Dear Kyle, Sir! I am an Australian who really appreciates what people like you have done and continue to do for their nation and others who call them forth to carry forth the banner of freedom so that the needs of the whole can continue to be free to live and free to worship as Christians without fear or FAVOUR. I have just watched the vids of and about your bravery and heroism and struggle to heal after the grenade explosion that has changed your life for ever! I gather you are a staunch Christian with a big "C" and know what it means to be carried by Jesus. I firmly believe you have not just seen the face of God or been touched by Him but all through your time in the Marines and especially on that terrible day when you were called to make the greatest sacrifice there is and still. Live on the other side that you saw a Lord's face and because of your faith you were not found wanting, that he and his holy angels had guard over you that day and many others since. There is a passage in Psalms that is valid in times like this, " I will run and not be afraid. l will lift you up as on wings of an eagle ..." l believe his Holy ones have since that time been carrying you in their hands and on their wings or you would not be here now. Your humour love and patience shines through even now in these vids about your life. I suspect you just will just say you just an average bloke like your mates. But you are more than that and if l may say so less than that because that day and every day since God has call you by his name and picked up his son Kyle Carpenter In is hands and given you a new life and task to do in his name with it his has imparted some of his Glory to give you the strenght the patience and courage and the quietness of mind to know his mind and his will and do what he has planned since the foundation of the earth. One can only know God's will if we are quiet and listen to the still small voice as Elijah the prophet found out and as one of the Greatest prophet Isaiah heard to voice of God as young man in God's holiest of places the holy of holiest in the temple of Jerusalem. HE would have been a young man at that time and it may well have been his first time coming into GODS holy presence for the first time. To make Isaih right before God to do this God sends One of His moghtyones Possiblely Jesus himself to touch Isaihs lips and Tongue so that he would listen calmly to God's message to the people then deliver it with humility and boldness and courage. I believe he has done this in his own way with you. You come across as a calm quiet personable young man with great fortitude and patience but with a wicked sense of humour and fun yet able to keep and listen to his own counsel when needed.

In 2013, the Sentinels of Freedom in San Ramon, California, created by a couple of Vietnam Veterans, chose to honor Kyle at a special dinner. I found out about this because I was Ladies Auxillary to Post 6298 - Dad was WW2 Army, son only child was in the US Coast Guard, and all my uncles were in WW2 and Korean War. While my son was away, I learned how to do stained glass. I made a 14-in round stained glass of the USMC logo and had the veterans send it to Kyle as something interrupted his trip and he was unable to fly out here to California. I've made hundreds of military honorings and given them to serving, retired military as well as too many Gold Star families. Today on May 19, 2015, my Uncle Bill went home to Jesus - he fought as a Marine at age 20, including surviving Iwo Jima - joined the 82nd ARBN for Korean War, got the PH for saving five of his brothers. I pray Kyle is doing well.

During an era when we are fighting global Islamic terrorism and when 199 of 200 from his generation are pursuing their private dreams - rather than defending the freedom and values of America and of Western democratic culture - this young warrior and his comrades-in-arms are daily making incredible sacrifices and serving with distinction and courage. As a twenty-year active duty retiree, I am in awe of them, I salute them, and I pray for their safe, victorious return. Corporal Carpenter - not the affluent Wall Street crowd, or the elitist politicians, or the arrogant academics and journalists, or the ignorant celebrities - are America’s heroes and role models.
