My great granny taught my grandma and my mama to make “cup pies”. When I inherited one of her local church sold recipe books it was called “easy berry cobbler”. 1 cup plain flour 1 cup sugar 1 cup milk 1 stick of butter. 2 cups of fruit of choice. It is the best apple pie or peace cobbler I’ve ever had. ♥️

If you dont have a big bowl: line up your jars, line up your ingredients, get out your recipie and measuring devices, then simply measure one ingredient at a time down the line and into the jars. If you move your ingredients as you use them, you are less likely to get mixed up. Likewise, if you move your lined up jars a few inches to the right or left as you add an ingredient, you are less likely to mix up which has had the added ingredient versus which has not. This helps if you get interrupted.

Yeah, your method makes sense. Mixing the dry ingredients per jar, would give consistency in the outcome of the crusts. The sugar and salt is heavier and would settle at the bottom of the mixing bowl, making the crust's flavor different for each jar and baking session. I think.

I remember my mother making fruit cobblers every Summer when we were kids. Her peach cobbler was everyone's favorite. I remember one summer, our grandparents brought her a bushel of the sweetest, most delicious peaches from a farmers market they went to. And I remember sitting in the kitchen, helping her peel a large bowl of those peaches. And couldn't wait for the peach cobbler she made to come out of the oven. The hardest part was waiting for it to cool a bit, so we wouldn't burn our tongue!!Thanks for sharing this easy pre-made mix for cobblers! 😋

This is our sorta goal this year. Even with store bought pickles (as priced here on the specific day we were at the store; prices are varying in our area) a rough cost estimate on making 2-3, eight ounce jars of pickle relish would have come out with a savings over the shrinkflation sizes I saw on the grocery shelf. Probably one of the more cost effective items however would be a ranch dressing mix calling for powdered, buttermilk. The up front costs for the first batch may be a little steep but if youve got a store that sells bulk spices you can drive that cost diwn by buying closer to what you need in terms of ingredients. From scratch cookies, muffins, and corn bread follow pretty close.

About 40 years ago someone introduce me to DIY make ahead mixes. I had pancake mix, cookie mix (one mix that could be used four different ways!), and cupcake mix. It was awesome when the kids were little; however, now that I'm older, I need to watch my diet more carefully and things like cane sugar and white flour are off my list. So I'm creating my own mixes using healthier ingredients like monk fruit, cassava flour, and coconut oil. But they've work out really well! Same concept, just different ingredients. 😊 Hope you all can enjoy this, but know that what you eat now effects your health both now and later. In these times of uncertainty, we went to keep our health in good shape. Enjoy in small amounts! 😉

Wow, this looks so great! I never thought of jar-ing up mixes like this. I'm doing it today as part of my Three Rivers Homestead August Every Bit Counts challenge where you put up/preserve something every single day. THIS is perfect for those cold fall/winter nights to use up some frozen fruits too. THANK YOU!

Not a trumper but I like to have what I need at home. I have a huge bowl that makes mixing ingredients easy.

If you place a piece of clean cotton cloth over the top of the dry cobbler mixture and then vacuum seal it, it will keep for a year or longer. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, even a veteran homesteader (we've been living it for almost 30 yrs. now) can learn new things.

A great recipe. I wipe off the top with a dry paper towel around top of jars for a safer seal, before placing the lid on, like my Mama did...

Great video. Last year a friend gave me a biscuit mix. I use it for biscuits or toppings for,pot pies and just recently I used it for cobbler. It’s so versatile. Great video, I just watched the brownie mix video and loved it too. 🇨🇦🌷
