft maybe?

What happened to you rebuilding the raptor motor? We love watching your videos bub.

I had a 98 warrior, I put a 2005 350 raptor engine on it when i had it. Also that is not the stock pipe that is on yours. Make sure you check the oil pump, every late 90's warrior engine I ever had, also had issues with a weak oil pump and then since no oil was getting to the top end, it would shear off the cam gear for the timing chain. That's why I put a 2005 raptor engine on and all I had to do was take the stator off the Warrior engine and put it on the raptor engine.

I always enjoy your videos and hope you great success. Why do you still not know that 4 stroke engines take 2 revolutions to complete all the cycles? T.D.C. happens once at power stroke and once at valve overlap! YOU CAN NOT SET VALVES AT OVERLAP!!!

Probably a great candidate for parting out only because it would be a quad you would sell if you could fix it cheap. Based on this video that does not seem to be the case so parting out is what I expect.

The washer that you found could probably have fallen from the timing sprocket since it was backwards they probably dropped it and just put a new one

I used to put put the smack down on my friends warrior back in the day with a 300ex with a rejet, filter, and dg slip on. I always wondered how I could beat him so bad having a smaller displacement motor. Warrior is like the girlfriend quad. Not too fast not too expensive. But sufficient for trail riding.

rod bearings and the bearing in the case crank bearing I think for the big ball bearing. needle bearing are the rod bearings. I hope the case is not cracked or broken. May be you will get lucky and you can just replace the crank bearings and rod bearings???? If so maybe a viewer has rebuildable motor.

I got a warrior in this morning that s a huge pile of dookie, never been greased bent locked up swing arm bolt, axle and hub bent to hell. Has bout 90 psi compression, runs like crap but he don't want to address it.the entire silencer is fiberglass bondo from junction to tip. Sad too cause it's an 02. Sick world, gonna own em take care of em. You feel the same I know. Great vid, I will tell you those are infamous for frying stator. My wife's has been through 3 of em.
