ASUS seems to have fixed some of the issues with this model. I saw one of these recently for sale and a few of the improvements were: 1. It now has a 92mm tower air cooler on a Ryzen 5800X 2. Great Wall 80+ Gold 700w PSU 2. Still a rather low-end ASUS B550 ATX motherboard but it now at least has a heat sink on the VRM. 3. The RAM is dual channel XPG 2x16GB 3200mhz with heat spreaders on the ram. 4. The GPU is now a RTX 3070 with dual fans.

Also PS/2 is a better keyboard input but in reality you probably won't notice. :) Actually one of the reasons I did not end up with the 570 motherboard I had planned for my Ryzen build is that it lacked a PS/2 port. I found buying a prebuilt PC a valuable experience. I knew nothing at the time of how to put the parts together. Once the PC starting failing in certain areas I was desperate and opened it up to see what was going on and using Reddit as a troubleshoot. It allowed me to familiarize myself with a typical build and understand why my pc was being bottle necked. So yes pre builds are expensive BUT they can provide a difficult wake up call to learning your components fast.

@@cameronjordan1516 Yes, and no. Watch this video and note, it does not allow you to run it at max settings, middling settings, at best, unless you play older games that do not tax it much, but for that kind of computer, 500-600, tops. There was a time when a halfway decent budget build PC from the likes of Gateway, eMachines could be had for around that. Mind you, they won't be the most powerful and were halfway decent, as long as you expect much from them. The one I helped my mother buy in 2005 No it didn't have a decicated graphics slot (AGP), and the integrated graphics was stuck at 16MB and it had 512MB of RAM, running a Celeron D processor. board was from Intel and research revealed it to be rather robust for what it was, so not a gaming PC per se, it was more than adequate for basic computing. If you got the 600 dollar version, it was AMD and had the AGP slot populated with the slot itself. The placement was there, but not the slot itself on the 2 lesser models. Mom's was the mid tier model.

I mean: -Works perfectly out of the box (this is a major problem for many prebuilts) -Minimal bloatware -Hardware clocked correctly in the BIOS (again, another MAJOR problem for prebuilts) -Actually very respectable storage specs -Great CPU and GPU pairing -Good looking aesthetics -Gaming performance blows the previous gen consoles out of the water, and is pretty on par with what the new consoles are more than likely going to provide for the first few years. To be perfectly honest, this is probably the only prebuilt of this price point I'd ever recommend to someone who INSISTS on getting a prebuilt gaming PC. All the flaws, especially the RAM, are very fixable (with the exception of the industry standard iffy power supply). This seems like a perfectly good starter rig to someone who wants to put a foot in the door to PC building but is still too scared to put the components together themselves. Later upgrading that cooler and adding more CPU fans seems like it'll be a great and low-stress opportunity to learn PC building in steps before they're comfortable putting a whole PC together. Just the fact that, out of the box, you actually get all the performance you paid for without having to call into tech support or access the BIOS is a huge plus for me. I think you're being a little harsh on it considering the industry standard of prebuilts.

Best Buy is known for paying to use the ROG brand license, then they Frankenstein the PC with cheaper parts which are a slap in the face to the ROG Strix name, the Frankenstein ROG laptops they sell are a pretty great value, although some only come with one stick of RAM and little storage, buying your own upgrade parts later is cheaper than buying the higher spec laptops that already have more RAM etc.

