Health Benefits of Going OFF-GRID with Doug & Stacy
Have you ever wondered about the health benefits that come with going "off-grid"? I had the privilege of chatting with Stacy of "Off-Grid with Doug & Stacy" to learn all about the secondary benefits she and her husband experienced when taking their home and lifestyle off-grid.

I enjoyed listening to you both.
Seeing the two of you enjoy yourselves in conversation was a wonderful way to start my day. I was sad to see multiple comments from people who couldn’t seem to get past judging you on your drink choices. I don’t know how you deal with the public judgment that must be constant considering how often you both post videos. I grew up with two major principles that address this: “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all” and “Let he who is without sin throw the first stone”. It makes me sad to think they may diminish your joy in sharing with all of us, but I guess I am even more sad that they seem to be unable to see past their own judgments in order to experience the joy you are attempting to share with them. I can only imagine how this mindset must effect their entire life and relationships with others. I truly hope you ladies are able to skip the negative comments and know that many of us appreciate you both just the way you are, and we truly enjoy your videos!

I am SDA and we teach healthy eating according to the Bible. We push moving to the country and grow your own food. This food is our medicine. We hold health fairs.
While out hiking in a texas state park recently (enchanted rock) my daughter and I were overheated, and our feet were sore. So we took off our socks and boots to soak our feet in a little stream for a while. She was amazed that it not only cooled her but made her feel more hydrated than drinking from the water bottle.

Oh you MUST watch OFF GRID WITH DOUG AND STACY. It is absolutely one of the best channels of knowledge. ❤️
I've set myself up to live off grid right here in my on grid 1900 SF house. I have backups to so many things. I'm a canning, freezing, dehydrating, gardening fool. I have a healthy food storage supply. I have chickens and ducks and have alternative meat suppliers other than grocery stores. I have herbs and medicinals. I'm 63, raising my 2 now teenage grandchildren and have 4 more additional family members in the house. The state of the Country gets tougher by the second but I keep plugging along so we can still eat and live as comfortably as possible with or without the grid. Frankly, I prefer the without. It's so much simpler and liberating for me. Yes, it's hard work but that keeps me healthy like my grandparents who labored with their farms were. My 2 favorite KZread channels in one!
My grandma retired and drew up plans for her off grid cabin and had friends build it. She (we helped) did the finishing work. We helped dig the outhouse. She lived there 15 years. I went over for summers and we skiied up for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I learned TONS. Plus when I was 9 she let me wander all day. She and my dad pointed out a couple key points (& water sources) so I could orient myself since this was in the middle of a national forest that's over a million acres. Back then people could buy pieces of land in the middle of the forest. I loved it.
My family is planning on homesteading and working up to going off grid. Love both your channels.
I was thinking........In olden days at "home steads" , they had children and grandchildren that would start taking over all the heavy tasks older people can't do anymore . But Doug and Stacy don't have that ( and they are probably not lone) Not saying they have started to look old !!!🤩 Stacy looks awesome!! She is my hero. Thanks for video
Two very wise women Im impressed
I'm late to this party! This was a joy to listen to. I was laughing at the heat...I guess you could say I grew up off grid- IN FLORIDA. We had electric, but my dad didn't allow us to use it much. No a/c, no fans...He refused to pay more than 20 bucks a month on the electric bill. It was miserable, and I'm going to be honest...I have zero desire to go back to that! We have lived in our adult years without a/c as well. But, back in Florida..NOT on purpose! 😆
Good that so many are not trying to do smack down on Doug and Stacy...its reported they are wirth a ton of money, and if they earned it its THEIR business!!! Stacy is a sweetheart, Doug is a bit dramatic😂, but he's a good dude Thanks fir sharing and supporting them!!!❤
OK, I must thank you for the easygoing mindset of just re-seeding if the first seeds fail earlier! Even though I know it, it still feels like some monumental failure and causes a plague of doubts on ability to succeed. This is the 2nd round, but temps and humidity suddenly rose earlier due to a lingering storm system. So now if this batch fails, I'll just shrug it off and try again. No more personalizing seeds and harvests; evaluation is fine, but no blame. And I'm done feeling inferior for using some plant plugs from local farms; they have the infrastructure specialization, and manpower. Of course theirs will grow faster...they don't show what fails!
It’s like a front row seat to a geek out. Loving it!!
Two of my most favorite people! Beautiful inside and out!

I’m going to have to subscribe to Stacy’s channel. I like how she’s got many years of experience to offer. The LEDs drive me crazy! Husband loves them, the more the better! I hate when our off-grid cabin is brighter than our actual house! Also, he loves his Starlink connection, which has the potential to really change -good and bad- the experience out at the cabin (which is actually a failed back-to-the-land project from way back).
How wonderful that you and Stacey got to meet each other and chat! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you 😊 Texas Deb ❤️

What a fun Pantry Chat! My husband and I watch both of your shows so to see you both on together was a treasure! Thank you both for your wisdom!
So cool to see you both together. I have been using Redmond's Real Salt for several years. When I first heard about them, I called and spoke to someone and actually had the list of all the trace minerals in the salt. Later on, the government told them they could no longer include the list.....for some unknown reason. I cook mostly from scratch and only use Redmond. I use herbs in my veggie beds. Along with marigolds, the gardens attract less pests with growing herbs. Still learning....
