@@fatpapercat4434 why would and will God never forgive me? I am a Christian, the only reason why I am still alive is because God saved me and my life from dying when I was in my car accident. When the ambulance had pulled up to my accident they had pulled out the body bags because they did not know how anyone could have survived my accident when they had seen how badly my car was damaged from rolling down an embankment and hitting 6 trees. I have my favorite bible verse tattooed across the top of my chest "The race is not given to the swift nor the strong but to he that endures to the end" God saved my life and I am forever unfathomably thankful to him for it and giving me a second chance a life!

Agreed, the constant pain I am in is not as bad as the memories of the 3 Marines I served with who didn't make it home. Weird too, I joke I did the Marines backwards, in that I saved a Marine's life instead of engaging the enemy in combat. And since then I've rescued well...I stopped counting at 18 people for some reason. I'm going to go do push-ups now. Devil Dog! Para-Frog!

No therapy due to my listed prognosis. I was offered E5 (2 years, no further) or full retirement. Got schooling, a Commercial Pilot License for airplane & helicopter. Filled my bucket list. People act like it should be the end of the world. They don't understand why I outwardly present such a blasé attitude and was able to make jokes about it even in the hospital. And I point to all of the military members and tell them, "look. This ain't nothing. These guys have a lot more going on and their injuries are only the physical toll. If they can move forward and eventually be able to make light and not get stuck, why in the hell should I?" Thank you, all of you for your service, both before and after that DD214. Love you guys.

@@rursun3570 it pains me to hear that you have only been exposed to half the truth. For I know many that think that we are of 1 race the Human Race with many diverse cultures. I am also a vet in my 50’s all my life I have heard from 1 particular political ideology that the other side is racist. However when I research the History of America there is 1 glaring fact that stands out. That Political ideology has a sordid history of systemic racism one of its most egregious actions was the 1857 Supreme Court case of DRESS SCOTT. They were in control of the souther states, not ONE of them voted to free the slaves and it goes on and on from there. And no I am not talking about Republicans, I am talking about DEMOCRATS. Even today the actions of Joe Biden and the way he has talked to the Black community is disgusting. I am of a multi-cultural decent. European Anglo, Asian and Hispanic. What I have learned thru many thousands of hours of research is that the current sources of information are all lying to US to push a certain narrative and destroy this constitutional republic. I don’t ask that you believe me, I ask that you take the things that I have posted and DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH and educate yourself about what is the REAL TRUTH. I have been participating in an informational sharing movement for the last 3 years that has opened a lot of people’s eyes to what is really going on. I simply ask that you find enough value in yourself to invest the time to do research and let the chips fall where they may. I think that you will be surprised at what you find. My best friend was in 2/2 Golf company and was there at the same time this guy was. Those were bad deployments. I'll never forget my buddies wedding and him introducing me to all these bad asses. He'd say the who and the where and all the awards, I was in awe of these men and felt rather small compared. Then he turned to me and introduced me by saying "He saved my life...he answered the phone at all hours so I could talk about the weather" . It was then that it dawned on me what he was saying and to whom. They all understood and treated me like a brother. I firmly believe that we as citizens have a duty to honor our veterans as it is us they risked it all to defend. Remember them, honor them, and seek to assist them when in need. Just answering the phone can make a difference.

Ok, so I am wanting to be a part of the Marine Corps when I am older. I want to attend at a military academy and be commissioned as an Officer. I am wanting to be a helicopter pilot, but I do not know the MOS. Thank you for your time and answers.

Ur gonna have to put in a package for OCS, ROTC, Naval Academy or PLC in college to commission as an officer to fly in the Marine Corps. You’re not guaranteed a job field, much less a specific mos. For example, I’m a bulk fueler, while I cherish the experiences I’ve gotten, I wanted to be a grunt. My advice to you would be to go Army if you really want to fly helicopters. Either become a 15T and become a Warrant Officer or Commission through an ROTC program and have a much better slot of being a pilot. If u want to be a Marine though good luck and Semper Fi.

We are discontented because we don’t know what to do with what is and being discontented with what is, we develop the idea of what should be. So our action then is based on an idea and the approximation to that idea is action and there is conflict between what is and should be.

This Marine got the surgery he needed I'm envious of that as I did not have that luck with the medical system. Occasionally I'll read VFW magazine legion magazine read stories about guys I got 30 to 40 surgeries I couldn't even get one that was the correct surgery on active duty I think injured too early as the Marines hadn't started the wounded warrior program in the service yet and my doctor decided not to follow the MRI and not reattach the tears instead grinding the bone out taking the stability away and the 15° range of motion that I had recovered I went back to zero in a very sloppy shoulder and socket joint l malpractice I believe that every GI gets injuredd in war should be able to use any civilian hospital because we were great saving guys lives down range so we need to put our doctors down range we had Afghanistan and Iraq going at the same time so that left the home team of doctor short-handed and if you're allowed to use the whole United States medical system as we are United States military that would solve this problem and I'm sure recruiting wound go up I had my bicep reattached after leaving active duty talk to a doctor about possible nerve transplant and was supposed to see his specialty team hopefully fixed the five tears that are documented from the original MRI in my shoulder but I got to run around for the military medical system once again I was told I was not on orders when I was down there on orders and the coordinator for the Navy couldn't even get it fixed medical board I feel like if they would have done the right surgery in the beginning or let me go home waiting orders to get the right surgery done at a good hospital I probably went back to deployments in about 3 years

@@hewryschmidt1498 thanks man. i’m thinking about raiders or being a paratrooper. My dad’s grandpa was a paratrooper in World War II and when He landed he didn’t go to the ground fast enough so he got shot in both kneecaps and then got kidnapped he escaped and he lived another 12 years. Then my grandpa mike was a cop at the world Trade center and he survived just because he didn’t go to work that day.