I was unable to build my own computer for various reasons so I ended up building and paying for the assembly of a computer from Memory Express. I selected the parts I wanted from their online store using their PC builder and paid them to assemble it. Although you could just get the parts shipped if you would prefer to do it yourself. They even had some sales on a few parts. Better then going out and buying a pre-built as you know what's in the system and how much you paid for them to assemble it. They have both an online store and physical locations, but they had no stores in my province so I had mine shipped. Only a couple of issues with them. Their customer service took awhile to get back to me via email, and you were unable to call for online sales as they took their line down due to the volume of calls they were receiving at the time. One issue they never got back to me on was me just seeing if I could switch a part out the day after I placed my order since a graphics card went on sale for about $100 less (same card, different brand). The other time I contacted them for an issue the response took just a couple of days and they were helpful. For expensive orders they will do a verification process to ensure there is no fraud going on, that was annoying and took a couple of days, I even had to send a couple of follow up emails since they were taking long to respond. One of their employees creeped my LinkedIn profile which I really didn't like, but whatever. All in all I liked the product I received, and I would definitely recommend them. You should do a review of Memory Express, and other online stores for computers in Canada!

Even if you're very unsure if your pc will actually run, just buy the same components as in the pre builts. edit: literally the first pc came up as prebuilt (1200€) had these components in it: (most prices are taken straight from major sellers such as mindfactory and amazon -be quiet! Systempower B9 600w :56,80€ -Asus Prime B450M-A: 77,99€ -AMD Ryzen 5 3500x: 174,90€ -16gb Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000mhz: 76,71€ -RTX3070 (unsure if founders edition): 8Gb 499€ or 399€ this would add up to 951,22€. With the cheapest solutions Windows 10 64bit Professional CD 34,61€, M2 Samsung Evo 860 500gb 67,99 = 1053,82. Homebuilt is therefore cheaper by almost 150€. This might seem little, but you could upgrade your pc by adding some better component. You could easily add a Ryzen 7 3800x (308€) and still have air upwards (12€) which you could still invest in better ram on sale, maybe score 3200mhz ram. What's even worse, is that the upgrade options on the pre-built sellers side, are even worse. You can pick a ASUS Strix X570F gaming (+211,90€) instead of ASUS Prime B450M-A (77,90€) = 289,89€ for a mainboard which you otherwise would get on the official ASUS site for 253,90€ = 35,99€ difference. This isn't much in perspective, but these differences add up, resulting in a sum which you could use to beef up your pc by some good extend. Let me remind you this is a mid-tier pre-built. Imagine high-end pcs, which cheat you for multiple 100€ more. The discount on pre-builts because the sellers buy the components en masse is a myth. Especially because GPUs and CPU tend have low stock now.

@@andresvalverde5182 Well yeah, of course building your own is cheaper. No one’s ever denied that but what I’m saying is if you don’t enjoy putting something together yourself (nothing wrong with that), Canada Computer’s is a good place to get someone else to do it for you with good parts. They gotta make money on the pre built, right? They’re not gonna sell it at cost. If you take apart their pre builts, it’s also wired super nicely so that’s a plus.

That 20% gaming performance increase was not because it was dual channel but because the ram was RGB

Picked up a CyberpowerPC pre-built at Best Buy this past December when it went on sale. Came with a full-size MSI Pro Z690-A WiFi motherboard, 16GB dual-channel 3200MHz RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD, RTX 3070 (blower style, but it does help keep the inside of the case nice and cool), Core i7-1200KF, 800W (non-modular but still good) PSU, five PWM fans with ARGB, and an AIO cooler with a 240mm radiator and ARGB pump cover. The motherboard, GPU, memory, storage, and cooler would have cost at least as much as I paid for the whole system, and its case and other bits and bobs were also pretty darned decent. Granted, I ultimately swapped the guts over to a Fractal Design North case, but it still came in cheaper than I could've built my own system from the ground up. All that's to say there are some decent pre-builts out there if you're willing to go with lesser-known brands, especially when they get steeply discounted during the holidays as retailers are also trying to offload the year-old systems to make way for the new stuff.

