I am SHOCKED! | hitting a BIG MILESTONE with my sheep flock, loud lambs & mean mamas. | Vlog 768

Well, it's taken me 12 years... but a big goal was finally reached!!
I was pleasantly surprised with the results of my latest weaned lambs.
Still checking in on our lambs and mamas to make sure weaning goes smoothly.
And spending any free time trying to get Jack's basement reno completed.

Here’s two weird questions Do you go around and pick up all the lambs tails when they fall off and with all your grain in the barns do you have a mouse problem.. Your channel makes my day. It encourages my to go out and get something done. You all work so hard!

And here I listen to Sandi's channel to end up falling asleep some nights to the chit chatter of those precious little lambs. Hubby joke: He will tease me about "counting sheep" to fall asleep. Honestly though, your channel has been an inspiration for me for writing my novel ~ Crime Mystery "Farm Girl". It is currently in the revision stage. My favorite lambs are the colorful ones and especially when you were able to save them using the warming bus.

Congrats! 1.96 lambs/ewe 4 u! Did culling the less than productive ewes from the flock help achieve this goal? Culling is one of the most difficult things for tenderhearted folks like Sandi and my dad. He tried to save EVERY calf, heifer, and cow-no matter how sick, challenged, or unthrifty. Heroics like tube feeding, intravenous cmpk or 50% dextrose or lactated ringers or hypertonic saline and drenching, intrauterine treatments, diagnosing twisted stomachs, aseptic milk sampling, striking bi or tri-plates and incubating and reading those cultures... the vets taught us to do on farm. The last 18 years after we expanded from milking 200 plus dry cows, heifers and calves-probably about 450 head...to 750 milking, plus dry cows, heifers, and calves-probably about 1600 head... we learned more of the vet tech skills than from the 1970's to 18 years ago. More animals brings more unusual stuff to see. Learning never stops!

Ever since I found your channel several years ago I have learned so much, so you're a teacher and through this medium You are able to help your mental health, venting is very helpful, and get feedback. I just wish you didn't take it to heart so much on the negative feedback just look at it logically. Those comments that hurt your heart they do not live your path in life. Your courage to do this is a testament to your resilience and I hope you would sort through the comments and take the gems that bless you and throw away the chafe. You are a blessing in my world ❤

IMHO, part of the cost of paint is the talc that's in it as a thickener. When I was a trucker, I hauled some from the talc quarry to the paint plant. (Almost halfway across the US.) The talc has to be mined/quarried, cleaned, pulverized, & shipped before it's a paint ingredient.

Watching you work on Jack’s place brings back memories. My husband and I did our two story house, hanging dry wall, floating it out, spackling it, sanding it, priming and painting. That after he and I carried in the 250 sheets of drywall. It makes me tired just watching you. You guys did a great job.

That was thirty years ago. It took us a while just working on weekends. We moved to that house in 1997 and are now retired here. And we needed to be retired after that. 😁 I admire you guys so much. You are awe inspiring workers..

I'm happy to be here for your latest milestone Sandi! You deserve all the best and I have to say that you are great parents for teaching your children and helping them grow instead of just pushing them into the deep end. It matters.😊🧡💜🧡

Congratulations on making it to two🎉 I agree with you about Spring. Growing up in Minnesota it was a season. Now it’s a week and then 90. But I can’t complain about this winter. January and February have mild and sunny. The snow has been gone from my lawn most of February. Hope talking about it doesn’t jinx it for us.

I noticed Jack's ceiling is open. Will that be enclosed or is he going with the "industrial" look? You and Mark are incredible parents and I get exhausted just watching you work! Congrats on the lamb goal you reached! ❤

I think the extra time you gave the lambs before weaning was the best thing ever. They look nice and robust. You shouldn't have to worry if you'll have enough on market days.

I hope our Rain and melt don't create more trouble for any of us. Heard London had hail yesterday. Hope you fended alright in your location. I gave up with all the lightening. Take care 🌻
