We Rescued a Yamaha Warrior 350 from the Crusher! Will it Run Again?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Yamaha Warrior 350 is one of my favorite sport ATVs! They're equipped with a simple and powerful 350cc air cooled engine and 5 speed transmission. They're not as powerful as the Raptor 660 or Raptor 700, but they make up for it in agility and playfulness. Charles owned a Yamaha Raptor 350 years ago, and I've been looking for a similar quad ever since. Today, I bought a clapped out 2000 Yamaha Warrior for $50! The previous owner told me he couldn't get it running and he was going to haul it off to the crusher if I didn't want it. Miraculously, we got this old sport quad running again!

You can really tell Charles is a experienced mechanic, and being a decent fabricator he is a big asset to your channel. Also that pipe should be good for $100.00 if you clean it up before you sell it. Great deal John

Can’t steal parts off of it now. You’ll have a blast riding that at the off road park! They have tons of torque. 3rd gear is the sweet spot on these for trail riding. Plenty of low end torque and top speed cruising in 3rd.

Back when I was racing enduros I made my own brakes. Take an old set of car/truck pads and hacksaw the remaining pad off (3.00 to 5.00 mm thick). Shape with bench grinder and use 5min JB Weld. Helpful hint’s rough up the backings and pads, install in a vice for an hour or so to let dry. store bought pads would last one race (150 miles or so) and I could get two races with my set. Good luck and thanks for sharing your thoughts, time and videos with us and me.

It always amazes me that people buy dirt bikes and power equipment and know literally NOTHING about how they work to the point they can't even plug a wire back in or do basic maintenance of any kind. I guess its a win for us since we can pick up $50 quads and dirt bikes to play with or sell on for a profit.

@@panfriedmarmot Back in the late 1980's, a couple of friends & myself bought 3 x 1970's CZ 175-477 Sport & a 1979 CZ 125-481 Trail (as rare as hens teeth!!) as a job lot from a local motorcycle breakers,, for £75. I rode one of the Sport models from the yard to a bike dealers, where it passed the MOT inspection, and back home. The fault with it was the timing was set to fire 1 inch before BDC. One of the other Sport & the Trail models also had badly set points, so ran fine. The remaining sport model was seized but was fixed after replacing the crank journal bearings & seals, which is only an hour long job on CZ singles. Out of all the cheap "nothing seriously wrong / previous owner was mechanically ignorant" bikes, these four were the best bargains.

Sometimes when an engine sits for a long time the oil in the rings dries up and the compression will go down until it’s run enough to work oil back into the rings. You might be able to crank it without the spark plug to pump oil back out to the rings and your compression can go up. I’ve seen people put oil in the cylinder too but that makes me worry about bending a rod if I don’t get enough oil out.

Now that’s a deal! Small error, can discourage anyone. Just takes the right someone to find it and put it back. Awesome job

That's a epic win on that one guys, I ironically had the same issue with a Cagiva MiTo at work this week two pairs of plugs that are interchangeable. They had been put the wrong way round and was instantly blowing the main fuse, quick switcheroo jobs a peach 😂. Sometimes it's the simplest things 👍

This video brings back memories. Had a 350 warrior. Tough as all get out. Only weak spot is the rear axle housing seals fail and bearings go shortly after.

Ike ,Charles and John could each have their own channel ,Ike does and I love it, but together they are a fun special trio . Waiting for the book of their journey together . Cars and Cameras…… the beginning .