So for anyone who has bought or is planning to buy this pc this holiday season, let me give you some non bias advice/opinions from someone who purchased it, and at the end I'll list the upgrades I made to make it much better. (LONG POST) Performance is solid, all the ASUS Strix don't come with the exact same specs, but for instance I got mine with a Ryzen 5600X and a RTX3060($1400 CAD) which seems to be the low end for this prebuilt and even that is more than enough for gaming. My big complaints in order are 1. The case 2. The ram 3. The stock cpu cooler. So for the case, its pretty horrible there's no way around it. It's small, limiting the upgrades you have available. It only comes with 1(!!!) 92mm case fan mount spot, and the stock case fan is e-waste garbage. That is inexcusable from a company like ROG, they know better. At minimum you want one case fan as an intake in the front, and one exhaust in the back. As for the ram, pretty simple really. I got 1 single 16gb ram stick, however it was ddr4 3200mhz so that's cool. What isn't cool is that 1x16gb ram stick will preform substantially worse than 2x8gb ram sticks running in dual channel and they cost almost the same. Finally the cpu cooler: it's loud and inefficient. You'll be okay with older games and low graphics on newer titles, but you may throttle on newer games at ultra. So for anyone still reading, all hope on this prebuild is not lost. Here are the simple upgrades I made, keep in mind this is my first PC so if I could do it then so can anyone reading this. I replaced the stock case fan with a Noctua NF-A9 PMW 92mm fan. I also added another identical fan to the bottom front of the case, just hand screwed it into the vent holes and it went in easy and is secure(you will need your own screws), both fans come with a cable splitter so no need to buy your own. So now I've got my intake+exhaust. Ram was easy, replaced the single 16gb stick with 2x8 Crucial Ballistix RGB 3600mhz. The CPU cooler upgrade was the hardest part, but really that isn't saying much. Replaced it with a Noctua NH-U9S with a 92mm fan(exact same fan as I used for the case fans). It has the ability to mount 2 fans, so if you want to buy a 3rd Noctua NF-19 PMW case fan you can beef it up even more since they're interchangeable. This is the biggest air cooler you will be able to fit inside this case, if you go any bigger the glass panel will not fit back on. All in all, upgrades were under $200CAD and my performance has increased 20-30%, CPU temps have dropped 20c both idle and under load. Idle around 30c, never go past 65c while gaming. I know, it sucks to have to do all this work after you've spent so much on a PC, but with the gpu market the way it is right now this is really the only option for normal people. Plus, I did all the work figuring it out already so all you good people can just copy. Keep in mind, every part I used was as big as this case can handle. If you go bigger, things will not fit. All of these parts were ordered off Amazon.

Just bought a similar prebuilt biggest issue is the restrictions with upgrading the motherboard is custom to the case so you cannot switch it out and adding fans is a pain with the stock case, so I would recommend this mainly because of the inflations of price but be aware that upgrading ram, motherboard, and case will be a must

I bought this as a first gaming computer. I looked around tried to see what I wanted and then priced out what the parts would have cost me if I built it with similar specs. finding a 2070s and a ryzen 7 was about $1300. I think this is a reasonable desktop to purchase with the intent of upgrading over time. it is running with no issues on all the ultra setting, but for the price it it very much worth it IMO

Nope buying prebuild is always stupid. No hater but think about it like this. You thi k you can resell prebuild for good price after few years of use? Nah not really cuz people pay less for prebuilds cuz they can get nice custom builds for same price. Even now with gpu shortage i bought a ryzen 7 3800x rtx 3060 lian li custom rgb extension cables 9 rgb fans ssds hdds everything bro for only 1500 soooo ye. If you just put a little time in finding parts cheaper you can still build better pc yourself and easier to upgrade and or sell later!

I'm thinking of buying an Asus prebuilt. It has: Ryzen 3700x And RTX 3070 32 Gigs of ram (3200 MHz) 512gb nvme SSD And a 7000 wat power supply All for the price of 1700$ (USD) I am pretty sure I am going to buy it, but if someone changes my mind then I won't. I also want to know if it's a good deal!

@@adrenal486 as for the specs yes thats a nice deal! but check reviews on that particular build for temps problems and stuff like that. just know you cant use all prebuild parts in a new case. keep that in mind
