Here's what I think will bump this up a notch. Hydro dipping the pieces and adding a clear coat. If the material can take paint being applied anyways.

As someone who 3d prints a bit, i can say that with a FDM printer like Taylor has, there will be visible layers. Paint shouldn't be a problem, i paint my stuff with acrylics fine. So long as the paint doesn't melt plastic it should be good. One can tell the printer to make thinner layers, but that will make the print take longer. MUCH longer. I usually go with 0.12mm or 0.16 layer height, one can really speed up printing with 0.4. My printer can go around 0.08. But going that far, at least doubles print time on a small project, but on a 28mm model, it goes from 1hour to 4 hours 20 min. So what i'm trying to say is that you need to sand the models to really make them smooth, and unless things are really smooth hydro dipping with clear coat will have visible layers. However with 0.08 the layers are near invisible. And my printer is a CR10 mini, sort of a budget printer.

Also, just a tip from a fellow 3d printer; if you want your part to be "heavier duty" i.e. tougher, add more perimeters, not more infill. There are plenty of KZread channels that have proven that, for the same amount of filament, more perimeters will yield stronger results vs. higher infill.

Have fun printing! I got my first 3d printer a few months ago and I haven't stopped looking for things to print as well as designing my own as well. Just one word of advice, I find infill does not do much to increase strength, but adding more perimeters to the print helps a bunch. Your mileage may vary. Happy printing!

3D printing is incredible! I’m a design engineer by trade and have been working with 3D printing on the hobbyist side for about 3 years now. I’d love to answer any questions or help in any way if need be! One cool thing about printing that you mentioned is the magnets. You can stop a print and insert magnets or nuts to have them be captive in the print. I’ve also done threaded inserts that are pressed in with soldering iron. For certain applications you can also anneal the plastic in an oven to get better strength-ish for other applications. I’m really excited to see what you can do with this.

Most people usually go through three different phases when 3d printing. First is kinda "Yoda figures and fidget spinners" where you print mostly cool things that while they don't have a particular use, you enjoy printing them. Second is where you start printing (and designing) more usable things. And finally, the last stage, where you're solving problems with 3d printing, designing your own parts to fix your own specific needs. But you've totally skipped to phase 3 and that is SUPER EPIC. You should definitely look into different materials; there are as many 3d printing materials than there are knives in your collection ;)

@@thesusboomerroblox6516 honestly, my ender3 has been phenomenal. Hard to suggest spending more, a prusa is more refined, but I've had no issues where I feel incapable. It really depends on what material you plan to print though, Ender 3 handles pla petg just fine which are you two "nontoxic"(general understanding, no guarantee, always do your research) options, both of which have different properties, that will cover most material needs. Getting into abs (the s stands for styrene, which is the toxic part) is doable with an upgrade enclosure, but I've found no need to resort to abs. Abs is the industry standard for plastics, but there's better stuff like polypropylene, nylons, polycarbonate, and so on. Very desirable traits, but require too much heat for almost any printer I've seen for a good price..... but even the Ender 3 can do it with the right upgrades. Probably still cheaper than buying a prusa, but the prusa is a quality machine. I also prefer the Ender's frame. Teaching tech KZread channel goes into info on Ender deep, good source. Proper printing got his head on right, smart dude. He goes through the trouble of printing nylon on Ender. But seriously, under 200$ for the Ender is probably your best starting point. Tomb of 3d printed horrors will show you the best set up, for tuning the Ender mechanically as well as on the software side. This is many years of dedication summarised into a reply, sorry I wasn't more succinct, but there's alot to know, and slot goes into this to be safe. Do your research. I personally want an skgo kit but that's high end expensive and for advanced users. My first printer was built from parts, was a good experience, but I would have been happier having the easy success of starting Ender. God bless you

Avid printing nerd here. Infill does not mean more strength. Adding more infill just means longer print times. 15%- 20% is what you want to keep your prints at. What adds strength is your shell. By the look of your thumbnail photo as well it looks like your shell is really thin because I can see the infill. Up your wall/ bottom and top layer counts. Happy printing!

Have the opening of pill storage to be a slide track that snaps in place. The demensions should be 6 cm long, 17 mm wide, and 6 mm thick.
