Sometimes the deal can be real lol I remember when I got hurt at work and I was loosing everything and I had to sell my quad as the wife’s car was repo’ed it was 2009 and I put my 2007 Honda rancher 420 up for 4500 ! I needed the cash bad and I received hundreds of emails saying my quad must be stolen ! Well one very lucky fella came and got it as I had tears running down my face as he drove away with it ! Sometimes someone’s misery can be your gain 👍 love the vids 👍

At least I know I wasn't the only one going through times like that. Sure felt like I was. They shut my plant down had to sell my boat and quad just to keep food on the table and roof over our heads for a few extra months. Unfortunately alot of us are heading for it again if we keep this current heading.

I set search alerts for “needs a carb clean” works wonders.

Good to see at least this one cleaned before commencing work! 😁 As you said, that oil even sounded thin when it hit the pan, its the engines blood people, regular oil and filter changes is cheap insurance.

probably just needs carb adjustment or clean air filter

i would invest in a sonic cleaner (heated 1 is good)for all these carbs that need attention it will save you lots of cleaning time inside and out and don't forget to pull out the emulsion tube when cleaning the carby it will also free up seized throttle plates shafts and jets ... well done and good find 👍

I could be wrong it happens, but I'm pretty sure that's an Outlaw 500. the 525 motor is completely different than that and that is a Predator 500 motor.

That is the clutch package plate rod that has grooves in it that has A washer.& Spring on top& bottom that let's the gear throw in & out more. May need adjustments to get full engagement.

those machines work so well. and although 2wd they still rock in the trails because of the ground clearance

awesome deal, great video! at 31:40 when she flames out on you while its rolling, with some quick thinking you can quickly pop her back in 2nd gear and use your momentum to try restarting the engine. obviously if it stalled due to out of fuel it's not that helpful... but if it stalled from blipping the throttle and flaming out it should fire right back up.

This is the 500 not the 525 Ktm motor It’s Polaris 500 predator The 525 is called outlaw 525

Honestly that looks nothing like the outlaw 525 engine! That is the predator 500 engine. And both the IRS suspension outlaw chassis ATV's had the same platform engine.. one had an outlaw 525 while the other IRS outlaw had a predator 500 engine! It's totally possible that is the case here. It looks like the predator 500 engine in the outlaw chassis.

Read up on that trailtech unit.i have one on my xr 650,and they have a ton of features.it also has an internal battery that you need to change about once a year.

That’s a 500 motor not a 525. The 525 is made by KTM and says it on the side covers of the engine.

I don't recommend using the transmission type in your regular oil blends in though at all. Now in your 2 cycle oil yes cause it's made similar to that with more additives in the oils.

Awesome! I have an A 2008 Polaris Outlaw 525 IRS Too! It is a great machine, and 52 horsepower stock! I see at 32:46 you check out the rear and find the wheel bearings are shot. They may be shot but also they could be needle bearings. This is because where the A arms connect to the frame and the carrier, it looks like bushings but it is actually needle bearings. I recently found this out and just removed the needles, cleaned the inside and jam-packed it with grease when re assembling. I'd recommend checking into that because mine had the same movement.

Ask? I mean, the engine of the 2006 Outlaw 500 is the same engine that comes with the Predator. I mean, why have I searched for parts or spare parts for the Outlaw, but they almost don't appear, more of the Predator appear.

They come with Douglas wheels from the factory they're only the yellow label rims so they're the cheap ones they're not really worth much it's also missing the dual rate springs out of the front there should be too small springs on top of the larger springs

Wet clutch oil setups will have pretty dark oil… it certainly needed changed but it’s not that out of the ordinary … nice find for the money. That’s a sharp Looking quad

yep, I changed my outlaw's oil religiously and it gets real dark real fast, just how they are.

Run some gum out octane booster.& Gum out carb& choke cleaner shaken up in the bottle mixed together. The pour the measured amount for the gallons in your fuel tank.

