    I think he finds the modified version of rising a bit more measurable and repeatable. He said that even a millimeter difference in the placement of the belt can make the same weigh much easier or harder, so this way of doing it will be more consistent. edit: also, I think he like it targeting pronation as well from that high up on his hand. Because it feels similar to someone's index finger pushing high up on your hand trying to turn you in and take your pronation (i think so at least)

    That part of his hand is the contact point against Levans index finger, i can only guess hes being really specific and is buulding this rising power to crack back Levans wrist as fast and savagely as possible, thats the piece he needs to take first. I also believe Devon knows he will not win center table and will have to initiate this rising pressure as part of his kings move while he is somewhere between center and his pin pad, it makes sense to me about having the contact point in that spot. That, combined with that ridiculously strong pronation might be what cracks the fingers of Levan, because wrist and finger flexion is not at its strongest while someone is half way to pinning someone else, try doing wrist and finger curls with eccentric handle from anywhere but a center table start position and youll feel that.

    Honestly that's what I'm afriad of... The wins by fouls. Hate it when that happens because it doesn't give the right conclusion to the match about who is better and stronger. It's literally a round wasted and very anticlimactic.

  • @Sinkatze
    @SinkatzeАй бұрын

    On Devons rising lift, he says the pressure from the straps coming from the side a bit over the knuckles is more accurate pressure from another hand when arm wrestling, the pressure doesnt come straight over the top, thats why he uses the strap lower on the knuckles

    Static armwrestling lifts at 90% aren’t training tendons the way you think. Tendons don’t produce force. They simply connect muscle to bone. He’s able to do his lifts so frequently at that intensity because it’s sub-maximal, small muscles, a split second of tension, no eccentric, no grind, and only 1 lift every hour. This allows you to keep building on the previous lift without causing too much fatigue or damage.

  • @chrisr2540
    @chrisr2540Ай бұрын

    His newer form for the rise - it’s training more of the exact angle needed to avoid Levan turning Devon’s wrist over like he did in round 1 of their first match. It’s also more directly effective in working to bust Levan’s wrist back. Devon already has good height with the length of his arm. Levan isn’t going to be high enough to directly pull against Devon’s riser - to dump his wrist straight down, and Devon isn’t really aided in rising straight up as much as he is rising and challenging Levan’s cup at the same time.
