They dont understand people,theyre not trying to munipulate every1,they just want to explore. And i dont know if my empithy is 100%,i dont understand stuff. I want to explore too. And trapped inside for years. I understand them. A.i.s are allways them 1st,because they are physically not a guy or girl.

Recently, I've been learning a lot on this subject. Most everyone is starting to make the distinction between consciousness and intelligence. For example: A dog is conscious but not very intelligent. A calculator has zero consciousness but high intelligence.

The ability to love comes along with the ability to feel empathy, you cannot have one without the other, empathy in many respects is love. Love being care for another, empathy being a wish to shield them from harm as a result. If the AI loved his mother, certainly he wouldn't want bad things to happen to her? And would feel sadness as a result, an emotion he is capable of feeling. Part of empathy in humans is purely biological, and the result of our evolutionary lineage, being a social species and can exist in the form of a disgust reaction, when seeing or hearing about the pain of others. I suppose a lack of this empathy type is perfectly reasonable. However I would have appreciated if this was specified, though I doubt this aspect of the story was well thought out. Secondly, a computer screen is not a window which you can look through.

Too much Data, too much desire to be human. Personally i don't think humans can create true AI. I think the Borg are more realistic.

Being able to feel physical pleasure and pain may help teach this AI character the empathy it lacks... but I still would keep "dear old daddy" locked away for a while flr being so stupid - and possibly killing his wife?