You can add in some Lucas oil products for extra protection. Like Lucas oil stabilizer with h stop leak.

I use Rotella T4 or T6 in all my wet clutch engines. Works great, JASO certified, and cheaper than the “motorcycle” oil.

Check the swith up in the throttle lever..if tht ain't set correctly it will shut of..it's a safety roll over switch

You can try to push start quads that have reverse in reverse it tends to be easier to do that way. I have an ltz400 and if needed I'm able to start it in reverse.

Brother in law had a brand new outlaw years ago, one of my favorite quads to ride to this day

I got a Honda trx450er that needed a carb clean and that’s all it needed till 1st gear went out the first day I rode it and then the whole transmission 2 months later.

Yeah definitely I only paid $2400 so if the transmission wasn’t blown soon after it would have been perfect. Bonus is now it is completely built for the price of a working stock one.

That trail tech dash is nice I have one on my bike... worth a bit.

I used to have an 08 outlaw 525 and this is not the 525 unfortunately. It is the 2006 outlaw 500 with the same engine as the predator 500s

Definitely with you I had a 500 outlaw. Still a great quad just not the torque monster 525. That woodruff key is gonna be dust banging off that rev limiter smdh

@@JohnDoe-ww2zf I do believe you are wrong. That is a fugi motor, not a ktm. Are you sure you even know the difference? They made 2 different outlaws.....a 500 and a 525, one with the fugi motor and one with the ktm. The engine side cases say polaris, if it was a 525 it would say KTM on the side cases. So before you go calling someone wrong maybe you should know your atvs.

I have both an outlaw 500 and an outlaw 525. Both are 2007 and both are irs. My 525 is white and black. My 500 is grey and black. @John Doe

I have the same exact quad. 06 Polaris outlaw 500. Same axels, fox shocks, and all. Only difference is my fram is black lol. And grey seat

I'd check out the light bulb inside of that neutral safety switch spot. It just might be blown out is all that's wrong with it.

the neutral light is the bulb. there should be a spare one in one of the other sockets. i had the same thing happen

You should try a leaf blower to dry it off before you start. Just a suggestion.

Check the fuse under the back fender mine went bad making the battery dead when i turned it off had to do the same thing

I got a question when you pull in the clutch to down shift do you have to let it go and then down shift again or can you pull it in and down shift thow all the gears

that's what he was talking about with the two bolts on the bottom side of the motor they have a switch in the motor and a wire connects to it to ground it when it's grounded the neutral light is on its common on Hondas and other some other bikes you just cut and ground that wire and the neutral light stays on works great in mud bikes you can start in any gear say your under the water in gear it dies you just fire it right back up assuming it's a honda you should be good to go

2 turns on air fuel screw is plenty at your elevation.

I was going to get one of those. But ended up getting a 2008 TRX700XX It was a monster, very fast

I had this problem with my old ltz400 battery had a bad cell and it was sucking all the voltage she would pop and bang and die when you were trying to ride it

My first thought when I seen it all dirty is that it died in or on a trail and the guy selling it just brought it home and let it sit around

Those jump packs are made to jump start engines. Once the engine starts take it off asap. The charging system will ruin them. Not like the normal big jump pack that’s basically just a battery in a box

I have a 525 KTM outlaw on a long hard ride the Clutch which is hydraulic loses It’s prime until it cools off. Any ideas?

You can flip the rims around the other way and they'll be wider

mine came stock from day I bought new at dealership in those same colors the reason Polaris did the orange frame and shocks is because that's the KTM 525 motor that's in it so the orange was like a tribute to ktm cuz Polaris provided ktm with the rolling chassis back then so ktm could get in the quad game which I also have one of KTM'S qauds from that era also

Were the indicator lights disconnected when they installed the aftermarket dash?

I'm surprised that there's no kicker or pull cord recoil start on that machine. You could find an incline and bump start it,.....

Maybe the clutch is sticky when you stop it cuts out. Thinking your clutch is not full disengaging and stalling the motor
