Can't beat a good Yorkshire Pud, and that one is just fine. The base as it came out of the oven is typically served with roast beef and vegetables and used to mop up all the loverly gravy and juices. One little tip is to forget the baking paper and instead lightly oil the tray and put it into the oven until it's piping hot and then pour in the mixture. Makes it even better! The idea of adding cheese and chives, then rolling, is completely new to me and I'll certainly be doing it that way next time. Food should be fun and sincere thanks from Oz.

Thank you for sharing this recipe. This is so delicious I added it to my favorites list. I added a little fresh minced garlic in the mixture. Instead of spreadable cheese I used provolone, salami, sliced cherry tomatoes, fresh scallions and fresh parsley. Then placed it rolled tightly in parchment paper in the oven for another 10-15min until melted. I can’t wait to try more combinations. 😊

UK : When it was removed from the oven it was indeed what we call 'Yorkshire Pudding'., served with a roast beef dinner. Over here it is often cooked with pork sausages in it and served with onion gravy. Delicious!

I make Yorkshire Pudding often. Absolutely with a good beef roast and I also make them for mopping up the gravy from Beef Stew. I once made the mistake of asking a waitress, at a NY restaurant, if they had Yorkshire Pudding. She said "I don't think so. We have Rice Pudding though". 🙃

Huh! I never would have thought to do that w my Yorkshire pudding. I read the comments and had never heard of Dutch betty. The dutch babies i know about are scrap pie crust w nutmeg and or cinnamon either added in or its rolled on outside and you cook them along w your pie. Gotta love regional differences!

My mum would have grown up making Yorkshire pudding since her school days. My father would have smiled and introduced her to Dutch Babies and German Pancakes and eventually we ended up with what we called 'Treacle Yorkshire', a large Yorkshire pudding mix with apple slices and then golden syrup or treacle added added at some stage of the process.

My name is Teresa and I’m a 65 year old grandmother of six and mother of 7 adult children. I am also a wife, sister and daughter of my big family here in the USA. My family is 9 generations of my country. I love my country very very much. I respect all countries in our world and I wish more and more people in our world would visit as many different countries to learn that we are almost the same only a few differences. This is another reason I like my country we have almost every different culture from around the world. We are a beautiful ray of colors and cultures. If every nation and its people would stop for about five minutes and listen, really listen and observe, we all will find out that we are all the same in certain ways. The only differences we have are our traditions and history. On a different note here regarding food, I love everything you make with only one ingredient I cannot eat and that is hot spices such as chili peppers. Basically any spice that makes you feel like a fire is in your mouth. For me, it takes away all the other flavors and tastes I would love to try. I am saying this on my behalf and don’t want to speak for anyone else. It’s my own opinion. All the rest I could eat until there is no more room on my body to store or save. I know I’m being a bit over dramatic and wouldn’t want anyone to eat until they were sick. No no no no, However it would be difficult passing up anything you bake Thank you for sharing your recipes with all of us out here in this great big world. Respectfully Teresa Chahine

In the UK we call this Yorkshire pudding. It is traditionally eaten as a starter before your main course. This is typical in the cou ty of Yorkshire, and served with a good gravy. Some also take sliced cucumber and onion in vinegar with it also. Legend has it that in the days when households could not afford large joints, they were urged to eat as much pudding as they could, because then they would get the most meat. In Yorkshire parlance - them as eats maste puddins gets maste meat. Enjoy x x x

Similar to a Dutch Pancake, only less butter and baked on a baking sheet instead of a hot cast iron pan. Instead of rolling, we just cut or break apart and top with strawberries and whipped cream or syrup. I love the idea of less butter, and fill and roll it. Definitely will try! Thanks!

Good morning from Seattle, USA! This would truly be quick, easy, and inexpensive to make, but it’s unusual enough to let your family and friends know that you care enough about them to make something special for them! I’m going to make it this week!

Here in Sweden we call it ugnspannkaka ”ovenpancake”, serves with jam (and whipped cream if we want it the luxury way) or fresh fruit.

I like it with bacon placed on the bottom; cooked in the oven and then the batter on top. Also good with a chicken/broccoli mixture below.

From USA. It’s have made this for years as for a Fall breakfast. It is called a Dutch Betty Pancake. I add pears to the pan after pouring batter in and serve with breakfast syrup. Looking forward to trying with spreadable cheese and onions!

I’m from the US South. This is like a giant popover. Popovers are similar to Yorkshire pudding from what I’ve read. They’re usually made in muffin tins. They aren’t often eaten in the South. Southerners usually eat biscuits (not the cookie kind 😄). I don’t know what region of the US they’re native to, but they are yummy. 😄

They are basically the same batter, and you can get "popover" tins that are just tall muffin tins.
